Have you ever wanted to buy a game on Steam but didn't know if it was good? Have you ever had just enough money for an indie game but didn't know whether it was worth buying? Have you ever asked yourself, "Should I buy this game?"
Have you ever wanted to buy a game on Steam but didn't know if it was good? Have you ever had just enough money for an indie game but didn't know whether it was worth buying? Have you ever asked yourself, "Should I buy this game?"
Then you're in luck. Here, you can ask others questions about any game on Steam or any other game on any console, whether it is about the graphics, the plot, the game play, or even the length.
Do not open links to games sent to you through PM, as these often contain malware
1 - Help Us Help You. When asking for a recommendation, help us by providing context to your question. Give us details about what types of games you enjoy, which games you don't enjoy, and why you're unsure about your purchase. People can't help you make a decision if you don't express yourself. For this reason, we require all posts to be at least 300 characters long. Why Does Rule 1 (Help Us Help You) Exist?
2 - You may not make threads on unreleased content. People can't give you a recommendation on something that no one had the chance to try out.
3 - Touchy Subjects, Appeals: In the cases where the mods have a problem with your conduct and there's no specific rule, moderator decisions stand. For disputes please Message the Moderators.

Paid mods fall in this category, but free mods generally are fine. This goes for both comments and posts. Please read Why Does Rule 6 (No Emulation) Exist?

i already made a post of cyberpunk, but im really indecisive between these two games. Cyberpunk is like a safer route because the mechanics are already introduced in previous games and it seems exciting to try the "peak" version of it now on pc. But question is of its open world - is there much exploration to do or is it more combat based experience only. And baldurs gate - seems fascinating but im worried that the game mechanics, as new to me would be hard to adjust and if it doesnt captivate me - it would be a loss. My previous favs have got to do more with story driven - third person shooters, tho i dont mind the first person as well. Thoughts?
Usually i play games like Elden ring, doom eternal, cyberpunk 2077, the witcher 3, and eso this are games that i seem to replay over and over again. I wanna buy one of those two but im not sure what is more fun and betetr game overall for replayability , whitch one would you advice based on the list that i said before?
I am between neon white, pizza tower and tunic.I like all three of them but i only can buy one for now. I like the fast paste gameplay of neon white (because i have also play ultrakill) but i want to explore the vast world of tunic and unfold its secrets. However, the speed running feeling of pizza tower is very appealing and interesting. What should I buy?
As a fan of Skyrim, I've long harboured a curiosity about one of its predecessors: Morrowind, and separately (but apparently released in the same year 2002) Arx Fatalis.
I am actually drawn in, not turned away, by the early 2000s graphics (let's just say I'm older and I have an acquired taste for older looking games). The greater complexity of the systems, plots, plus the reduced amount of hand holding appeal to me. I also particularly want to get more into fantasy lore as well as magic systems (I know Arx requires players to memorise spell patterns). When it comes to ARPG I am mainly used to Skyrim (which has a lot of hand holding) so I'm sure playing either will require some patience and getting used to, but I'm hoping that will lead to a much more rewarding experience in the end.
If you've played either would you still recommend them in 2024, are there other games which you would recommend over these? Are there any mods which should be used even on the first play through?
Yeah, another question about BG3, I know. The thing is, I love games with deep stories, memorable characters and impactful decisions, old BioWare games (Kotor, DA, Mass Effect Trilogy) are among my favorites, also I liked Cyberpunk, Witcher 3 and BioShock. Seeing how much content there is in BG3 I am sure in that regard that's a game for me.
BUT
I don't like too complicated mechanics, for example I preferred Dragon Age Inquisition over Origins and I had absolutely miserable time in Kingdom Come Deliverance so there's that. I play games for their stories and I mainly use a gamepad so there's no possible to remember millions of key combinations and menus. Do you think I still would enjoy BG3?
Edit: sorry for the typo in the title.
I've played:
Rsident evil games
Silent hill 2 remake
Remedy's games (Quantim Break, Alan wake 1+2, Control)
The Evil within 1+2
Uncharted
Tomb raider reboot trilogy
The Last of us
I have't played dead space yet but I'm planning to play it.
Is there anything else I haven't played?
Is tm db sjen
Kingdom come: deliverance or mount and blade: bannerlord. Which game do you think is better?
They are both currently on sale on steam, and I am trying to decide on which one I should pull the trigger on. Generally I like RPGs and both seem to hit the spot pretty well.
Does anyone have some pros and cons of each?
I'm a religious man, I pray to God everyday and when I have time I go to church and pray to the Lord. I can't truly say I'm a perfect man, I haveany issues that I work through, both through prayer and through proper therapy to better myself.
On the other hand, I really want to increase my game frames per second because of how frustrating it is when I try a new game only for my frames to dip below 20. I normally enjoy games at 30fps but my standards have shifted to 60fps, but my PC isn't up to snuff with the latest games and their requirements, and I can't immediately afford new parts to improve my rig.
The Bible is a great way to have the Bible in my home without buying the actual books, and comes with various editions that I've yet to read.
Lossless Scaling seems to improve erformance for games on PC without nuking the graphics to extreme hell where you can clearly see the pixels on a 3d model rendered in 4K.
Which should I choose, I genuinely don't know.

Hey everybody! I was looking into the steam autumn sale and found a couple game that peak my interest with the sales those being;
Planet zoo-$15.78 Prison architect- $2.99 Bot wars- $7.49 Jedi survivor- $17.49 Subnautica- $9.89 Palworld- $22.49
If anyone has anything to say about any of these games (good or bad) it would be greatly appreciated! Thank you so much!!
I got over $60 dollars burning in my steam wallet and I love metroidvania games so I would like some recommendations! I prefer if the game has combat but I don't mind if it doesn't. I'm also interested in metroidvanias that have unique mechanics.
List of games that I already own:
Carrion
Death's Door
Grime
Haiku, the Robot
Hollow Knight
Islets
Nine Sols
Ori (both games)
Rain World
Tunic
Unbound: Worlds Apart
Wuppo
Yoku's Island Express
I'm looking for games like Prey 2017 or System shock 2 where you have to use your wits and creativity in order to survive.
I always like to use my head in game where i treat everything like a puzzle and be satisfied where my ideas work.
(Note: I don't like games with base building or big survival mechanics. I prefer open zoned or linear games.
I've already played Bioshock and Dishonored)
I have $20 to spend on a game and both are on sale right now for twenty bucks but I'm having a hard time deciding because Robocop looks like a lot of fun, but so does Resi 4.
Some info that might help you help me... I enjoy 80's action movies but I wouldn't say Robocop is my all-time favorite, though it's (IMO) undoubtedly one of the best to come out of that decade. The gameplay I've seen looks fun, gory, and true to the movie. The destructible environments, blood that spatters against the walls and runs down, and good gunplay are all very enticing to me.
As for RE4 Remake, I have played the original but never finished it. I got to the point where you're at some castle and enemies are shooting big explosive balls at you with trebuchets and then I got bored of it. I think the remake might pull me back in, so I played the chainsaw demo just now. I had a lot of fun round housing those townsfolk to the face and the game looks damn beautiful. I also tend to rage at Resi games sometimes but it makes me laugh 'cause I just act like it's prettyboy Leon being inept and not me. It feels more like survival horror than the OG thanks to the facelift it's received, and I like that.
Both games look like fun shooters that I can just turn my brain off and go ham, with light puzzles/investigating here and there and a protagonist that delivers cheeky one-liners (although I'd argue Robocop as a character is a million times more bad-ass). I really wish Robocop had a demo. Idk if telling you my favorite games would honestly help you help me much but my top 5 games of all-time? Probably Dead Space (OG), Fallout: NV, MotorStorm, Battlefield 1, and Manhunt. So which one? Robocop or Resi 4 Remake?
Edit: I decided on Robocop. It's awesome!! The details in this are better than I anticipated, the gameplay is really satisfying, and I like these little side quests. Thanks everyone for your input!
I’ve always been a keyboard and mouse player, but a lot of the games I want to play nowadays require a controller, so I was wondering which controller I should get (the only experience I have with controllers is when I played Lego games on my ps3 back in 2014 lol)
Some of the games I’m gonna be playing with this new controller include: Steep, F1 2024, RDR2, Outer Wilds, GTA V, Sea of Thieves, and No Man’s Sky. As you can see, I really won’t be doing a lot of fps shooting haha
I’m looking for a high quality, long-lasting, and comfortable controller that is preferably also easy to get the hang of.
I’ve had my eyes on the ps5 (dualsense) controller for some time now since it seems to fit these requirements relatively well, but since I’m a newbie to controllers I would really appreciate some advice/recommendations from you guys!
This looks up my alley, but a bit long for this type of game. I like relaxing platformers with mellow soundtracks and good visuals (among other genres), but I usually prefer them to be "single serving" experiences that can be played through in a night or 2. HowLongToBeat.com clocks this at like 11 hours. Is it good enough to hold my attention for a week or so?
A few Shorter, simpler indie games I've enjoyed, to give an idea of my tastes:
Sea Of Solitude
Those Who Remain
Brothers: A Tale of Two Sons
Inside
Gris
Journey
Chants of Sennar
Contrast
Immortality
Unravel
Planet of Lana
Shady Part of Me
Edith Finch
Thomas Was Alone
Abzu
Drowning
Rime
Etc .........
Looking at getting something off the psn Black Friday sale. I’ve just finished astrobot and I’m after a high quality single player game to play through. At the moment I’m considering cyberpunk and the last of us 2. I’ve played a trial for both games a little while ago and enjoyed both but never felt a want to buy either of them.
I didn’t really take to cyberpunk because I was playing Elden ring at the time and was burnt out with games, but it seems to be the type of game I would definitely enjoy.
I’ve also played the last of us 1, and have been intending to play 2 since it came out but never got around to it. I personally felt the last of us was a tiny bit overrated despite being a great game regardless. But I do love naughty dog games.
Or is there something else on the sale that anyone thinks is a must play and good value? I’m open minded.
I recently got some extra money and was wondering if helldivers is worth it I looked at some gameplay and it seems fun but I don't know if it's worth the money or should I get a good quality headphones I mainly play cod overwatch apex legends assassins creed and fortunate just wondering if it's a game with buying or if I should get headphones 🎧 instead thanks ahead of time
Title pretty much says it all. I’ve played a lot of RPGs both turn based and action so not new to that genre but I’ve never played a jrpg before. Both of these are on sale on steam so figured I’d give one of them a shot. FF16 has me interested because I think the person who worked on the dmc5 combat worked on it and I loved dmc5. But FF7 is often named as one of the best games ever so feel like I should give the remake a shot.
Edit: I ended up going with FF7 remake, thanks for all of your input! Seems like it probably plays better with a controller too, so I think I’ll go that route. Also might have to try rebirth after it since people say that one is even better!
I used to love grindy games with huge replayability to get the maximum time played per dollar even if that extra time is grindy repetitive stuff or filler. But with less and less time to game, I find myself gravitating towards games that are more focused on quality experience over all else and which can be enjoyed in little parts at a time.
Some games from that exemplify this for me are Cyberpunk 2077 and Cuphead.
For Cyberpunk, the immersion is so good that you can still get right in the thick of it with short sessions. Storytelling is amazing, gameplay mechanics are great, and the pacing and progression is steady so that just doing the main story + major side stories is more than plenty to finish the game.
For Cuphead, again the mechanics are great as well as the music. There is no fluff in the game and everything feels like it adds a lot of value. It’s difficult and took a lot of tries for some of the bosses, but the difficulty was fair and it was very enjoyable to work on improving.
So I am not exactly looking for a short game, an easy game, or even any type of particular genre. But just a game that is really solid throughout.
Here are some games I am considering based on the types of games I like:
I would say mechanics and gameplay feel are most important to me. I’m less interested in puzzle and escape room type of games because of that (though Portal is an exception since the gameplay is incredible). I miss playing shooters hence Halo and Titanfall on this list, but it seems like a lot of the shooters are multiplayer or Destiny/Warframe (which I used to love, but of course don’t tend to what I’m looking for) Games like RDR2 interest me, but I’m a bit wary of the slow pace.
Any recommendations?
Preferred genre tags: adventure, narrative, exploration, investigation, puzzle

##Games that didn’t quite click with me(with reasons):
A=B: Bought as part of a bundle with Baba Is You. I tried this game right after 100%ing Baba Is You, and it felt more like a chore/assignment than an enjoyable game. I might give it another go in the future.
Don't Escape: 4 Days to Survive: I enjoyed the gameplay and storyline but found the protagonist too egotistical for my liking.
There Is No Game: Fun gameplay, but I didn’t like the narrator.
The Stanley Parable: Ultra Deluxe: Similar reason as above.
Little Misfortune & Fran Bow: Interesting gameplay, but the horror elements felt too gruesome and vulgar.
Oneshot: Not a fan of RPGMaker games.
Observation: Forgot the reason. I’m reinstalling it as I write this post.
The Sexy Brutale: Played for 10 minutes and added it to my long waitlist for games to play. Didn't grab me.
Disclaimer:
The above ratings reflect personal taste rather than objective gameplay quality. Some titles may not strictly align with the story-rich puzzle game category but are included to give better insight into my preferences. The list is not exhaustive of my library, as I’ve omitted games played on different platforms (mobile, Nintendo, etc.) or in different genres (Mass Effect, The Witcher 3, etc.).
Thanks in advance!
I had to stop playing BG3 because I keep making a new character around Act 2 and I kind of burnt myself out so Im looking at these 2.
I originally started this search for some fun base building type games. Something that will keep me playing until Avowed comes out.
Enshrouded seems interesting. I like the mix of combat, rpg elements, and base building.
On the other hand The Planet Crafter looks like Subnautica in space, which I had fun playing. But I read in a review that it starts off like that but kind of ends up like Satisfactory. I had fun with Satisfactory until it started to become tedious.
I know it’s not available yet heard it’s coming to console next year does anyone know any similar games on ps5? I already have car mechanic simulator but this one caught my eye my laptop can’t run the game good enough so if anyone can suggest me something similar I’d be more than happy I already also own all the nfs games
Ok so Civ VI is currently $6 dollars and I'm almost certain going to buy it based on a recommendation from a friend after saying I enjoyed mindustry, and I enjoy strategy/building stuff. What I want to know is if the DLC is any fun. The bundle on steam right now is is $16.30 including the game, so would play about $10.30 for the DLC. For context, I'm a bit of a stingy gamer, so it really has to be worth it for me to buy it, which is why I am making this post. The bundle contains the following:
Sid Meier’s Civilization® VI
Sid Meier's Civilization® VI: Vikings Scenario Pack
Sid Meier's Civilization® VI: New Frontier Pass
Sid Meier's Civilization® VI: Poland Civilization & Scenario Pack
Sid Meier's Civilization® VI: Australia Civilization & Scenario Pack
Sid Meier's Civilization® VI: Persia and Macedon Civilization & Scenario Pack
Sid Meier's Civilization® VI: Nubia Civilization & Scenario Pack
Sid Meier's Civilization® VI: Khmer and Indonesia Civilization & Scenario Pack
Sid Meier’s Civilization® VI: Rise and Fall
Sid Meier's Civilization® VI: Gathering Storm
Sid Meier's Civilization® VI: Maya & Gran Colombia Pack
Sid Meier's Civilization® VI: Ethiopia Pack
Sid Meier's Civilization® VI: Teddy Roosevelt Persona Pack
Sid Meier's Civilization® VI: Byzantium & Gaul Pack
Sid Meier's Civilization® VI: Catherine de Medici Persona Pack
Sid Meier's Civilization® VI: Babylon Pack
Sid Meier's Civilization® VI: Vietnam & Kublai Khan Pack

There is also another bundle which is $9.70 which has the following
Sid Meier’s Civilization® VI
Sid Meier’s Civilization® VI: Rise and Fall
Sid Meier's Civilization® VI: Gathering Storm
Sid Meier's Civilization® VI: Vikings Scenario Pack
Sid Meier's Civilization® VI: Poland Civilization & Scenario Pack

What are y'all's thoughts?
Hey everyone,
Up until fairly recently all I really played were competitive games. Very, very ignorant to narrative driven or even most single player games.
The last 4 games I've played have been, in order of how much I enjoyed them.
Cyberpunk
The Witcher
Lies of P
50 hours of Elden Ring. I just couldn't get into it, which I hate. I guess I just need more direction, I was confused basically the whole time.
Really hoping a bunch of people who know more than me can point me the right way. Only criteria is needs to be PS or Xbox, bonus points it it's on gamepass.
Thanks so much
I work the night shift 2 times a week for 6 hours. I have a Steam Deck and am looking for something to help me burn the hours. I can also bring my laptop to watch a TV show so it doesnt have to be story oriented. Please nothing depressing. I am currently playing Halls of Torment and loving it. Something grindy and repetitive would be cool. Thanks !
Okay, I have read a slew of threads and I'm still not really clear on what the best approach is for integrating Phantom Liberty into Cyberpunk. I've never played this game and am about to start my playthrough. It is highly unlikely I will play it more than once.
Should I play with Phantom Liberty from the beginning, or beat the game and then install Phantom Liberty and play it? What was the design intention of it?
With the release of Veilguard and how mixed it seemed to be- I am thinking of getting Origins. I have been seeing it everywhere with people saying its the best Bioware game to date tho I don’t think it beats ME2 but we’ll see. How’s the gameplay of Origins? How’s the story and characters? My favourite game of all time is Witcher 3 and tbh the only RPG I ever managed to finish along ME trilogy. Thanks for reading.
Hello guys. I really wanted to buy and play a Souls Like. I've played almost all the Souls like games out there but not yet the Star Wars Jedi saga and the new Lords of the Fallen. They both seem very interesting to me but I just can't decide which of the two to buy and play. thank you for your answers.
