Jim Courier roasts Rune after his loss to Zverev
“I really have no idea what Rune was trying to do” comments Courier. “He played the game only with instinct, like jazz musicians who improvise on the spot do, but without rhythm and without harmony. Very important things are happening on the tour (referring to the Sinner-Alcaraz), while he plays random shots and this cannot be the recipe for success in the long term, you can play a game like this, on instinct, but he always does it now. He approaches the game in a very immature way."
“If he wants to keep up with the more consistent guys, he has to find something to rely on rather than playing casually and seeing what happens. It needs a sense of order and structure that it doesn't have,” concludes Jim.
