All things Tel Aviv related. Meetups are happening currently weekly (well, we had a flurry there) so possibly bi-monthly or something. PM someone! A sister subreddit to /r/Jerusalem.
Some useful websites in english and hebrew for tourists and/or locals who need some guidance:

Hi friends :)
I live in south tlv and need to take my dog up to Petach Tikva for surgery in a couple hours. I was planning on taking the light rail, but I just noticed on the website that they technically say only small dogs (mine is 25kg). I guess my question is...does anyone actually care about that?
In some parts of S Tel Aviv open use of drugs by people on the street is a regular occurrence. I’ve multiple times called an ambulance for people lying motionless on the street.
I’m curious what kind of drugs are the most common, and if opioids are common, is Narcan/naxolone available (or widely available) in Tel Aviv for residents of drug-use high areas in the city in order to be first responders to a potential overdose?
For other drugs what harm reduction and mitigation steps can be taken?
What measures have the iriya taken to address this problem? Why is it relatively contained to a few neighborhoods?
Anything else a responsible neighbor of so much addiction on the street should know?
Kindly I’m asking a serious question for people in the know. Please no dehumanizing statements about people suffering from addiction here or flippant statements by people who don’t actually know stuff about the specific problems in S Tel Aviv.
Hiiii cuties; American Jew looking at that sweet Tel Aviv coffee shop scene. Can y'all send me some recommendations of Coffee shops? Pls and thaaaaaanks.
I know there’s a lot of conspiracy theories about this which are obviously untrue related to Jewish and middle eastern ancestry. Other countries also have similar restrictions like Germany, France and Portugal.
Sorry if this question is offensive to anyone. But I was just wondering if there was a way to address the theological aspects of the conflict. Perhaps through an interfaith conference with Arab Israeli religious leaders and religious leaders from other parts of the Middle East. I think this is something that gets overlooked by a lot of people in the west because western nations are mostly secular.
I’ve heard some Muslims believe the Jews no longer have the right to have a state in Israel because their exile was a punishment from God for not following his laws. Obviously I don’t agree with this interpretation and I support Israel’s right to exist.
Preferably closer to the train station, but that's just being picky
Hi, what are some activities to pickup for an oleh chadash (29m). Last winter was pretty boring, occasionally me and my friends would sit inside and play Catan all weekend but I am trying to do more than that.
I'm pretty active but I wouldn't say I'm athletic. I like going to museums but I'm trying to find more things to engage in community (and practice my Hebrew). I am coming from a place where everyone would ski and ice skate in the winter.
If hamas thinks the rest of the world is on their side they will have no incentive to negotiate with Israel for the release of the hostages. This will also embolden Israel’s enemies, like Iran, to take additional military action against them since they are more likely to get away with it. It also accomplishes nothing, other than terrorists propaganda, since the ICC has no jurisdiction in Israel and Netanyahu has no intention of complying with the arrest warrant. It does seem like this warrant will make international diplomacy very complicated since 100+ countries are a member of the ICC and are therefore legally required to arrest Netanyahu. Can the US and Israel’s allies do anything about this ?
Hi everyone, it's my second year out of the US and Thanksgiving really snuck up on me.
Does anyone in this community know where an American Oleh Hadash like me can find a Turkey / Pumpkin Pie filling / Cranberries ?
I live in SoTel (Florentine) but willing to make the Haj for some Thanksgiving goodness--gotta show up for my international homies.
Thanks everyone, much love, and stay safe out there.
If anybody hears of any tickets for these sold out events, I would be interested in one. Thank you very much.
Sorry for stupid question. I am new Olim, and I need to buy fridge and washing machine to my new empty apartment in Florentin. I have no idea how to do it. It’s third floor with no elevator and I don’t have a car, so delivery is a must.
Knowing that Israel also has multiple nuclear weapons and will likely retaliate. Sorry if this question is too controversial and provocative. I know that it must be difficult for Israelis to live next to a regime like Iran. I hope for the safety and well being of all Israelis.
I’m viewing an apartment tomorrow that I’m very interested in. It’s within my budget, but as an Olah Chadasha in Tel Aviv, every shekel counts lol… is it common to negotiate rent prices here, and to succeed in the negotiation? Any tips of what to say would be great
An interesting documentary I found on YouTube.
Anyone have a suggestion for a coffee shop with WIFI that is a good place to work (not too crowded or loud, the kind of place you can bring a laptop and sit for a couple hours) in South Tel Aviv (Florentin, Neve Tzedek, Levontin, Givat Herzl, and other nearby areas) that has a teudat kashrut?
Edit: not looking for chains like Landwer or Aroma. Something local and high quality.
According to the Jewish Press media outlet Saudis have recently said that they will only do a normalization deal with Israel if a sovereign Palestinian state is created. If it is possible to create a Palestinian state in the West Bank, while still protecting the safety of Israelis, would you support this agreement?
Of course I'd never condone any violence against them and what happened was awful. But what were they thinking chanting death to Arabs and other horrible things in the middle of Amsterdam?
Do they not give a fuck about our image at all? Why did they antagonise the ajax fans with anti-arab and anti-gaza chants? Are they stupid? They don't think these things will be all over the news just because they say it in Hebrew?
Again, they ajax barbarian fans who attacked are abhorrent but the macabbi fans have basically given the world all the ammunition they need to blame US for this attack.
Once again, we get attacked, and we get blamed for it. I know the drill. But the maccabi fans have embarrassed the nation. If they came in peace and still got attacked the narrative would be very different.
Edit: apparently it's mostly not Ajax fans. Anyway point still stands. Optics would be much better for us if we hadn't had our S tier arsim barbarians representing us there.
I just spent the day in Jerusalem - by machneh yehuda and I didn’t see any hostage posters on the street anywhere. I saw some hanging in a restaurant but not even the “official” ones but the drawings by Shoshke
Does anyone know what’s up with that? Or are we just completely bombarded with hostages and 7/10 posters and stickers everywhere in tlv (understandably) and other cities are just not like this ….
In North America standard tip is 15-20% but it varies a lot.
