Hey all, my fiance and I are looking for a nice place to purchase simple gold bands for our wedding that wont break the bank. Any thoughts?
edit: we ended up at The Jewelry Design Co as our first stop last night and had a good experience, so we sealed the deal there. Thank you, everyone, for your suggestions!
What are peoples’ thoughts on the “hail damage” thing? I’ve had 3 door walkers in 2 months knock on my door offering free estimates. To me… This seems like a scam to tap into my homeowners insurance. Kind of like the “ambulance chasers” of home insurance. Yes, I have home owners insurance. But I don’t need folks knocking on my door looking to tap that shit!
We keep getting people coming to the door telling us that they are affiliated with Pepco and offering some sort of discount if I show them my bill. They don't have any Pepco identification, business cards, or even Pepco logos on their clothes, so I assumed it was some sort of scam. Anyone know what the deal is? Is it legit?
Hey! Our daycare provider just moved into a new space right outside of downtown Rockville. They renovated an old church and made the old sanctuary a gym. Our 2 year old loves it. Since they recently upgraded the space, they have plenty of spots available. Just wanted to give them a shout in case anyone was looking: https://www.busybeesfd.com/
So I recently accepted a summer internship located in Rockville. I'm planning on moving down there mid-May from Massachusetts, and staying until mid-August. What are some of resources I could use to find short term housing in the area besides airbnb, or what do you guys recommend? I don't have to stay in Rockville specifically, but I also don't want my commute to be more than 30 minutes one way.
Edit: Forgot to mention that I'd like the rent to be around $1000/month but I understand due to the location this might be tricky.
Join us for an informal walk around RedGate Park. Bring binoculars to see birds and your camera to take pictures to share with the Mayor & Council and on social media prior to the big Feb. 3rd meeting at Rockville City Hall about the fate of RedGate Park. This is an informal gathering of people who care about RedGate Park and want to make a statement about its importance in their lives.
We’ll meet at the end of the parking lot (150 spaces!) near the large clubhouse building.
Please forward this email and share on social media to encourage friends and family to join us.
We will be moving to Rockville/Potomac most likely in the coming months. We have two sons (18 months and 4 years old). We are moving because we out grew our condo in DC and need more space. We like the Fallsmead and Copenhaver neighborhoods, but don't know anyone that lives there. Both my wife and I have a flexible work schedule and work from home 2-3 times a week. We want good schools and a community feeling...like most young families. Any thoughts, advise orcomments welcome! Thanks!
Moving with my spouse to somewhat nearby the Shady Grove metro. I'll be working in DC. Two of us and a cat. Friends familiar with the area have told me that the traffic is somehow even worse than Baltimore County. I'd love to hear from anyone who's made a similar switch, or any advice in general really.
Hey residents. I posted a few questions in here previously so here’s another one. My family is relocating from Chicago out to the Montgomery county area and schools are very important to us.
I know that Montgomery county is very well known for schools. I see that Winston Churchill and Thomas Wooten tend to rank the highest on some of the websites that I’ve seen. I’m wondering from a local perspective if there’s a preference of one over the other to residents? If one school offers something at the other school doesn’t?
If you’re interested in Redgate Park in Rockville (was RedGate Golf Course, now is a 144 acre park) please visit www.SaveRedgate.org. The Rockville City Mayor and Council are meeting February 3rd, 2020 to make decisions about its future, and they need to hear from residents.
There’s also a drop-in event at Twinbrook Community Center tomorrow (Friday, Jan 24th) from 6:30- 8:00p to meet other Rockville residents concerned about RedGate, write postcards and send emails to the Mayor and Council (mayorcouncil@rockvillemd.gov) before their February 3rd meeting where the fate of RedGate Park will be discussed.
Can someone share some insight about Glen Hills in Rockville? I am seeing a lot of beautiful homes at a very reasonable and fair price. It also seems to feed into Wooten. Is this just a well kept secret or is there something I am missing?
I’ve been speaking my a realtor about the Montgomery county area and am receiving some listings via MLS. I’m noticing that the same price range offers larger homes in Potomac. The schools also seem to be very good. I’m certain there must be a reason for this.
Can any residents help me understand the differences between Rockville and Potomac?
Title pretty much says it all. Getting to visit your city for the next few days at a conference, and being an inlander, we don’t get much fresh seafood. I am a lover of crabcakes and would like to know where the best in the area is! I’m literally down for eating them every meal while I’m here. Any suggestions? I’ve got transportation so I can go anywhere relatively local. Thanks for your help, can’t wait to see your city!
Relocating family to Rockville in the spring and need to find a place to rent for up to 2-years before buying a home. Please DM if you are an agent or can recommend one. Thank you!
All of Derwood/king Farm smells of burnt plastic. There were a good 10 fire trucks from what I could see coming down 355 from Gaithersburg. Any body else experience this or know what happened?
Good safe places to crash in your car for the night without getting bothered ?
