Why is the cast of Season 13 so hostile?

Makes it a bummer to watch.

Edit: US season 13

Why so many family calls/letters etc in season 15 just by episode 6?!

I have been watching through the show and while some seasons have been good and others not so hot. One thing that was consistent was not being able to see family/winning the chance to talk to family etc. but this season every 2 episodes they are having a family video call etc and not sure why? I mean it takes the appeal away of seeing how the family will react when they see them every two weeks. Currently on episode 6 and they has been a video call, mail and packages from home and then dvds/letters from home.

Edit on episode 7 ( blue won to see their family which again while nice just doesn't have the same appeal and the others shouldn't be as sad as previous seasons since they have had updates every 2 weeks)

Erin Season 17

It's so dumb and juvenile. But I've been watching Season 17 only season I've ever watched and from the beginning all I'd ever say when Erin came on screen is that wow she's beautiful. Followed 8 seconds later by me saying she is really really beautiful.

Just something that makes me laugh I'm so distracted by her on the show. Fortunately she was a hard worker so it didn't become unjustified rooting for her.

But honestly chop 50+ pounds off anyone I thought they all became beautiful at minimum a ton more attractive.

Young man with a band?

Does anyone remember a season where one of the contestants, I think a younger man played a song for the show with his band? The band had him on vocals and a young woman on vocals as well. I think it was a rock/pop punk sort of vibe. They played this romance/break up song I really liked a lot but now I can’t find it anywhere.

I want to say it was around 2010-2014 maybe?

Do you all have a favorite contestant?

Mine is Ali from season 5 (and that season) are a favorite of mine. One of the few I remember watching when it originally aired.

That season and season 9 are probably my favorites.

Is there hope past season 13?

I mean this genuinely, I turned that shit off after episode 13 I think and I am moving on to season 14 but after the bs of season 13 I’m worried it will continue to be less motivating and more about having a villain. I don’t want any spoilers in case I do enjoy it and move on but I also don’t want to waste my time at this point, I’m just looking for motivational stuff yall not this middle school drama from season 13 😭

Did any seasons have any romance between people who met on the show?

Started watching with my mom, and dont remember a whole lot from watching the show years ago.

Curious if any romantic relationships starting from it? Or anything else interesting like that?

Do you guys think there is actually any hope that this show will be made ever again?

It seems most of the trainers (American and Australian) have said that The Biggest Loser as a concept just doesn't work anymore. What with body positivity and activists getting mad at a weightloss show like this.

I'd personally love to go on The Biggest Loser and I am hoping it will have a comeback.

Like, I understand that Society has gotten more sensitive about weight, and some people even consider you healthy despite being heavily overweight, but I personally just don't believe that that's true. I believe much of the science that the show portrayed from years ago.

I do think that with people getting bigger and bigger, a show like The Biggest Loser is good. It shows that if you want to lose the weight, you can! Perhaps in a more sustainable way if it were rebooted, as many contestants gained back.

I understand that many people were upset by how the trainers would yell at some of the contestants, and I could see how that would upset some people. Though personally, I believe that that's the type of training I would need, and benefit from.

I'm not sure what would be the best way to make The Biggest Loser modern, any thoughts on this?

Season 12 seems unfair

Watching US version season 12 right now where they’re in teams by age. It just seems like a really unfair set up for the oldest team. They obviously can’t run as fast or workout as aggressively so even if they did lose a high percentage they can’t win any challenges.

I'm based in the UK and I can't find the US version of the shoe anywhere! Amazon Prime has the Australian version but only 3 seasons. Happy to use risky streaming sites but any I've looked on I can't find the show there either! Please help

Just saw season 13... it looks like they were all suckers.

I know, its so many years later and that none of it matters. I have watched the show in the past for motivation for getting in shape. Sometimes I don't believe the numbers can move in the right direction and (even though I know this isn't done in the best way) the show helps remind me that bodies can lose weight. And makes me think about things like the changes to my diet I think I can stick to... when I want to weigh myself... I'm thinking in 10 swims or 15 walks... instead of some number of days.

I hated watching Conda and I could not believe people didn't just get rid of her to stop hearing that relentless complaining and mean spirited, selfish back stabbing. I feel sad for all the people who were sincere. But, its not a mystery why she's a bitch... its obvious that she is a manipulative cow... and they tried to show her sad backstory to excuse the damage she didn't mind doing to the people around her. However, its her brother who won the game... and they probably split the money. And, they could not have gotten into the top 3 if everyone didn't help them get there. The giant mystery is why those two had such strong supporters that they couldn't see the game play. Conda was never going to win, but she made sure to get her brother to the end. Why were the others so stupid? How did they let themselves be manipulated to this extent? Why didn't any of them want a shot at 250,000? They won the prize because they wanted it more and made sure they were in the final three. They ruined the show... but a good number of contestants let them. I wonder if the other contestants were bribed or if they were really just gullible suckers. Crazy bitches happen... that's not a surprise... how did she get a team of people to help her succeed to their own detriment?

Any theories why Nick Gaza did not attend the final Weigh-in in Season 2?

I'm still wondering why Nick was absent in the final Weigh-in in Season 2? Any theories?

Season 17 - Stephen and Jacky

I’ve just binged season 17 and of course go on the hunt to see what the contestants are doing now.

Sadly Stephen passed away in 2020. From the posts I’ve seen, mental health may have been a part of it which drew me back to what Richard said on the live show finale “the biggest loser doesn’t yet have mental health support” (words to that effect).

I imagine being a contestant would be physically and emotionally so challenging - especially after the show.

I hope the new season takes that and has good mental heath support for all involved.

The Biggest Impact

As I sit here watching the reruns of many seasons of the biggest loser I am in love with the show they don't only focus on the work out and the physical aspect of things but also the mental aspect of things and in the 17th seasons that I've watched you can see the difference that they are making in these people's lives and in their families lives it's really amazing like the impact this show has had is beyond measure I don't see why something like this would get canceled especially when obesity is such an issue but it's not only for those who are overweight it's also an inspiration for those who could get more fit I am 5'2 and currently weigh 168 lbs so by the body mass index I'm myself am overweight but watching all these contestants make such phenomenal transformations has inspired me finally use the gym membership I've been paying for for years and I've set a goal to fit back into my wedding dress by our next anniversary so we can have a vow renewal and finally get wedding photos after all these years

Looking for a clip

I’m looking for a clip of a young man getting a pep talk from an older male contestant about needing to find the “fire in his belly.”

I believe the young guy was from a father/son team but that the older man wasn’t his father; he was from another pair.

I want to say the young guy was Austin Andrews, but it may have been someone else.

Thanks so much for any insight I to who this was or where I can find a transcript or clip of this short conversation!

Discovery plus

It looks like they have added season 17 to discovery+, and then the latest season is “biggest loser reboot.” However, season 17, episode 1 and 2 are the same and I don’t think it’s the correct episodes. Any insight?

Body Fat %

Anyone else sort of wish they would measure body fat % rather than weight only? The way they work out they must gain a lot of muscle.

It would have been cool to see the difference based on that too I think.
