Hey there,
So I got myself an I5 14600K CPU and a MSI B760-P II motherboard, will they work out of the box so I can update the BIOS after? I kinda lost connection to building PCs and PC tech world for like 10 years and I'm a bit concerned,
Thank you for your help!
So just recently I upgraded my GPU from a rx6600 to a rx7800xt and after doing so I plugged everything back in and now my monitor isn't showing up as an audio output. I did the whole device manager and driver update ordeal I even went and got the driver for my monitor (1080p asus tuf 27") off of their website and manually downloaded it which worked partially. It started to actually recognize the monitor for what it is instead of the "generic p2p" or whatever windows was calling it. But I still can't get it to show up as an audio output it's like it just doesn't exist. Any help would be much appreciated I don't NEED my monitor speakers but it would be nice to have that feature again. Thankyou
I can't pin point exactly when this problem started but my internet on my pc has started to become both slower and also disconnects on occasion. For years I've been getting the max speed my IPS provides which is 250Mb/s
I tested some things and found the following results:
- All my other devices (phones, laptops, xboxs) have good speed (estimated 160-250Mb/s), my pc fluctuates between 30-60Mb/s and also disconnects entirely.
- I moved my computer into the room with the router and connected a Cat6 cable and got up to 104Mb/s. Same cable with a laptop was getting max 250Mb/s.
- I brought a new Wifi adapter, both seem to give the same results.
- Resource Monitor doesn't show huge amounts of activity. Network utilization is at around 19% when running a speedtest.
- My PC specs are as follows:
MSI B550 Tomahawk
AMD Ryzen 5 5600X 6 Core 4.6Ghz
Gigabyte RTX 3070 Ti 8GB GAMING OC
Crucial Ballistix RGB 16GB (2x8GB) 3200Mhz CAS 16 DDR4
I've rebooted the router, scanned for virus'/Malware, changed the wifi adapter priority to 2.4Ghz and back to 5Ghz. I've even up'd the amount from the provider to 500Mb/s. Nothing has changed this.
Can anyone think of something else I may have missed that could cause this?
I have a z790 UD AX motherboard which I just installed a new SSD and installed windows on it. In my boot settings I don't have the option to boot from it, only 2 of my old drives. If I enable CSM it shows up but windows 11 won't boot without Safe Boot enabled
I have this issue which I thought was hardware from my previous headphones as they were wired, but I just bought a Logitech Pro X 2 wireless headset and I have the same issue as before. I afterwards tested it with a 3rd pair of headphones and I still got the issue. Same with my airbuds. So that would exclude the possibility to be the headphones so what could it be?
Keep in mind I tried cable, bluetooth and the normal RF USB from the headphones.
I even completely formated my pc and installed fresh windows. Issue still persists.
So can't be software, can't be the headphones themselves, can't be the port as I tried multiple.
My final guess would be the motherboard even though I cannot for the life of me explain it. But it seems like the last thing that could be.
Please tell me if I am missing something.
CPU and motherboard are: AMX Ryzen 3900X and X570 aorus elite
I'm not even sure how to tag this post as it could be either hardware, software, audio or windows.
Edit: forgot to mention it is most noticable with voice as it seems to mostly ignore other sounds like songs. Mostly happens on discord. When I tried recording it online I couldn't, but on the Windows Sound Recorder I could hear my Audio Output faintly.
Recently my display has this weird glitch out of nowhere where it kinda partly freezes on the lower side and give this weird bar any idea what causes this?
Its a dual Monitor Setup
I swapped the cables and it didnt change anything
As the title says, when playing games in full screen my cursor isn't locked to the monitor the game is being displayed on. this means anytime I look too far to the right my cursor is now on my second monitor causing me to tab out of whatever game I am playing. I noticed this first in Halo Infinite and later had the same problem in Rainbow 6 Siege.
Every article or forum post I find with the same issue is from 8 years ago. Does anyone have any modern advice or solutions? I am on the current version of windows.
For some reason, whenever I use my ASUS laptop, it has ridiculous lag whenever I full screen something. I can shrink the window, and it will work as smooth as butter, but when I full screen it, the ~2 second lag comes back. Is there any way to fix this? I basically can't play full screen locked games.
Hi, Every after a few minutes, my laptop will get a blue screen with different stop codes , One was "driver_irql_not_less_or_equal" and now my laptop is showing me a new bluescreen that is probably think is hooked up to the system, it only says that "win32kbase.sys" failed. Please if you know any info kindly reply as I need this for school.
Built my PC a few years ago and installed Windows 10. Everything worked great including the Bluetooth. When I upgraded to windows 11 all of a sudden my pc just no longer detects Bluetooth at all. None of my Bluetooth devices work and in settings > devices I don’t even see the option to turn Bluetooth on or off.
Any ideas? I’ve installed the latest motherboard drivers. It’s an ASUS ROG board.
Hello, Been having a problem with my pc crashing while booting into a game on valorant. Sometimes the pc just freezes fully i have to hold the power button to turn it off nothing else works. And sometimes i get an blackscreen my headset says disconnected and then if i wait for maybe 3 minutes my pc has restarted. I have tried to install new Nvidia drivers. Here are the event logs that i found right before the blackscreen and restart. By the way this happend as soon as i booted into a game in valorant.
The only things in my event log is
ID:6008 EventLog
ID:161 Volmgr
ID: 41 Kernel
ID: 1101 EventLog
ID: 28 Kernel
ID: 6155 LSA
I have ID: 2 NVIDIA Open GL Driver aswell but these warnings where not at the same timestamp as the crash 7:00 and my pc crashed at 8:00
Would gladly appreciate help tell me if i can somehow give you more information if this was not enough. I have also done a full power recycle on my pc aswell.
Hello, I was just doing random browsing... I randomly opened the HWinfo app, and I saw that 13700k was thermal throttling even in low temps. Image: https://imgur.com/a/13700k-thermal-throttling-low-temps-jX1LXKF
My PC is struggling to with WIFI and I don't why, I'm getting around 20Mbps on my pc and about 115 on my phone, meanwhile my roommate gets around 900. I think it might be a PC issue but I dont know what to do. Ive reset my network settings, checked my PC for malware, gave it a clean boot, messed around with command prompt and still nothing. I use my PC for gaming and it makes it really hard to do so. Even running an ethernet it still doesn't compare to what my roommate gets. I pay way to much for my internet to not be able to use it. Any help would be GREATLY appreciated.
plsssssssssssssssssss help
Hello everyone! I have been dealing with this issue on my instagram account that will not put the images on my feed fully in the frame.
This only occurs on posts with multiple slides and it seems to be about an inch off full frame, almost creating a “transition” which is extremely annoying. I would attach an image if I could but I see that I am unable to. I have tried deleting/reinstalling, (which fixes it until I close the app and reopen it), I have tried removing my account and I have tried reporting the issue despite instagram not having a live chat.
It is extremely frustrating but any advice would be much appreciated! Thank you in advance!

I'm trying to help a friend installing windows and nothing seems to work out.
Issue:
While installing from a pendrive with Windows 10, the PC freezes or restarts randomly. Usually it happens during the installation, between 75 and 90%.
What we tried:
- Using Windows Media Creation Tool both ways (the direct bootup installation on the pendrive, and the ISO using Rufus, either NTFS and FAT32)
- Installing on another HDD instead of the SSD.
- Using chkdsk on both the HDD and the SSD, and even though they gave no errors, sometimes running the command would freeze the PC or restart it, so we don't know if that was random or not.
- Legacy and UEFI boot, setting the disk to MBR or GPT.
- Using MemTest86 to test the RAMs (both same model, 2400mhz).
- Trying different BIOS versions (motherboard is A520M-A PRO).
- Trying different pendrives.
- Testing 1 RAM per installation.
- Testing 1 SSD or HDD connected at the time.
The CPU is Ryzen 5 5400g.
We really don't know what else to try =(, so any other possible explanation would be very helpful, thank you in advance.
Seems like I am apart of the masses of players whose PC’s are crashing. Mine doesn’t seem to be DirectX related, however. Until about 4 days ago, I was able to run the game fine. Randomly this past week my game would crash without warning (no freeze or no fps drop). The crash would be a green screen follow by my entire PC shutting down and yellow mobo light coming on.
Am I alone in this specific issue?
Currently on Xbox Game pass PC MB= ROG STRIX B450-F CPU= AMD Ryzen 5 2600 RAM= 32GB DDR4 3200 MHz GPU= AMD Radeon RX 7600 XT
edit: in mobile, sorry for formatting
Hey!
so recently pc has been crashing when doing cpu intensive tasks, I noticed this when trying to run a vm in vmware. I decided to stress test my components in case anything is wrong, but my cpu fails every test except for cinebench. I've tried occt and prime95, and both of them crash, when they reach cpu #5. Also my cpu never goes above 73 degrees, it just sits there until it crashes.
I've checked the windows event log, and it says absolutely nothing other than my pc shutdown unexpectibly.
But the weirdest part is that I can still play games, well I've only tried Euro truck simulator 2 and minecraft, but both of them run, at max graphics and high framerates. So I'm just confused.
What I've tried: check that all power connecters are connected. Switch to a wall outlet. disable PBO. Disable EXPO.
Any help is appreaciated.
Hi guys,
My cs2 randomly lost perfomance and started lag littlebit, maybe some fps drop. Do any have same problems after patch or have tips to fix issue :(.
I've had my laptop for just about a year now and it was extremely good in the beginning. I had no issues, and I could play just about any game with decent fps. It's not horribly slow now, as I still use it for work, but I'm unable to even play Minecraft at the moment with its speed.
I'm not exactly sure what the issue is, as I'm not great with hardware, but I downloaded HWiNFO to give me an overview of my laptop's performance. There are some red variables in Core Thermal Throttling, but I don't really know what that means, or if that is even a problem. Hoping someone can give me better insights as to what could be the issue, and possible solution if ever.
Here's the Imgur link showing the HWiNFO: https://imgur.com/a/BY8rLej
So long story short, I work and maintain printers, but recently my boss wanted me to low level format a HDD for a printer so that we can reinstall its software. The printer creates it's own partition tables during installation. So I'm a bit confused as to why exactly a LLF was needed... Any advice is greatly appreciated!
hi sorry i don’t know where else to post this because r/steam has a no tech support rule apparently

Hi everyone!
I have an exe file that was working perfectly fine, and then one day all of a sudden it wasn’t opening.
I’ve turned off windows defender/realtime protection and redownloaded the file. I’ve also included the file in exclusions under virus protection.
I’ve noticed that if I use my mobile internet connection, the exe file will open and run properly but when connected to my home network - it doesn’t work.
One fix I noted was that if I reset my modem and then connect my pc to my home internet network, the file will open and proceed.
But if I close the file, it won’t re open again.
Is something flagging the file?
Any help would be appreciated. This is extremely frustrating!
This is a weird one, because I can't find any guides about it.
I'm on windows 10, and I know how to get the GPU column in the Task Manager's processes tab to show up (though I still don't know how to get GPU info in the performance tab). However, when I close Task Manager, then bring it up again, only the GPU and GPU Engine columns get removed. They're there for a split second, then disappear. All the other columns, even the ones I don't normally have active, work fine; they stay active until I deactivate them.
I also checked if my GPU works, and it does. When the Task Manager does allow me to have the GPU data up, it shows GPU usage when I play a game.
Why would Task Manager do this, and how do I fix it?
When I have Titanfall 2 in fullscreen, if I then press the windows key to minimize it, microsoft edge in fullscreen shrinks to a tiny box. This does not happen with firefox. How can I fix this (It is driving me crazy)
I have a DECOGEAR sound bar. It starts up and plays fine, speakers don’t sound blown or anything. After a few minutes it’ll go silent a minute or two later it’ll come back for a short period then silence again. Never powers off. Happens when I use the optical cable or if it’s in blue tooth. If I turn it off and back on it starts the process all over again. No weird noises before it goes silent, it’s playing fine then silence. I opened it up and there was some debris on the motherboard, I blew it off and tried to clean it up as best I could and I thought for sure the problem was fixed because it went longer without going silent but here I am sitting In front of my silent TV yet again. Any clue why it would be happening? I’d prefer to fix it if possible.
Hi, I just tried to format pc everything was normal as usual. I deleted all drives and create 2 drive one for windows one for D and make next step windows logo came, then wait a moment screen on blue background I thought next step gonna be Hi screen and I will see my formatted new Windows 10 but I dont. It keeps getting “Unexpected Kernel Mode Trap” Blue Screen error. I have tried chdksk commands, sfc scannow commands, tried dism command but didnt work for me. Tried formatting again but still getting same blue screen error. Any suggestion or help?
so, my graphics card is a gt730, i heard its not THAT bad, but it performs poorly even on low end games, it run minecraft at like 5 fps and less than 1 chunk load ( i don't have a clue how the chunk number got lower than one, but it did, i can see half a chunk and only get 5 fps, even though i was on 1.12.2 and with optifine and no other mods) so i GUESS its related to my cpu, maybe my ram? so here is the specs, cpu : Intel(R) Core(TM) i7-4770 CPU @ 3.40GHz 3.40 GHz ram : 16 gb ddr3 ram, obs: i checked, as far as i know my graphics card drivers are up to date, idk about the cpu drivers tho
