Need someone to take over Movati membership

So I have a membership at Movati in Thunder Bay with 10 months left on the term. The payment is about $50 biweekly. I am moving away from Thunder Bay this month and need someone to take over my membership. I will pay the account transfer fees and can even give you 50 dollars on top of that aswell.

CBC req: ER & URGENT CARE CLOSURES/WAIT TIMES

I'm a reporter at CBC Thunder Bay working on a story about closures/wait times at NWO emergency rooms and urgent care centers.

Have you been impacted by your local ER/UCC wait times? Was the ER or UCC closed when you needed it?

If you're interested in being interviewed, please reach out by phone or email at 343-552-1972 / michelle.allan@cbc.ca

Thanks!

Cheap eyecare in the city ?

Hey gang! I need a eye exam but I don't know how much it will cost for the eye exam and glasses. Any idea where I might find good service in comparatively low price?

Question about Christmas markets

So if I buy a pair of slippers at a market, they are $10, no tax.

However, if later that day I order a pair of slippers off their website, I now have to pay tax.

How are vendors able to not charge sales tax at markets?

132 S Franklin St??

Does anyone know anything about this place listed on rental sites in Thunder Bay? 132 S Franklin St? I think I just got majorly scammed. They went as far of talking to TDBSSAB to get first and last deposit. Supposed to get keys yesterday. No one showed up. Said guaranteed I will get keys today. Now nothing. Said they worked for Villeneuve Construction but are working on a project in Windsor which is why they are renting their house. The owner of Villeneuve called me today and of course they don’t.

Why do all the LGS suck in Thunder Bay

How come all of the local game stores in Thunder Bay suck? Is there something I am missing? Is it harder to operate than I am assuming?

Fire near hillcrest

Anyone know what’s burning right now close to hillcrest? Can see a huge line of black smoke in the sky coming from what looks to be possibly the Hillcrest Towers apartments on the cr of high and red River

Sewing classes?

I remember seeing about one on Facebook before quite a while ago now, but I don’t have social media anymore. Anyone know of any places that do sewing lessons in the city? I’ve tried googling and didn’t find anything. A group setting would be nice.

Call to film weirdos and artists

So I booked the north end rec for the 15th of January and bought a projector. I'm gonna show a bunch of weird avante garde short films, maybe talk about them, maybe interview some of the local film makers. It's super loose right now so I thought I would reach out to the community and see if there are any film makers lurking here that have a short they would want to show. That or poetry to read or art to hang up or somthing.

The idea is to try and grow a little community, show some movies, let the weirdness escape the phones for a bit. It's a bit of a longshot In the dark as I don't have any money. Gonna run it by donation and hopefuly get enough to pay for the hall, prob not tho. It's not about money it's about DIY and community.

Anyone want to get involved?

Personal Novemburger ranking?

With Novemburger drawing to a close, I thought it might be fun to share our rankings so far.

There’s still time to go get another one!

Mine, least-favourite to favourite:

  1. Outlaws. Had high hopes for this one based on the description and the TBNewsWatch review, but the bacon jam was too sweet for me and the breaded mozzarella slice was too much.

  2. Daytona’s. It was fine. Nothing particularly stood out about it — just a run of the mill burger.

  3. Bonobos. This one was quite good, although I personally prefer their wild rice patty to the seed patty this came with — I don’t love the sunflower seeds in it. Artichokes and pesto were delish.

  4. Neebing Roadhouse. Interesting one — more of a sausage patty than a burger. Good flavor, but kind of dry — could have used more sauce.

  5. El Tres. So good. Loved everything about it. Just a delicious mess of ground chorizo and chuck, queso, pico de galo, and crispy onion. I’d have this again in a heartbeat.

Wanted to try Norteños and Paddy Wagon, but didn’t get around to it.

What about you?

It’s been four years since the leadership changed at the Thunder Bay Regional Health Sciences Centre. How has Dr. Rhonda Crocker Ellacott’s leadership changed the work culture?

Can I pick up packages from Canada Post in Tbay?

This is probably a dumb question but I picked the worst time to do online Christmas shopping and the strike started right when my packages all reached Canada. I'm a student and it's my first ever Christmas that I've had the money to get good gifts for my parents and I really wanted to make this Christmas special for them with gifts.

I'm not going to complain about Canadian post because they just want fair pay, but I'm really worried that the strike won't end until after Christmas.

So does anyone know if I can and if anyone has been able to pick up their packages from Canadian post in Tbay?

Water bills in postal strike

My water bill is this month and I can’t find any instructions from the city on how to find the amount is said bill, only media statements asking people to use online payment methods.

I feel like the answer is going to be to call the city but was wondering if anyone had run into this yet.

Need an in home barber

Hello Thunder Bayites, hoping someone could help. I had a nice lady who would come to my home and cut my hair. Unfortunately half of my contacts have disappeared from my phone (stupid technology) and I lost Brenda’s number I think I originally saw it on FB but not sure.

If anyone knows someone who does this or can point me in the right direction, it would be greatly appreciated.

Thanks from a technologically challenged shaggy haired boomer.

?private urgent care

Does anybody know what this "boreal urgent care" is on Algoma or memorial? Seems very interesting. I've not heard a review or seen advertising for it. What is this thing? I know that we've opened the door to privatized healthcare and as a union member, I guess I reluctantly See the need for discussion, but what is this place?
