When they had that family project I felt she was being rude about it and really wanted to Chuckie to bring that up to her in an emotional rage 😡
I'm not sure if this was the Rugrats or another show. But I remember there was a bully going to beat up someone. I remember Angelica riding around counting down the minutes until they dieeeeddddddd. Is this a Rugrats episode?
There are only 6 options available, so if Phil/Lil wins I'll do a separate poll for them
Okay, obviously neither Tommy or Chuckie were really “in the wrong” simply due to their young age and the difficult circumstances they were placed in. I also understand that it can seem easier to empathize with Chuckie, considering that we see him as a guest in Tommy’s house way more frequently than we see the reverse.
It is also important to note that when Chuckie plays at Tommy’s house, he IS frequently pressured to step outside his comfort zone to do what Tommy wants to do. I just feel like this episode puts Tommy in an especially vulnerable position and that not enough was done in the way of compromise and compassion for Tommy’s perspective.
This is not an afternoon playdate or even a one night sleepover, this is an entire long weekend without his parents. Tommy even mentions at the beginning of the episode that this is the longest he has ever spent away from home. Chuckie never really brings this up or tries empathizing with what Tommy might be going through (which is especially jarring considering Chuckie has shown himself to be a very empathetic person).
You could argue that the problem is that Tommy never really directly addresses his homesickness until the end of the episode, but I still feel like Chuckie should know Tommy’s personality enough to understand that Tommy often hides his fears to maintain his status as the “bravliest baby”.
Okay, there are definitely certain unpleasant things Tommy has to do while staying at the Finster house. Neither baby has any say in what cereal is served, but there are some things that I think can be accommodated to make Tommy feel more welcome, but Chuckie NEVER gives any special consideration to Tommy’s needs as his guest. A lot of kids shows that explore friends staying together for an extended period of time show “the guest” getting certain comforts and treatments from the host, but that really doesn’t happen here.
Also, while Tommy losing his temper and kicking the blocks all over the room is certainly the wrong way to deal with his emotions, I do think it’s notable that for a while Tommy did put forth an honest effort to live up to Chuckie’s organizational expectations. Tommy actually seemed to be working harder at accommodating Chuckie than Chuckie was to accommodate Tommy.
Yes, I also know that Chuckie’s implied autism likely makes him more sympathetic in this situation, but I do still think he comes off as more unlikable than intended.
What do yall think of @TommyPicklesSnark ? I kind of agree Tommy lowkey PMO
Personally I think she's a pretty good character in this series
Why Josh sucks and is such a mean, nasty kid to the babies, even worse than Angelica was?
Question:Whatever happened to Angelica’s former idol,Miss Carol after she got fired by the television studio because of Angelica exposing her true colors and her nasty, hateful behavior towards children on television? Whatever happened to her after her firing and her assistant became the host of her show, which was retooled to Miss Stephanie's Happy House and she was much nicer to kids than she ever was? How would she feel after being fired from her own show, towards Miss Stephanie for becoming the host and replacing her after her firing, and how would she react and feel towards Angelica if she ever came across her again?
so the rugrats was my favorite child cartoon show as a kid and I’ve recently been rewatching episodes. One thing I don’t get is how nice Angelica’s house was compared to Susie’s, which Susie’s parents were a doctor and a screenwriter? I was just watching the episode of meet the Carmichaels and even though they were just moving in the house looked underwhelming. Susie’s room barely had anything once they brung her stuff to her room with a kiddie bed as her bed and a box full of toys and just one dresser.
The next episode I watched was the voyage of Cynthia. Angelica’s house looks way better than Susie’s with stone siding etc and Drew and Stu were cleaning Drew’s boat like huh? another episode I remember is cuffed where they showed Angelica’s room and her room and bed were 2x better than Susie’s. I guess the argument could be Angelica is the only child so they can afford nice things compared to Susie’s family with multiple children but a doctor and screen writer are very successful jobs.
Been watching on PlutoTV today and they have been playing late season 8 and some season 9 episodes. The pacing of the episodes is so bad! It jumps around the plot lines so fast. For instance Club Fred. It’s jumping between so many storylines but like every 10-15 seconds. It’s not good. I understand why I didn’t care for the later seasons when I was a kid.
Do you think Chuckie’s step-mother,Kira Finster should be friends with Miss Stephanie, current kid's show host and former assistant to Miss Carol, since they both belittled,mistreated,child-loving,kind-hearted,and undestimated assistants who both worked under a cruel,red-headed,child-hating,and arrogant woman with a nasty,mean-spirited attitude(Miss Carol,Coco Labouche)and she would've learned if Stephanie told her how she got the show when Angelica(given that Kira already knew about Angelica before)that got her fired by making her lose it and snap at her first, then after saying the real fun phrase,Angelica told her she said it first and that caused her to swear in front of everyone on live television, getting her fired and replaced with her.
Teach dancing to a baby?
Before I wrap up tonight, I was thinking of an episode, "Cool Hand Angelica." While Angelica resists having to go to day camp on her parents' suggestion (thanks to Susie), Ferris Island and its staff, including Mr. Bubble, await the happy campers. In one of the few times Susie and Angelica work together, Angelica is challenged with earning the respect of the camp and her fellow campers.
She'll get used to those Popsicle sticks after a while working with them, but she'll never get that hand imagery out of her head.
I looked it upnand all makes sense and also creepy
