/r/Sat
A forum to discuss the SAT and forms of preparation for taking the test. Please use this subreddit to ask for and offer help and to discuss both the exam itself and news about the exam.
Rules
1. Be nice. Constructive criticism (“You should try to raise your math score if you want to apply to MIT”) is fine, but cruelty, bullying, and harassment are not.
2. Discussion should be on-topic. All posts should have some clear connection to the SAT. Requests for homework help and generic inquiries about college applications belong in other subs.
3. Post titles. Post titles should be substantive. Single-word and all-caps titles are not allowed; neither are low-effort titles like “Please help.” When asking for help with questions from tests or books, include the source of the question in the post title. Examples of appropriate titles might include "Help with writing question from Bluebook Test 2" or "Help with question from Erica Meltzer grammar book."
4. No crowdsourcing of easily Google-able information. If you are wondering when scores are released or whether you can use your favorite calculator on test day, please use a search engine before asking in r/SAT.
5. No unanswerable or excessively subjective questions. Do not ask whether your score is “good” or whether it is “possible” to improve by a given number of points within a given time frame. Do not start new threads asking for score predictions; score prediction requests are permitted only in the official test day and score release discussion threads.
6. No advertisements or solicitations. Do not use r/SAT to promote free or paid products or services. Do not use r/SAT to promote your website, app, social media profile, or YouTube channel. Do not attempt to circumvent these rules by telling users to PM you or to contact you outside of the sub. If you need clarification, please contact the moderators.
7. No copyright infringement. Do not post links to, or otherwise direct users to, pirated versions of books or other resources under copyright. Posting images of individual questions is fine, provided that the images do not display watermarks or other evidence of piracy.
8. No account sharing. Do not offer to share, or ask others to share, login information for any subscription-based online test prep services or products.
9. No cheating. Do not use r/SAT to circulate any leaked test content, and do not use r/SAT to request or offer any sort of cheating assistance. Anyone caught using the official test day discussion threads to solicit or offer time-difference-based cheating assistance will be immediately and permanently banned.
10. Post and comment in English. Because English is the only language that all moderators can read, all posts and comments should be in English. Sorry, but we have to be able to moderate the sub, and we cannot moderate posts and comments that we cannot read and understand.

Why is this? How do I do so well on the PSAT, and screw the SAT so badly?
Yo like i wrote my name wrong when I was registering for my sat examination so will I be able to write my exam it is in 2 days
I'm taking the SAT this saturday (12/7) and Im very bad at english. I got a 650 in the august sat. Ik this is late but I really need tips on how to do better on english. Especially craft and structure, and standard english conventions. What do i do?
Just found out UC's are test blind after getting a 1580 in october and have like no extracurriculars. Are there any scholarships or opportunities that require a high sat like this?
I probably should have known this before I spent a bunch of time studying for the test
Hey everyone!
I'm taking the SAT on December 7th, and I have one query regarding ID verification on test day. My govt. official ID has a picture of me when I was a kid, while my school ID has my latest one which I believe pass every requirements of "acceptable photo ID".
Will it be fine if I bring my school ID for photo verification and govt. ID as an additional to verify my first & last name?
I just wanna sure that everything goes smoothly on test day.
I haven't finished my khanacademy's course test because i heard it is much harder than the actual SAT, and i haven't finish or retry the mock tests on bluebook (practice test 6 left).
My scores are still average 600 for both math and english, and i need minimum 1350 for my university.
Please help me.
I recently took the SAT test while applying for summer programs to have better chances of getting in or at least know what I need to work on in senior year if not. I am a junior rn. I got a 780 in math but only a 720* in reading/writing. I want to raise it to 760 at least. Any tips on doing so? I don't know how hard it is to do. I have about a year until I apply to college. My GPA is not the best due to some major personal issues when I was 14 and mental illness so I want my SAT to be high.
i gave november sat and got 1370(710 math, 660 ebrw) how could i improve can someone give me a structured plan i have exhausted bluebook test
For some reason, does practice reading section seem harder than the other practice tests? I got a 730 on practice 1 reading today, but literally a couple days ago I got a 770 reading on practice 6 and a 750 on practice 2
Will I get into community college?
Guys, please mention platforms where I can take practice test for free and it's accurate as well. I already finished bluebook test and really want to test myself more.
Additionally, are these scores good? Practice 1:1410-690 720 Practice 2:1410-720 690 Practice 3:1380-680 700 Practice 4: Practice 5: Practice 6: 1450-730 720
In the question the correct answer is A however I do not understand wheather to chose answer A or C. Where does the semi-colon go and why?
Read up for some of the mid tiers that most have a requirement of 1200.
Ive never taken it, and was wondering how hard it is to study for it? Im very bad at studying and worry it will be too much to get a 1600. How does it work? I see different things like it being MANY tests, but some say one? Multiple meaning I need to take 10 all day tests?
Some more reasonable explanations other then thousands of websites saying different things would be nice.
what do i need to know b4 the test?
like literary everything about it
This whole thread is about people stressing over getting a 1400 or a 1500 saying how it's too low and they aren't satisfied. Most of the people I've seen in here aren't even going to Ivy league schools or top tier schools. I'm shooting for this SAT (my 2nd retake) maybe a 1250 or a 1300 so I can apply for bright futures and get a scholarship to UF. Is there something I'm missing? Does having a higher SAT score mean better stuff besides being a college magnet?
Dude, genuine question. Taking it on December. Do I call it quits? I got a 750R&W and 710M when I took the SAT in March and signed up to retake it on Saturday because I noticed my math tends to be below the 25th percentile for schools I’m applying to. I’m learning Desmos and grinding the practice bank, but I really feel like I’m not gonna grasp the super difficult questions towards the end of module 2. I’ve improved where I missed the most questions last time (geometry and trig), but I’m still struggling and I think it’s joever.
I want to major in English. Do I just give up and settle for a 700-750 on math, and work on getting a 800 in R&W? I got a 36R 35E when I took the ACT in September, so it’s probably possible.
I've been taking practice tests and usually I've been getting a perfect score for the maths section but like 4-5 questions wrong in the English section. I have my SAT on Dec 7th, I'm desperate. Any help will be much appreciated.
670 RW, 760M on PSAT, but I heard that the PSAT math is so much easier and even the English is easier so if I got a 670 for reading on PSAT I might be cooked.
So my sister is taking SAT and she wants to go for Ivys. Now me personally being sped i decided to take it till i maxed it out. Is it worth taking the SAT after 1500?
Took Bluebook practice many times and finally got a score I'd be really happy with. Is it indicative of my predicted score on test day or is it because of constant repetition and familiarity with the question?
This is a Command of Evidence question from the Question Bank that has always baffled me. First, what does this y-axis mean? This % of baseline? Secondly, we don't have information on REM sleep during the seal's time in the water, so how can "C" be true? Thanks in advance for your help!
