Can I find something like this in Negomboo. If yes, where and what other local food should I try in Negombo?
I want to upgrade my laptop RAM from 8 GB to 16GB. Any good place to get this done within one day in Colombo ?
I have 3 packages stuck at the local airport for days and 2 other packages now since October. Yanwen courier service is horrible. I decided after 3 of my packages having no progress in delivery that I will never order from Ali express again because their delivery is not guaranteed. Specially a waste if they're expensive items. Does anybody know how to speed up the delivery or anything? Customer agents are all bots and not helpful
Hey where I can buy some petry dishes with or without PDA, isopropyl 70%, PDA Powder, laminar flow hood and alcohol burner in sri lanka
As the title says folks, I'm looking to purchase an Xbox Controller. Any idea from where I could get one here in SL?
Hi,
Not sure if this is the right sub but couldn’t find a specific one for UK Sri Lankans. Does anyone know of a Poruwa rental company for a wedding in the South of the UK?
Thanks
I watched Ho Gana Pokuna ages ago when it was on the TV but now that I want to rewatch it again, couldn't find any way to watch it other than a 240p version on youtube, which is disappointing for such a good movie. If you guys know any good streaming sites, I would appreciate it alot. :)
What do you guys think is the best steal in this year’s sales in Sri Lanka? I’ve been waiting several months for this and a lot of people I know do so as well.
Hello everyone,
I'm planning on backpacking Sri Lanka but unfortunately, I only have 9 days. Do you guys have any recommended routes and places to visit so I can maximise my whole backpacking experience in the said country? I am quite interested in exploring the West and East areas as well as South. Thanks!
Hi! Doing 2 weeks in Sri Lanka traveling round, we have booked some trains but mostly private transfer between destinations. Will have to get the occasional tuk tuk but realistically can I do this with a suitcase? Not an enormous one but bigger than a carry on size. I’m not backpacking exactly and don’t really feel like a backpack is for me. But what are the logistics of trying to get a suitcase around, on trains and on tuk tuks ?
I watched the whole episode and I got to say I feel proud that he is the president of Sri Lanka, even to watch him talk is a pleasure. The amount of knowledge and accuracy in his answers to any question put forward to him is and his plan for the country is sterling, and my opinion about the NPP have totally changed I hope them coming into power will bring the change we all have been dreaming of for years since our school days🤞🏻
I've been doing freelancing as a software engineer (mostly full stack web projects) for the past 4 years and was able to save ~5000,000LKR to start something else. I had the thought of using this money as a capital on making 2d games for steam for a long time but was afraid of the thought that I would fail and I'd waste money on that.
On the other hand sometimes I want to join a local company and work as a software engineer. but most of my friends who took this path advised me if I join a company I won't be having any time to do any freelancing or start on my indie game projects.
truth be told, I never completed my degree (it was a private campus and I did not have enough money to finish it). most of the things I know, they are self learned. I do not know how the companies take that for granted. but the head of staff on the company which I lasty worked as a contractor, told me that he would mail me an experience letter so I could prove my work and get a job here.
please help me which one should I pick! Software Engineer Job or Indie Game Dev?
man I'm so sorry if I said something wrong or offended any people who are working in the industry 🙏🏽. right now I'm at my lowest point in my life and I really need some advice from experience people.
Can anybody suggest me a better laptop for my studies.(I'm going to choose software engineering.)
Note: Currently I have a ROG STRIX G16 2023 laptop Due to some issues (Motherboard burnt-out; But I fixed that- Stil I'm having trust issues on that laptop.) I'm going to sell it and buy a better one.
Is my Idea Good or Bad?
Hello! :-)
I'll be visiting Sri Lanka for 3 weeks in December. Two weeks of them will be spent with a group of friends and a local guide doing a motorcycle tour around the country, during which we'll also visit some of the 'usual' attractions like Sigiriya and Anuradhapura.
After this I have another 7 days to spend in the country, which I am currently trying to fill, for example by asking the wisdom of the Sri Lanka Subreddit. ;-)
The idea I've had so far is to combine maybe a day or two at the beach in or near Negombo (by necessity those 7 days will need to start and end in Negombo, because this is where the tour ends, and my flight leaves very early on day 8 from Bandaranaike), with a slow, train/bus-based round trip:
Negombo -> Colombo -> Kandy -> Nanouoya/Nuwara Eliya -> Ella -> Matara (or perhaps Galle?) -> Negombo
But overall I am not particularly fixed to that itinerary. If someone recommends something different, or suggests that perhaps the train back to Colombo and then down along the coast would be more enjoyable than the bus from Ella to Matara/Galle, or a cab (which is an option) instead, I am quite willing to hear that! :-)
What do I hope to get out of those days? Mainly to spend some slow-moving time seeing the country, local culture and food. A couple hours on a train watching the country-side go by, and afterwards maybe having a hike, some sight-seeing or just reading a book sounds perfectly fine. I don't really have that much requirement for comfort; as long as you don't stick me in an overcrowded unreserved carriage I am likely going to enjoy it. :-)
Thoughts and ideas?
wondering how far it would go if i want to file a complaint regarding someone who shares misinformation about a person. does it go as far as being able to sue them?
this is a whole other question but what laws do we have regarding degrading people on online platforms? hope the lawyer crowd would see this
I want to know if anyone has any experiences with the warranty claim given by disrupt. They seem legit and It seems like the keyboard I got hexgears M2 might be have a manufacturing defect. Let me know how the warranty experience went.

(Screenshot from the friend I sent the voicemail to. I got the prompt to leave a message after the beep thing.)
Hi all! We’re visiting Sri Lanka from December 23rd to 26th with our 8-month-old and are excited to explore! We’re planning to see Pinnawala, Seetha Temple, and Nuwara Eliya, and would like to stay somewhere between Nuwara Eliya and Colombo to make the journey comfortable for our little one on the 2nd day.
Could anyone suggest other family-friendly spots between Nuwara Eliya and Colombo (excluding Kandy) that also offer good hotels? A 1-night, 2-day itinerary that covers the highlights would be fantastic. Thanks!
Hi all, as the title says I'll be working remotely in Colombo at a place that hasn't fixed an internet provider yet. This hasn't been set up in the building yet.
What's a good temporary package I can use for 2-3 weeks? I need something that's strong from 2 pm to 6 pm, even through to 10 pm for mostly emails, browsing, the occasionally video calls and running web apps. My work would prefer I stay connected to their VPN as well.
I was thinking of buying a mobile package and hotspotting via mobile if the connection is decent.
I'd be open to using internet cafe if anyone can give me some suggestions.
Priority is speed, easy set-up and something temporary, ideally cost-efficient too! :)
US appears to now claim that Iran is linked to the alleged threats to Arugam Bay.
When you put it into the context of recent escalations with Iran, an upcoming parliamentary election, a newly elected president (with the instability that comes with government transitions) as well as past US behavior towards potentially uncooperative governments, it's highly suspicious to me.
They could very well be aiming to use our ports/bases for strategic purposes. Also given the fact that RW sent a boat to the Red Sea as a part of a failed coalition, its not too off course.
What's you guys' opinion on this?
Never been to Shangri L or any other 5 star hotel, can we simply walk in without having to place reservations and have a look around?
I am visiting Sri Lanka at the end of the month for 2 weeks and have come up with the below rough itinerary.

Kandy (2 nights)
Ella (3 nights)

I have the usual "Sri lankan blessing" of having 5 long ass names which is a bit hard to work with where i am at. Could someone guide me on how I can remove 2 of my names.
For context, I'm from France originally and I'm of Ceylon Tamil descent and I've lived in quite a few countries (France, Switzerland, US, Czech Republic, Germany) and I've travelled a lot too.
I've met Sri Lankan citizens in all of those countries and they all tend to be Sinhalese with the rest being Tamil. (I'm not talking about those of a Sri Lankan descent. Just current citizens).
Then, The ones of Sri Lankan descent tend to be of Ceylon Tamil desscent
I haven't met a single Sri Lankan Muslim abroad and I don't know whether there is q specific reason for that or whether this is mostly anecdotal/dependent on the places I've lived in and visited?
After the forthcoming AL examination I plan on delving into stock and such, while I know the basic gist of it the finer details on how to get into it seem to escape me. so what advice do you guys have and what resources should I read up on to learn the basics? any advice will be appreciated
New into console gaming so wanna know if ps5s are compatible with a tv & if so what tv models are perfect for it.

A few of my friends are thinking about putting up a stall in a food court in Colombo.
Please tell me what is one food that you would want to eat there?
