Anyone gave up and finally switched from a pure drive or other Babolat racket to Wilson clash due to arm issues?
Did you eventually stick with the clash? Or ditched it for something else
Recently switched from a Head Extreme Tour to the Ezone 98.
I really love the way the Ezone plows through when i play aggressively.
however i tend to find it difficult to hit consistent deep rally balls in matches, when i‘m maybe a little more tight.
i feel like i have to go all out on rally balls just to get them deep. so sometimes when i’m a little tight i don‘t get the chance to benefit from the „attacking benefit“ of the ezone…
is there anything in terms of string setup or maybe racquet customization i could do to help me there?
current setup: racquet: ezone 98, no mods strings: pro‘s pro cyberpower (black), 23/23 kg
I just started playing and I have serious problems with the serve. Is it normal that I have trouble hitting a flat serve? It's easier for me to keep the racket face at an angle a doing a sort of slice. For now I'm interested in trying to have a serve that goes often in play. In your opinion, should I focus on improving the slice which comes quite naturally to me (even if I still can't control the direction of the serve) or should I improve my pronation and first learn to easily land a flat serve? Do you also have exercises I can do at home to improve pronation?
I need help ending my racket search. I’ve looked day in and day out for the past 5 months for a new tennis racket. I just got to college and picked up playing again and would consider myself a pretty solid player but don’t play tournaments but would like to in future. I just can’t settle on a racket. I bought a Vcore 98 first, my local store recommended, and that racket was ok, just felt very weird and gross to hit with and my shots kinda soared. I then bought a Head Gravity Mp and that racket stinks for me, it feels just mushy and gross and just weak. I then demoed everything at my local store, almost every brand and every racket. The ones that I liked best were the Ezone 98 and the Pure Aero Plus. I ordered an Ezone 98. Ended up hating it. Most certainly because the strings, but then I also realized the racket was too fragile the more I played against bigger hitters. So then I began to demo more and more. I just can’t seem to make up my mind. I am a flat hitter, use almost zero spin except a bit from time to time on my backhand, which is always a one handed. I like a heavy racket for stability, but it has to be balanced right because something like the Gravity Pro I demoed was god awful for one handers. I hit tend to hit balls out because I just like knocking the hell out of the ball. I just can’t decide on a racket. I like heads grips the best as their 4 size grip is perfect for me. I demoed the boom pro and it felt excellent but I’m worried about the launch angle with me being a flat hitter.. But then when I demo something like the speed pro, I find my shots clipping the net. I just can’t decide. Maybe I should do a Ezone Tour for the same racket and extra weight? Or the Babolat Pure Aero Plus? Someone please help.
Saw a brand new head gravity pro 2023 version on discount (around 50% off). Is it worth getting it or should I wait for 2025 and pay a higher price for it?
How'd you all do? I got a much wanted bumped to 4.5. Psyched to face stronger opponents and see how I can develop my game!
What does each one mean?
I got a few bucks to kill for winter tennis and want to play outside at 30-40 degrees. Now obviously, I don't mind playing with pressurized balls but they die very quickly in that level of cold. Was wondering if anyone had a good recommendation between the triniti, triniti pros, or the tretorns for good balls to use in the cold weather. i know it won't match a good pressurized us open ball in the summer but we don't got the luxury of that in the winter. What is a good recommendation for a good ball to hit with in the winter even when its cold.
Thanks!
Hey guys - I'm a USTA 5.0C UTR 8-9, having trouble finding solid hitting partners at my level. How/where have you found good hitting partners?
Has anyone that didn’t do Safe Sport received notification of their new rating yet? I haven’t and my rating on my USTA profile is blank
Yoohoo serve freaks, I'm slowly modifying my serve to preserve shoulder while gaining speed. Good news is shoulder is great, bad news is serve has decreased in quality!
One thing that's been problematic is I'm not leading with the edge when unloading. Racquet face opens too early. I picture to hit with the edge of the racquet but muscle memory is tricking me.
Also, how do you get precision with slice or spin if pronating happens at the last split second?
Thanks for your tips on pronation and timing! Oh and anything to avoid stressing out my elbow is welcome too!
can anyone speak to the quality or fit of outside lines tennis clothes? i've seen their ads and i like the plaid shorts look but have been hesitant to pull the trigger because it looks fairly new
Hello I am a 19 year old male that plays college tennis and am wondering what would be the best advise to improve as much as I can to hopefully have a shot of going pro. Should I focus on professional private training? Should I focus on growing my utr? Should I go practice out of the country?
Has anyone in the US ordered any rackets from TW Europe to the US? They have deeper discounts right now on some frames. Is there a way around them blocking shipping to the US? Like a 3rd party shipper?
Anyone else excited?
I'm getting some Lunarlon Vapor vibes from these which came out around the same time as the 2008 Hyperdunks.
Also Nike should rerelease the Vapor 9.5, they sold out for a reason 😭😭😭.
Also hopefully Nike actually fixes the Vapor line this time around.
The tennis place I play at is expensive and it’s the cheapest in my area, anyway my parents are forcing me to now play 4 days a week no lessons with coach and my one clinic still. I’m currently trying to play d3 and to accomplish that goal I want to get to a 6 -7 utr by the end of high school( I’m a junior rn) . I’m a good player but I lose every tournament match I play making me a 3.4 utr. My coach said if I didn’t choke my tournament matches I’m probably be around a 4.5 utr. Do you guys think I can accomplish this goal of going d3 with a 6-7 utr even with this handicap I kinda have now. Btw i didn’t start taking tennis seriously until this June, since June I have played like 98% of those days. But I have this feeling no matter how much I play i won’t get better( mainly because of all my tournament losses), which is why I think with having to play 4 days a week now my dream of going d3 is cooked. So do you guys think I still have a chance to go d3 and also I need some advice to build confidence in my game because well I don’t have that rn.
I am a 22 year old college senior at a pretty good NAIA School that I play tennis for, I have tennis eligibility left because I did not play tennis my first two years in college because my juco at the time took away their sports teams due to Covid. I play 4-5 for my team and I could play in grad school but I just got accepted into a few law schools so obviously I'd rather just focus on my studies and play club tennis! But the more i keep looking into futures i really want to play qualifying for one just for the experience honestly, there was a non-WC awarded player at an African one in November who was a non-verified 5 utr, I am above that! I don't have delusional expectations here or anything i just want to play one to mix it up on court with people who have done it!!! It's like a thing that I'd do in the summer or something, anyone have any tips on the right futures to target with a lowly ranked player like myself? I have a passport already and I would be down to travel overseas because I know North American futures are hard to get into! Please help me find out which one is best!

Does anybody know if the Pure Aero (98 or 100) has gone on sale and when on Tennis Warehouse, Tennis Express, or other retailers? I’m looking to upgrade and I don’t mind waiting a few months for a better price since I barely play in the winter.
Stringing costs money, so before I go waste a round of strings and stringing, I wanted to get some feedback.
What's been your experience from stringing down in tension? Did you find that your shots were too powerful? Did you start getting more spin? etc etc
I know it’s not mandatory giving a gift, but I’ve honestly been so hard to teach. I kept making the same mistakes for a month or so, and my coach has the patience of a saint.
I did improve a lot though, so what are we giving coaches for Christmas? I feel like they have it all!
I started playing tennis in Jan of this year. Love it. I try to play 3-6 times a week. If i'm not at work, or with family, this is what I want to be doing. I get the 5am court, or the 9:15-10:30 court just for extra play time. Late October, things started to really click. The 3.0 group session I'm in, where I usually get my butt kicked, I started winning the mini games against the better players. I started beating solid 3.0s, and even beat someone who is objectively better than me 6-2, 6-1. Everything seemed to be working that day, Serve had great placement, my heavy topspin forehand was extra spinny, I was returning everything. I thought I was getting good. Then 2 days later, my entire department at work was let go. I was crushed and honestly have been depressed since (I'm looking at a 50% paycut, or moving far away to much bigger cities, which I don't want to do). Since then, my tennis has been AWFUL. I'm back to the bottom in that group session. And my forehand just leaves me for long stretches. Anyway, long post to say that I didn't fully appreciate how important General confidence was in playing Tennis well. For now, I have lost mine.
How long did it take for you to get used to the change?
Hey guys which strings do i put for spin + comfort or just heavy spin for my new pure aero rafa? there any specific ones for the mains x crosses or should i keep it all the same string
I'm a college student at the UMN looking to better my game. I'm pretty athletic but only started a year ago. What are my options to get competitive? Are there leagues/tournaments? Should I get lessons or work with a coach?
