Hi,
I need to specifically buy a Windows/Microsoft laptop for work. Where's best? I'd ideally like the newest Microsoft Surface Pro.
Dear Sri Lankan Redditors,
As the title says, what's a car brand/ model you've used and can recommend ? Usually in Sri Lanka, Toyotas have a good reputation and I can personally vouch for that as well. Have used an Aqua and we would load it with 5 adults+ bags and go to Nuwara Eliya and come back to Dehiwala and it would still have more than half a tank of fuel remaining.
What are your recommendations ?
Hey Reddit fam!
Hope the new year is treating you all well!
I’m a 26M working in the marketing field from Monday to Saturday, and I usually get Sundays off. For the past three years, I’ve been wanting to play and practice football since I’m really interested in it. However, I haven’t had much luck finding a good coaching center or club through Google.
I’d really appreciate any recommendations for places where I can practice football as a beginner. Ideally, I’m looking for options in or around Wellawatte, Bambalapitiya, Kollupitiya, or Dehiwela—either on Sundays or early mornings on weekdays.
Thanks in advance for your help!
I gotta go with my boy Rookantha and Mama ahuwa horen

Planning to buy a phone and some accessories from abroad and bring them back to Sri Lanka. After the IMEI number and the whole TRCSL regulation thing, how do I bring a phone from abroad to Sri Lanka? Is it possible now? If so, how do I get registered with TRCSL?
Hi Everyone,
Say hi👋 if you do onlyfans for living or as a part time hustle ? And what and who made you get into onlyfans.
Expats & travelers in Sri Lanka add you comments too.
Here’s what happened to us: At the station’s ticket counters, scammers told us our online ticket was “not valid for Sri Lankans” and insisted we visit an “official” IRCTC office for help. They sent us to 11A, Connaught Circle, a so-called Tourist Information & Reservation Office, where they tried to charge us ₹16,000.
This scam is a common thing and after researching I found out many have fallen victim. So I’m writing this post hoping more Sri Lankans are aware of this if they ever decide to travel to India and use the railway station.
Hi, I’ve recently lost my wallet with my NIC and Driving license. I somehow managed to make a police complaint & the police report
What should I do to retake my NIC and Driving License? I really need the License asap I can as that is the main source for my Job.

Looking to buy something for my girlfriend to ease her period pains. Are those hot water cushions actually helpful?
If you don't mind, please share what these degrees were and if doing dual degrees helped.
I advertised my newly bought iPhone 16 Pro 256GB for sale on Ikman, as the battery capacity was not enough for me (I thought of getting the Pro Max instead). I received a call from a person named "Chamara Bandara," asking about the price and details. I told him everything, and we agreed to meet at my house.
That same evening, he came to my house. He looked decent, and I asked where he worked. He told me he worked at the Customs Office. At that moment, I gained trust in him since he seemed like a decent person with a respectable job.
He inspected the phone and said everything was fine, but he could only pay with his cash cheque from NDB. I hesitated a bit, but he convinced me, saying it was his personal cheque book and even asked me to take a look. I thought about it for a while and asked my dad to come. Eventually, I was convinced because he claimed to work at customs, and I agreed to accept the cash cheque, despite my dad warning me not to (dumb me).
I took a picture of his NIC and received a cash cheque dated for the very next day (January 31st). The next day, I got a message from him saying not to cash the cheque yet, as he had a few other cheques clearing from his account. I was fine with it since it was the 31st, and businesses often have such transactions.
A few moments later, when I called him, he said the same thing and kept stalling the whole day. Still, we had communication in between. I asked him to meet me or return the phone since he didn't have the money, but he kept saying, "Sure, I'll get back to you," and then cut the call.
Today is day two without my phone.
We spoke with a friend who knew a police officer and asked for help sorting this out. The officer called him and asked him to meet at 2 PM to sign a document ensuring that he would pay us. However, the person didn’t show up. Now, he has spoken to the officer and said he will come tomorrow morning and pay a percentage of the total amount.
Why are people like this? I trusted that person—I even helped him set up Apple IDs and other things. I was being so nice, and he still lied.
We later found out that he is not from Customs and had lied about it. What can I do about this? We haven't filed a case yet because we don’t want to put him in trouble.
What can I do to get my cash or phone back? What are my options besides filing a complaint or blocking the phone?
Compared to universities in the UK it's much cheaper here in Sri Lanka. Obviously I know I'm missing out on the Uni life and its environment and facilities but the student advisor seemed to praise it highly. They also said we'll have internships which when I asked past students (quite old ones) they said they didn't have any internships. How are the professors? The teaching, lessons, assignments?
Also, I'm planning to work in the UK as a corporate lawyer so has anyone succeeded being a corporate lawyer in the UK after getting a LLB from RIC and doing the relevant other qualifications?
I badly need real advice so any and all is much appreciated! (Pls be brutally honest too)
My girlfriend and I have been planning to go to the gym for a while, but we haven't found a good place yet. Since we both attend different universities, the university gym isn't an option for us. I'm looking for an affordable and friendly gym that would also be comfortable for her.
I did some research online and came across some troubling one-star reviews where female customers complained about male instructors touching them inappropriately and asking for their phone numbers. While it would be great if my girlfriend could have a female trainer, we would be okay with a male trainer as long as the staff is professional and respectful.
Have you guys seen this model in any local shops or Nolimit outlets?

I’m flying to Sri Lanka from Europe and wondering how the e-visa control works upon arrival. Do they just stamp your passport, or is there a more thorough check? Also, if someone has a criminal case in their home country, would that be flagged during entry?
hi all, my sister has recently got into nail art and i want to gift her some good nail products but don't know where to find it. any suggestions?
I'm F,28 and Muslim. I'm 5'4 and I'm chubby/thick-curvey and every Sri Lankan man I have come across is not into thick girls! What's up with that??? I don't need anyone to say I need to lose weight or ask me to "make changes then", no I'm actually okay. But what's the deal? I have been asked by men from Somalia, Egypt, well most African countries or even some men from US for marriage proposals. But I really want to marry a Sri Lankan as it's my culture/heritage and I want to marry someone within my culture. When it comes to Sri Lankan men they just want to marry a skinny light skinned girl... Should I just give up on marrying a Sri Lankan and just marry a different ethnicity. I live in the UK so my friends are from different countries and they a my size, and majority married to Africans. My mother also doesn't care where the guy is from at this point! What should I do just marry anyone who would like me or keep trying for Sri Lankan?
Considering the outpouring of sympathy we've seen on the chicken thread and the elephant thread, I'd love to know how many of us actually care enough to stop eating other animals?
Also, where do you draw the line, is eating meat/fish okay? what about using animals other than elephants for domestic work (horses, buffalo etc)?
If an animal is ethically killed for consumption, how do you feel about its litter being left without a parent?
I’m traveling to Sri Lanka to visit my 12-year-old cousin and want to bring a LEGO set as a gift. I’m not sure what he’s into right now, but a few years ago, he wished for (and got) a little remote-controlled helicopter. This time, I have a smaller budget (max 35€).
The set needs to be small enough to fit in my suitcase and fun for his age. I was thinking of LEGO Speed Champions and can’t decide between the Audi Quattro S1 and the Ford Mustang. Which one would you recommend?
Also, do boys in Sri Lanka generally appreciate LEGO? I know it’s not as common there as in some other countries, so I’m wondering if it would be a good gift choice.
I also need a gift from Europe for a 13-year-old girl Any suggestions for something fun or meaningful that fits in a suitcase?
Would love to hear your thoughts!
Not all women, majority of whom i have seen. Just stand still when a person is trying to move in the bus when they are trying to get off/on. Not to mention how they tend to drag along their handbags and or other items without a care in the world bashing the seated people in their face.
P.s. Men aren’t any better. Just that a lot of women tend to do this from what i have seen
IK this is gonna sound rude but I wanna gift something to him which he will use and motivate him to take on a self investment like something to help with further studies, a side hustle or help get better jobs.
Hes in the Immunology field also goes to gym so no use buying sports equipment.
If so is there any places i can get them? Is it legal in sri lanka to bring?
