Not sure where to post this, though I think the idea should be far and wide. Trying to pin Trump down by "proving" he actually planned the insurrection riots is a mistake. They won't be able to do that. They can say he dragged his feet in responding. That's about it.

What needs to happen is legislation that targets making unfounded claims. No legislator, much less head of State, should make sustained, unfounded claims about verifiable matters of fact. We should not be hearing about Trump's "election lies" in the news as if that's a normal thing.

There have to be rules of arriving at a determination of true malfeasance. Opining doesn't yet amount to a full out unfounded claim. The unfounded claim must be repeated. It must rise to a certain level. It must have to do with matters of fact that are verifiable and, most likely, have been verified.

It's that simple. Going after Trump as if he actually plotted the insurrection is a mistake and is likely to fail. Going after Alex Jones for unfounded claims was successful in civil court (so far). Unfounded claims in medicine are crimes. They must be made so in politics/governance.

My compensation per the current draft of the charter will remain $0 until the following annual board member election. While my position will be uncompensated, I will retain the right to use retained capital for necessary travel expenses.
