I thought the holiday game usually launched around Red Cup Day but that passed and now we’re into December. Is it not happening this year?

Does anyone know if this is the same syrup Starbucks uses for their apple crisp oatmilk chai?

I thought I’d be a great fit at Starbucks, but after an interview I received an email stating that I have not been picked for the position. They seemed excited to give me an interview. :/ I’ve worked plenty through my life and am desperately searching for a job right now. Any explanations as to why I wouldn’t be picked after an interview? Thanks. :/

was having a totally normal interaction with this guy at the drive through order screen and at the end i repeated his order (grande hot americano w cream) and asked for his name and he was like “uh a name? how about FUCK YOU” and said it so aggressively. like wtf?? i was so stunned i couldnt even speak, what am i even supposed to say to that? luckily my manager was on headset and heard the whole thing and he took over and told the guy to beat it and that we wouldnt be serving him today. seriously though, if you dont want to give your name literally just say that. or give a fake one, bob works just fine!!

anyways this is just the first name anyone has outright sworn at me like that before completely unprompted and unprovoked. such an odd thing to do.

And so here it goes i happily clocked in at 4am to just to now try to clock out for my lunch and the app was not working :) how amazing!! 😭

There are people that work at my store that have worked for Starbucks for longer than me, but I'm the only OG barista at my store. I'm the only employee left who has been at my store since it opened, and I was hired specifically because this store was opening.

I asked my SM if I could write a small farewell message on the syrup shroud telling people that I would be at a different store. The response I got made it seem like my SM doesn't have the backbone to tell me no, because the response I got was "we'll the shroud is either supposed to be blank or holiday themed". So basically no.

The point of this post is to ask: Should I do it anyway?

I swear last year this was made with green tea, peach tea, and lemonade but this year every time I order it I get two tea bags that are chamomile. And it tastes way different. Did they change the recipe or is my Starbucks doing it wrong? If they are out of ingredients I’d rather they just say that instead of giving me a drink that doesn’t taste right.

has anyone ever done asu through starbucks and then went on to finish their degree elsewhere? i know we get free college online but i genuinely CANNOT do online school, my brain needs the stability of in person classes (plus unt offered a LOTT of aid lol🙏🏽)

I used to really enjoy the Irish cream cold brew that Starbucks put out around the holidays but it hasn’t returned in recent years. I keep hoping every year it may return… but I’m thinking I might just need to accept the fact that it’s gone.

I can’t find a way to do it without immediately being considered a jerk. Suggest a barista check their menu cards or the app to see that you aren’t ’trying to get extras for free’ and you are immediately going to hell. I absolutely understand the sort of pressure baristas are routinely under but as a customer I’d like my drink made to the recipe card — that’s how everyone involved knows that the drink will taste the same anywhere in the entire world. (It doesn’t help that Starbucks released three new foam toppings that have no association to a drink, such that there is no association to adding syrup to the cup as with the OG vanilla sweet cream cold brew….)

little rant: i understand that no one wants to work early on a sunday morning but PLEASE why is there two call outs almost every sunday. we’re perfectly staffed and if just one person calls out, we’re screwed. we cannot turn off mops and deliveries unless we get the okay from the dm and sometimes it takes a while before we get it and we’re a HEAVY mop store. i just want to be able to take my break at a proper time 😔

Just a post to remember them forever. Literately what I’ve lived on for the last 4 years. I’m glad I have another 40 or so left. I had them on Amazon subscription and was recently canceled. Sad times

So they upped prices and pointed to special officers - which are gone? Here just to say the only thing worth the cost is the customer service. I have bought thousand plus drinks, and can only rave. The employees so good/kind/efficient that I feel guilty for cutting back. Starting to think it’s Starbucks only effective strategy. Thanks guys!

Hello~ so I was wondering if yall thought it was worth to get that golden wicked keychain for a friend since mine is a fan of starbucks and wicked, but i couldnt get it in stores so was looking at resellers (ugh) . I just dont know what the back is supposed to look like? i keep seeing posts saying the back is scratched off which makes it sound like it looks really bad or offputting so now i guess im just debating about if its worth it? Sorry I just dont frequent starbucks to know much.

I just needed to put this out there… I’m a Sbux barista and I NEED to know if anyone else doesn’t understand why we use full amount of pumps for the pep mocha. Like the amount of syrups that is in that cup is TOO much!!! At the pos I always end up asking if they want the full amount of pumps because I feel like it’s necessary for them to know that they’re getting up to TWELVE pumps of syrup depending on the size! I mean baristas iykyk

hey everyone! i was a barista from 2020-2023 and my drink has always been the same as when i got my mark outs. i typically get either a BOSE with 1 pump white mocha or i get a quad blonde over ice with brown sugar and white mocha (i usually do 4 brown sugar and 2 WM for the pumps). i’ve gotten both drinks recently and each time it’s been super bitter and i cannot taste the brown sugar flavoring at all. i also went to a different location in my area and the same thing happened. the drink used to be just the right amount of sweet and coffee taste now all i can taste is bitterness. i’m wondering if maybe they are giving me the regular espresso instead of blonde or just not enough pumps of syrup. has anyone noticed the syrup tasting differently? or are the drinks just being made incorrectly?

Just curious about some of yalls favorite delicious low cal recipes?

Some SSVs and SMs are soooo nitpicky where they hover and criticize every little thing. I understand standard, but it'll be the most random things. One SSV told me I must stick to the "script" as the DTO. She'd get mad if I clarified names to make sure I'd get it right. She gossiped to other baristas I was pretending to be stupid.

But then there's so much more for the newbies.

I've hit them back when people go overboard, "Nitpicking is considered against the standard for our harassment training. Please follow Starbucks standard." That always works.

Another example is getting ping ponged with "coaching." The SM will politely ask me to do something, and then a SSV will come in with an attitude to tell me I'm doing it wrong. At least be polite and not condescending when I'm literally following instructions from the SM.

And don't get me wrong, I almost follow everything to a T. I never batch blend(at most, two talls). I'm pretty good at my job since it's been a while now.

But some SSVs especially have way too much of an attitude. I get paid to work. Not to deal with petty behavior.
