As someone who goes to the theater a few times a month, I do get tired of watching the same trailer again and again before a movie starts.*
It’s sometimes fun to see certain trailers in a theater, but I normally know if I’m interested in seeing a movie without watching the trailer. Plus, some trailers spoil, so I try not to watch too many for that reason.
However, if there are no trailers before a movie, how would the average moviegoer know what other movies are coming out that year? I know many people who aren’t aware of a movie’s existence if they haven’t seen a trailer. And where are they most likely to see a trailer? Before a movie because they don’t watch them on YouTube or wherever else (I recognize this is anecdotal to my own circle, but I imagine the sentiment applies more broadly to an extent).
So, I think this is something that would overall do more harm than good, because less people would be exposed to what is playing in theaters.
*Additional info: If I go to a movie on my own, I usually try to time it out to miss the trailers and show up as the movie is starting. However, I usually go with someone who enjoys watching the trailers, so I find myself watching with them.
One of my friends' brothers once told me that he thought Dwayne 'The Rock' Johnson was the best actor alive. I immediately started laughing until I realized he was being completely serious. What's the funniest/worst movie take you've heard from someone you know?
I put in my first 21 days of horror/ thriller movies that I have never seen. And these are the horror movies that I have seen with my rating.
I noticed a lot of people were extremely negative that Jahns would review “Am I Racist?” When he is a film reviewer who reviews new theatrically released movies, which it is. The film is a send up of individuals who make money off the “guilt” of white people.
The Sardonicast crew also reviewed “Run, Hide, Fight” which is another Daily Wire production. They were very negative on it (haven’t seen it so I can’t speak to it).
Is the reason most film community members are unhappy with Jahns is that he liked the movie and gave it a somewhat positive review? As has been pointed out many times many films have political ties to them and political undertones. Is the issue that this one is more on the surface?
Once again I have seen the film and has nothing to do with belittling POC but rather the people who make money off of the “guilt” of white people.
I don't mean leaving the podcast, I know he said he was going so he could focus on his Youtube. Whether thats true or not, I mean in general. He's just so... out of it now?
In his heyday (Mystery Diners, Ghost Hunters, etc.), he was very animated and very interesting to listen to. He had a RLM-style vibe and was good at balancing being funny with offering his take on films.
Then at a certain point its like he just clocked out. His participation in podcast eps got very subdued and his input became just "Yeah. I mean. It is what it is, what do you expect".
You see it in his Youtube too, which has gone from actual reviews to just rambling unscripted in front of a webcam. Even his twitter is just "Wow, this films made x dollars at the box office." and nothing more. Dude's a zombie.
I used to love horror. Gore and violence never bothered me. The last few times I've tried ti watch horror, and it really got to me. I was able to get through "Pearl," but whenever violent horror came up, I was immediately taken out. I watched "Audition," and it just made me feel like shit. Tried watching "Halloween," one of my favorites, and the first kill made me turn it off.
I have no idea what could have caused this change. Has anyone else here had a major change in the kind of movies you enjoy?
If you are going to see a movie in an empty theater and there is one other person, do you sit next to them to keep them company?

I’ve been meaning to watch this movie for a while knowing Adam loves it and that it’s very very weird. Should I watch it high on weed or would it give me a bad trip?
In the Alien: Romulus episode, Adam mentions that he wrote his most recent song in a dream, and transcribed and recorded it when he woke up. Does anyone know which song this is? I'd guess it's one in the 10 Years album because as far as I'm aware, Adam hasn't recorded any new songs in a while, but I don't know and I'd be interested to see which one it is.
