Driving from LA to SF this weekend with friends and we wanted to take the scenic route up Highway 1. Because of the road closure on Highway 1 around Big Sur, here's our route starting in Santa Monica:
PCH through Malibu, then the 101 until Greenfield to take the G16/Arroyo Seco Rd/E Carmel Valley Rd for some valley views back to Highway 1 in Carmel-By-the Sea, then Highway 1 until the Golden Gate Bridge.
However, we're sad to be missing Big Sur and Rocky Creek Bridge since it's such an iconic spot on the drive. Is there a way to still see them with the closures? Like some sort of southern route from Carmel/Monterey? We don't mind any detours or long backroads - we aren't going for speed here lol

Join the Galactic Fringers for an epic May the Fourth Be With You event! We're throwing an intergalactic extravaganza fundraiser for the nonprofits New Hope Creative Alliance and Hope Refuge.
Soul Bites, one of the preferred Cantinas of the Outer Rim Territories, located in the heart of the Star Port city of Santab'Arbara, will be the hoppin' hub of happy hyperspace hijinks as the club is transformed into an intergalactic cantina, hosting space faring scoundrels, wise mystical warriors, droids, and interstellar life forms of all kinds.
The evening will feature live music from Cuddlefish, Ulysses Jasz Goes Hanna, and Trout Club; themed dance and comedy performances (including dancing Twi'leks and a Wookiee comedian!); a force-sensitive fortune teller, lightsaber demos, an interactive spy story, a costume contest, silent auction, food, drinks, and more!
The event is on Saturday, May 4th at Soul Bites (423 State Street) in Santa Barbara. Door open at 6pm, performances start at 7pm. All ages!

Hi there! Traveling up from OC in May and husband and I are curious as to which wineries are truly kid friendly.
I saw some on a list and as I navigated to their website it said children needed to stay seated for the duration of the reservation.
Which, if any, can my kids run around at 🤪
If that’s no option, we don’t mind grabbing bottles and taking them back to our accommodations
Hi everyone,
My name is Chay Comas, and I write this newsletter to promote game clubs, upcoming events, individual organizers, and game stores for the geeky communities of the Central Coast.
If you enjoy playing Board Games, Cosplay, Dungeons & Dragons, Warhammer, LARPing or community activities and news, consider checking out the newsletter and subscribing to the club :) (It's always free to everyone)
There are a lot of exciting events upcoming for the Central Coast in the next few months:
It's also a great way to find a local club or meet local gamers, with over 30 clubs represented along the Central Coast and links to their groups and club info.
Enjoy!
Anywhere sell iget bars near the entrance? Dm me please thanks
Hey! My anniversary with my girlfriend is coming up, so I wanted to go on a mini vacation with her. We're both still finishing college, so we can only vacation briefly. I'm planning on 2-4 days. I have about $1000 saved up in total specifically for this and was looking for recommendations on where on the central coast to visit. The only place that's not in mind is Arroyo Grande because she went there a couple of months ago, but she liked the city's vibe, so I'm asking here for what other towns, sites, and nature to see. We live in SoCal, btw, if that helps in any way, but thank you for your help!
Looking for some new recs. Tyia :)

hey guys I was looking for a recommendation for a pretty secluded beach I could take my dogs to run around at. They love the beach but aren't great with people, somewhere 30-45 min of Avila would be great!
California’s native succulents. So much better than ice plants !
I want to share how amazing my dad has been in my life. In college I was already physically disabled. During one semester my back was messed up more than usual. My father dropped me off, carried my backpack into class, would get me settled then go wait in the car. When class ended he'd come help me get up carry my bag and continued this for an entire semester for all my courses. He never complained. Just wanted me to keep positive and finish my coursework. I thought I should share today because now he has dementia. I can't talk to him anymore because he doesn't really understand who I am. I miss him. So much.
