Photo Guidelines
No Unofficial POVs - The majority of parks do not allow cameras on any ride non-transportation rides so this a zero-tolerance policy on the subreddit to make moderation easier.
No Advertising or Social Media Links - You may include a link at the end of a written trip report or in the weekly “General Discussion Thursday” thread.
No RCT, Planet Coaster, No Limits, Roblox, Minecraft, or Parkitect creations. Those should go in their designated subs. The only exception to this rule is a Planet Coaster or No Limits POV from a coaster that's under construction but hasn't been announced yet (therefore there is no official POV yet).
No Clickbait, Obvious Errors, or Unreliable Sources - Do not link to clickbait-style articles. Do not post incorrect names, pictures, or stats from Google Maps, Wikipedia, news articles, park merchandise, movies, tv shows, or commercials. Please include a source for all news.
No Memes - They aren't funny, sorry.

I haven't ridden any of them myself but Shockwave is only a few hours away so maybe I'll try that one someday.
Anyways what is the worst Schwarzkopf looper and what is the best one.
Why do Flying Roller Coasters lose so much height to enter the first drop? We see Manta, Starry Sky Ripper, and the Flying dinosaur lose 27 feet to do the first drop, and tatsu loosing 59 feet, (though it drops 124 feet later on)
They’re 2 and 4 respectively, went on Daddy Pig and that thing had a little more gas than I expected. They loved it though!
I've been on a few launch coasters now where the final break run is on some kind of hill. Maxx Force is the worst I've been on, though Full Throttle has a similar issue.
Because it stops pretty quickly and while you're pointed downwards, it pretty significantly hurts my back every time. It's very hard to keep my back pressed flay against rhe seats while in a drop, and the quick stopping is just... Ouch.
Does anyone know why it's built this way? Why would they want to be stopping you on a drop? And does anyone have advice for trying to make this less painful?
What were some external factors ruining a would-be amazing ride for you?
I personally have had two extremely unpleasant experiences that immediately cross my mind.
One was on Expedition GeForce, having two extremely loud screaming girls right behind me, who were literally only screaming for the sake of screaming. It was the loudest and highest pitched human screaming I've ever had to witness. That completely ruined the ride for me (and frankly part of the day, due to temporary tinnitus).
The second experience was on a Reverchon spinning wild mouse at a German funfair. The ones that have you and your co-rider share an over-the-shoulder restraint. The tiny bit of airtime at the end of the big drop caught my co-rider by surprise in the exact moment I was exhaling, making them press the restraint one click more down, rendering me almost unable to breathe and the restraint constantly pressing against my stomach throughout the lower wild mouse turns. That day I learned to never ride a coaster with shared restraints with a much slimmer person.
But as painful and uncomfortable as this really was, the screaming girls on Expedition GeForce still take the trophy!!
Recently, the second train is being rebuilt, but the actual train cover has been rusting and sitting outside since the coaster reopened last year. I'm sure it may need some cleaning before opening, but is a full repaint possible? This train is on its third color scheme after being changed from its original yellow and lighter red colors in the past
What is the craziest moment of sustained ejector you have ever experienced? For me, it has to be Iron Gwazi's wave turn. It feels very long and the airtime is absurdly powerful. I've experienced shorter moments that were more powerful than this, but this is the strongest I have felt for that sustained amount of time.
I do see Steel Vengeance as being the better coaster (it's my #1 while Gwazi is my #3), since it's significantly longer and has way more airtime. But Gwazi's wave turn may be my favorite element of all time.
As of late i have ridden some of the more intense new rollercoasters in FL like Iron Gwazi and Velocicoaster and i am wondering why these rollercoasters only have a lap bar? For me, mentally I feel safer and more locked in when I have the over the shoulder harness and I am just wondering why it seems like all the new more extreme rides seem to be trending in the opposite direction? Velocicoaster didn’t even have a seatbelt only the lap bar lol
Got inspired by that Knott’s Berry Farm credit card post I saw the other day, and was wondering what kind of credit cards you folks are using to book theme park trips? Right now I use the Capitol One Savor, and the 3% cashback on food and entertainment comes in handy for theme park purchases. I’ve also been thinking about a travel credit card like the Venture X.
Share below what cards you are using and any strategies you have to make the most out of them. Cashback, points, miles, etc. It’s an expensive hobby so any tips to make some of that back are very helpful
My kid took a video of me on it, got the first ride tonight at Winterfest!
I've ridden 8 b&m coasters (raptor, batman, banshee, rougarou, x flight, gatekeeper, wild eagle, raging bull). I've heard people talking about a "rattle" on some of these rides, but I have never felt anything while riding them. What is this "b&m rattle"?
Like seriously I rode 6 b&m rollercoasters yesterday (penguin trek, Kraken, Manta, Mako, incredible hulk, and pipeline) and the rattle was unreal on penguin trek. I'll give a pass to Hulk and Kraken due to age but penguin trek just came out. (Manta and mako were smooth) Please explain what happened to b&m
obviously parks like phantasialand, disney and universal parks, stuff like that. most us parks like six flags and cedar fair barely have theming. but reply with any suggestions?
I just wanted to share a little story about it, I’m not as tapped into the coaster world as I’m sure most of you in the sub are. I’m just a casual park-goer who enjoys roller coasters.
I’ve lived an hour from Six Flags NJ for my entire life. Every year, me and my friends take a short trip there, it’s sort of become a tradition. However, believe it or not in the 5-6 times I’ve been to the park, I never got to ride Kingda Ka. Either it was broken down that day, or the line was like 2+ hours long.
This year I told myself no matter what I was going to ride it. We got there bright and early and got in line right away, got a great spot too, probably only a 20 minute wait. Right when we got to the front of the line, the ride broke down lol. So we waited for around 30-40 min hoping they’d reopen but they just told us they had no timeline.
So we left, went to nitro and some other rides, 2-3 hours passed and we saw a test launch on Kinda Ka. So we hustled back and got a not-so-great position in the line. But we waited around 40 minutes to get to the front. Once we got to the actual coaster there was no line to get on the train itself.
Dude my heart was PUMPING, by far the most intimidating roller coaster I’ve ever gotten on. Got on the second row, with my buddies in front of me. And sitting there, on that long ass track, looking at a 400+ top hat. Man it was just insane. Felt like 6 years of build up.
Easily the most intense and exciting ride I’ve ever been on. Man it was just so fun, and I was so damn happy to have ridden it. I had no idea they were even considering closing it. I heard about it like 2-3 weeks after. And I feel so blessed to have been able to ride it, and I was likely one one of the last rides on it in its lifetime, that feels pretty cool. I hope whatever replaces it is amazing.
Idk why but I wanted to share this story lol.
I promise this is not an ad!
My girlfriend is a successful artist who is looking to expand her works with a focus on theme parks and coasters. She’s looking for source material that she can paint, draw, etc!
If you have any unique or striking photos that you would like to see turned into an original piece, please DM me! If she chooses your photo as inspiration, we’ll provide you with a digital copy of the work for free, as a thank you!
Attached is an original piece that she made for me at Santa Cruz Beach Boardwalk! Your piece may or may not be a similar style, depending on her vision
The official opening date is today, November 30, but a pre-launch test ride event was held yesterday for Early-bird Pass holers. All the facilities were completed, but some workers were still finishing up landscaping work. The event was not conducted in a very relaxed manner, so I couldn’t take many additional photos.
There are two 10-seater trains: the blue one named "Hati" and the yellow one named "Sköll." The only difference between the two is their color; all other aspects are identical.
The safety harness features the new version introduced with the "Stunt Pilot," but, like the prototype Raptor, an additional safety belt is included.
Regarding my evaluation, I live in Asia, and unfortunately, I couldn’t ride Hakugei during my visit to Nagashima Spaland as it was not in operation that day. Therefore, it's difficult for me to compare it with other Raptor or IBOX coasters. However, I found the ride experience to be much smoother than I expected, and the relentless pacing of each element was truly impressive. This coaster clearly demonstrated why RMC coasters are so highly regarded among coaster enthusiasts.
At the end of the event, Gyeongju World handed out gifts to the participants. The gifts included a 2025 calendar and a Sköll&Hati-themed hoodie.
