What do we anticipate for the VIX price action tomorrow? Currently at $16.43.

Skyrocket, stay level, or slight bump up?

Futures have apparently plummeted, seems too predictable for it to skyrocket, but can’t imagine anything else.

Full transparency, I’m heavily invested in volatility and an approximate 1,000x increase would be acceptable!

If you are bad at stock picking, maybe you should go all in ETFs

I'm not good at stock picking, I find this activity very complicated. So after doing some research I came across ETFs, they are great by the way. Easy way to diversify a portfolio.

I tried studying about value investing(like Warren Buffett, buy and hold stocks), but it's very hard so I decided to quit recently.

I think I will stick to ETFs in the next decades, my plan is to DCA monthly in a stock ETF like VOO or VT for about 30 years.

Book

I read John Bogle book a few days ago, "The Little Book of Common Sense Investing: The Only Way to Guarantee Your Fair Share of Stock Market Returns", good book by the way, it's about index funds, ETFs and the stock market. You can read this book in one or two days, I recommend reading.

Possible Buy Signal for SMCI?

NEWS: Chief Accounting Officer Kenneth Cheung of SMCI was just awarded 80,000 stock options. Is this a sign of progress with BDO and audited financials being submitted this month as planned? This could be big for SMCI getting better debt options in 2025. What do ya'll think?

For those wondering how SMCI, dropped to the price it's at today I listed a short timeline. Some of these reasons were unfounded before and the remaining reasons have yet to be proven. Whenever there's money to be gained, I'm skeptical of both sides. Just my two cents. Not FA.

  1. Hindenberg released its report 8/28/2024 right after NVDA went down 7% after earnings due to concerns that massive growth was unsustainable (which turned out to be plain wrong). Before this, SMCI and NVDA mirrored each other's daily price changes.
  2. This DOJ report in September 2024 led to a 10% drop that was quickly bought back up in 2 weeks.
  3. The drop that actually mattered was the one in October 2024 which confirmed that E&Y backed out which has now been priced in. If this turns out to be without legitimate cause, there may come about counter lawsuits against E&Y.
  4. It's most likely numbers were fudged a bit like making deliveries early to meet earnings goals which is different from pretending there are no orders to begin with. In either case, the price is low for a reason and the goal of SMCI will be to restore its reputation this upcoming earnings 2/3/25.

TSLA Earnings and How It May Be Bullish for CLSK

NEWS: TSLA earnings were SAVED by the FASB reporting change which allowed reporting BTC price at market value of 12/31/2024 ($93.3k per BTC) on Q1 2025 reports. Unlike MSTR which may be subject to tax issues, ChatGPT says this same FASB rule change will help BTC miners like CleanSpark improve accounting presentation for their own BTC holdings.

I will be holding CLSK throughout this riffraff. Current EPS projections do not account for the FASB rule change so a lot of bears are in for a rude awakening when earnings come out. Shorters may likely begin selling their hedged BTC to buy and hold CLSK. The sooner retail realizes this, the sooner shorts will cover.

BTC price this week has NO effect on CLSK Q1 2025 earnings. Ignore FUD and DO RESEARCH. You have the world's info at your fingertips. CLSK beat growth targets and hit 39 EH/s by EOY. CLSK is growing with liquid cooled S21 XP's which stay cooler and thus require less maintenance/fixing (less payroll per EH/s).

EPS is likely to beat projections based on the improved accounting rule. The market is fickle but NUMBERS DO NOT LIE. Look, it's been tough holding CLSK this year but the one thing I know is to never trust emotions. The fact that mining is so cutthroat is partly why only the most efficient like CLSK will be able to make it.

Everything is BAD

Deepseek has ushered in a new era where China is demonstrating that it can compete with the United States in the field of AI. As a result, we are entering a form of trade war where cost and efficiency take precedence over the glorification of a supposed American monopoly on AI.

Trump is going to impose tariffs on everyone. American companies will have to spend much more on imports. Trump has admitted that the coming months will be difficult. However, he has failed to understand that no country can be entirely self-sufficient.

By imposing a 25% tariff on Canada and Mexico, he is penalizing U.S. businesses. Worse still, Canada has refused to back down and has imposed equivalent tariffs, with some Canadian companies even deciding to ban U.S. products. In other words, U.S. businesses will have to pay more for imports while facing greater difficulty in exporting, given that Canada is the United States' largest importer. Canada is also prepared to take measures reminiscent of COVID-era restrictions to allow its businesses to adapt to this new vision of trade. Some even advocate closer ties with the EU to facilitate trade.

But that’s not all: The CEO of Nvidia, already struggling to find a new solution for his business model and maintain high profit margins, has now been informed by Trump that chipsets produced abroad will also be heavily taxed…

And next in line is Europe. The only "good" news is that in Europe, courage has been absent since 1930. We have a courtier mentality: weak with the strong, strong with the weak. I highly doubt Ursula von der Leyen will act as Canada did.

Edit : At the same time, the U.S. economy is slowing down, with GDP growth weakening and inflation remaining persistent and resistant despite the Fed’s efforts

In any case, everything is turning red.

Me explain options

People buy stuff. Companies make stuff. People buy little pieces of company.

Some people buy many pieces. Get scared. What if company bad? Go to bookie. Ask bet on company fail. Bookie take money, say "If company do bad, I take company pieces, give you money." People feel better.

Other people notice bookie. Say "You give money if company do bad?" Bookie say "Yes if give me money now. Must do bad soon. If not soon, I no pay." Other people say "how soon?" Bookie say "You pick day". Other people pick day, give bookie money. If company no do bad before day, bookie keep money, other people sad. If company do bad before day, bookie pay.

More other people notice bookie. Do opposite bet. Ask bookie money if company do good. Bookie take money, pay if company do good by day.

Some people gambling addict. Ask bookie many bets. Some no understand. Bookie say "be careful", but sometimes whisper. Sometimes yell. Still some people no hear. Lose much. Angry family.

Bookie sometimes evil. Charge too much. Bookie tell people "bring me other people, I overcharge, we split profit." Bookie become too strong. Control much. Some people want do right thing, bookie threaten, point gun.

People know, no care. System rigged. Want win Capitalism.

Some still win. Do good. But sometimes cost much. Most lose.

Some win money, lose soul. Others lose money, gain wisdom. Hope for net positive. That way win life.

NVDA Analysis For Next Week

The beginning of every month since October NVDA has rallied. NVDA is in a key area here as well as this is the first test of a major demand zone. NVDA already bounced and took out the .28 retrace to end the month. If NVDA moves the way it has been since October and respects this level I’m predicting a rally back up to 136.50 (at the very least) next week.

Quantum usefulness by 2029

Pravir Malik, Ph.D. 3rd+ Systems Thinker, Technologist, Adventurer | Founder at QIQuantum | Leader, Forbes Technology Council's Quantum Computing Group I had the privilege of hosting a Forbes Technology Council global event on quantum computing. The event featured an insightful presentation by Dr. Scott Crowder of IBM, who shared IBM’s vision and strategy for quantum computation. Here are three key highlights from the discussion that stood out to me: 1️⃣ IBM’s Approach to Error Correction: Dr. Crowder provided insights into IBM’s error correction philosophy, offering a contrast to Google’s recent claim that the Willow chip reduces errors as more qubits are used. 2️⃣ Confidence in Useful Quantum Computers by 2029: Dr. Crowder expressed confidence that practical quantum computers will be operational by 2029, a stark contrast to NVIDIA CEO Jensen Huang's more conservative estimate of 15–30 years.

Is anyone buying gold or investing in gold ETFs like GLD?

I think you all know why I'm asking. The imminent economic instability looming over our heads seems to be forcing a lot of people including big investors to cash out. Are they just holding cash or are they investing in other forms of monetary value like gold to hedge their funds? Does anyone have experience with investing in gold or other precious metals? For example, I saw Costco is selling 1oz bars and 1000 gram bars right now at a reasonable price compared to the current value of gold and thought about selling shares to buy some. Please let me know what you guys think. Thanks in advance!

Q4 2024 GDP Growth Exposes Harsh Reality: Economic Stability Relies Heavily on Rising Budget Deficits

The GDP growth figures for Q4 2024 are remarkable because they highlight the deadlock situation of slowing economic growth alongside a rising budget deficit.

The budget deficit in Q4 amounted to about 10% of GDP. GDP growth compared to Q4 2023 was 2.3%. At that time, the budget deficit was around 7% of GDP. Therefore, if the budget deficit in Q4 2024 had remained at 7% without increasing, GDP growth would have turned negative.

In other words, the economy is still being prevented from sliding into a recession solely due to continuously increasing fiscal stimulus/budget deficit.

Where find ^CASHUS?

I'm trying to run a Dual Momentum exercise (https://finimize.com/content/sharpen-your-edge-a-simple-guide-to-sector-momentum-investing). I’m getting similar results to those in the strategy for all tickers, but when it comes to calculating absolute momentum, I can't seem to get it right.

I'm starting to think my issue might be because I'm using ^IRX instead of ^CASHUS (which should give similar results). Can anyone help me with this? Do you know where I can find historical values for ^CASHUS? yfinance and advfn don't provide historical data for some reason.
