This is a subreddit for Shopify SEO questions, tips, guides, blog posts, etc..
Moderated by the staff at Ecommerce SEO Team
Don't spam - Feel free to post links to your own blog posts or content but don't make your titles click-baity or overpost.
Don't be a jerk to people asking questions - Not everyone is an SEO pro overnight, this sub is for everyone, even beginners. If questions get repetitive we'll make a sticky.
Comments should add to the conversation - No "inbox me" comments or other comments which are designed to directly sell a service/product or are otherwise off topic.
Links in Comments - Must be to a useful resource, not a purpose-built landing page designed to sell. Example if you have statistics on a sales page and a stand-alone page link to the stand-alone page when citing those statistics in a comment. If you only have the statistics on your sales page then do not include a link in your comment. Small CTAs at the bottom of blog posts or resource pages are acceptable as are modal popups and notification bars on content.

bought a 2nd domain, right now it only redirects to my main store home page (I want it to redirect to a collection page) wanted to try out exact match domain strategy, but only came to realised that I can't change the content of it
Is there a way to edit the page? my main goal is to treat the 2nd domain as like a blog post website and link to the main store collection page
really new to this, would appreciate any help/guidance on what to read up
Hello!
I’m a Business Administration student at Haaga-Helia University of Applied Sciences in Helsinki, Finland, currently working on my bachelor's thesis about dropshipping. This questionnaire is designed to gather insights from beginner dropshippers around the world, though anyone with experience or interest in dropshipping is welcome to participate.
The survey is entirely anonymous, and no personal data will be collected aside from your responses to the questions provided. Your input will be invaluable in helping me understand the early experiences and challenges of starting a dropshipping business.
The questionnaire is found at the following link: https://forms.gle/m4yZGKKx5hvqCb2N6
Thank you for taking the time to share your insights!
Anyone can help me find a good template or layout free of cost for my blog posts on my store, default Shopify template doesn't look attractive
Found this cool resource. It compares Shopify themes and shows which perform best. It ranks them based on core web vitals and some other metrics. https://themevitals.com/themes/
The store specializes in jewelry accessories. It has been open for about 2 years. There are currently no orders and no traffic. How should I deal with it?
Hi guys. I film a relatively short video about keywords qualification process. Mess with an audio a little but still imo It makes sense for a lot of ppl to watch. Will delete it soon... Planning to refilm with a better audio.
I’ve seen some posts absolutely blow up on here, and I’m curious—what factors contribute to something going viral on Reddit?
Is it all about timing, content type, or specific subreddits?
Any tips or strategies from those who’ve experienced viral success?
Hey Everyone!

Scaling SEO for large e-commerce sites can be overwhelming when you’re managing thousands of products. What strategies are you using to ensure your entire product catalog is optimized? Are there any tools, automation, or processes that have helped you streamline this? Looking for insights from those dealing with large-scale e-commerce SEO!
Is it the shop app? This seems to be many of the items listed in my navigation on the shop app, but I’m not sure.
I’ve seen mixed opinions on whether blogging is still an effective SEO strategy for e-commerce sites in 2024. Some say it's crucial for building authority and driving organic traffic, while others argue it doesn’t convert well for product-focused businesses. What’s your take? Are you using blogs to boost SEO, and if so, how are you structuring your content to drive both traffic and sales?
Structured data like product schema, reviews, and breadcrumbs are becoming critical for e-commerce SEO. I’ve implemented it on my site but haven’t seen huge changes yet. Has anyone experienced a significant boost in rankings or click-through rates after adding structured data? What’s been the most effective type for driving results in your e-commerce store? Any tips for optimizing it further?
As Google continues to prioritize user experience with metrics like Core Web Vitals, I’m finding it tricky to balance SEO optimization with providing a seamless shopping experience. How are you optimizing for search rankings while ensuring a smooth UX on your e-commerce site? Have design changes for better speed or mobile-friendliness impacted your conversion rates or SEO performance? Would love to hear some tips or insights!
With Google introducing AI-powered search features like the Search Generative Experience (SGE) and other engines following suit, traditional ranking methods seem to be shifting. Has anyone figured out what works best for ranking in these AI-generated search results? Are the usual strategies like backlinks and content still as effective, or are there new techniques that you're seeing work better for AI-optimized search?

Hi Community!
With the rise of AI tools like ChatGPT, Jasper, and Google's Bard, content creation has become faster and more automated. But how do you think this shift will impact SEO in the long run? Do you believe AI-generated content will dominate search rankings, or will there still be a strong demand for human-written, value-driven content? What’s your strategy for balancing AI content with traditional SEO techniques?

I am new to seo and I have three questions that have been confusing me for a long time, you guys are experts who have been doing seo work for a long time, please help me with my confusion.
First: those domains that have more than 2k traffic per month on semrush. What exactly is their natural traffic strategy? Are they getting a lot of traffic from a few pages that rank in the top 3 for a long time? Or do they have many, many pages and it's uncertain which page will rank in the top 3 when?
Second: For the same keyword, if I write a greater number of articles? Then the more clicks I can get? For example, for the same keyword, when I have ten articles, I get 2 clicks per month, and when I have 100 articles, I get 20 clicks per month. Is this the truth?
Third: I find it hard to get clicks on product detail pages, compared to blog post pages. So how can I improve the ranking of my product detail pages?
Hello! I have spotted from broken CDN pages and to reduce these errors, I want to redirect them to the normal pages but I’ve read up that it can’t be done the normal way? Does anyone know why that may be?
We're wondering how can we add a badge/label to the menu items on a Shopify Store. We're using Dawn theme. An example of what we're looking for is below:
I am moving website from custom CMS to Shopify, my colleague is telling me that I don't have to do redirects if the URL structure remains same on another CMS, I have to just change DNS setting.
IF the URL isn't changed and we just change the CMS, we don't need to make redirects, is it correct?
Which one do you use with what results :
Seo Ant ? Booster seo ? Avada seo suite ?
Or something else ?
Thank you
I’m running a small business, and our current website is built on WordPress and hosted with SiteGround. We hired an SEO agency last year, and they did a good job improving our rankings. However, we found their services a bit too pricey to continue.
We’re now thinking of moving our website to Shopify, but I’m worried about how this could affect our existing SEO work and rankings. I reached out to the SEO agency for advice, and they mentioned that switching to Shopify could impact things like URL structures, which might lead to a drop in our rankings. They also said Shopify has some SEO limitations compared to WordPress, and a lot of the on-page SEO elements (sitemaps, title tags, headers, etc.) would need to be carefully transferred.
My question is, has anyone here made a similar switch from WordPress to Shopify? Did it significantly affect your SEO performance? Is it worth the switch, or should we stay on WordPress to maintain our rankings? Any tips on how to handle the migration to minimize SEO damage would also be appreciated.
Thank you :)
Do I need an H1 tag or does the title of my product page take care of that? If it means anything, I'm using the Dawn theme. Thanks!
