/r/reverseanimalrescue
A subreddit dedicated to reversing videos to make it look like animals/people in them are being put into dangerous situations.
You can use these links to make youtube videos into gifs:
http://makeagif.com/youtube-to-gif
(Longer youtube videos take longer to process!)
The recommended way to reverse a GIF is to use the gif reversing bot in the request thread. However, there are various sites that allow gif/video reversing. For example, http://gifgifs.com/reverser/ or http://ezgif.com/reverse (File size limit of 20Mb).
PLEASE DO NOT HOST DIRECTLY FROM GIFGIFS OR EZGIFS
Please host from either Imgur, Gfycat or Reddit's built in video hosting.
RULES
Content must be a GIF/Video - Content submitted here needs to be in gif or video form and of animal/human rescues that have been reversed.
The obvious ones:
a. Don't be an asshole in general
b. No witch hunting
c. No vote brigading/self promotion
No real animal cruelty - We DO NOT accept real animal cruelty, the content has to be reversed rescues not animals actually being hurt/abused
Keep comments on topic - This is a fun subreddit, not a political one. Any political, anti-cop, or generally contentious comments will likely be removed due to their tendency to start arguments.
No reposts from within the last month - DO NOT repost any content from this subreddit that was posted here within the last month or is one of the top 20 posts on this subreddit, it will be removed.
Use NSFW tag when necessary - Please use the NSFW tag where necessary, anything NSFW on this subreddit may go under scrutiny by mods to make sure it is not overly gory/weird.
Stick to preferred hosting sites - Please stick to the preferred sites for submissions, we will accept other sites as long as they are not blog sites/spam or ad filled sites. Gfycat, Imgur and Reddit's built in image hosting are acceptable.
No randomly capitalised titles - RaNdoMLY cAPitaLiSeD TiTLEs LikE tHiS are obnoxious and will be removed.
(Optional) Please mark reposts - Please mark reposts from other subreddits, either by crossposting, or with (x-post r/[Insert subreddit here])
Keep requests to the request thread - There (should) always be a request thread stickied to the top of the subreddit, please post any requests you have here - request posts will be removed, so please make the request in the appropriate thread.
Original video must contain a rescue - The original video that a reversed one is made from MUST contain a rescue of some kind. For example, a predator catching some form of prey does not count as a rescue. While reversed it does indeed show the animal being "rescued", this makes it the wrong way around for the subreddit - the whole point of this subreddit is to turn the rescue into the animal being put into "danger".

Hi there,
Based on the feedback from the post I made earlier in the week asking what the community thinks about the flair system, I've decided to update the flairs to be "ironic" ones that emphasise the nature of people being tricked by the subreddit.
So now the flairs are these options:
Have retagged a few of the current posts that are on hot to show examples, when making posts these are now the flair options.
Please feel free to make suggestions for more flairs along these lines in the comments here and I'll happily add them - I only have enough brain cells to come up with a handful after all. Also if you think the colours are stupid then say so as well, happy to change them.
Also: If it turns out people really don't like this idea I'm open to reverse it (ha) and return to the old flairs as well.
Hi there, it's your tyrannical overlord here with a brilliant idea...
I've been thinking about the subreddit's flairs and feel like it would be much more interesting to have them play into the "trick" aspect of the subreddit where people get confused and think the videos aren't reversed.
So the flairs instead of describing the animal involved would be things like "Disturbing", "Horrific", "Evil", "Not reversed" and "Real" (And any others, feel free to suggest your ideas in the comments for trick/ironic flairs if you like the idea).
Maybe this is a terrible idea, hence why I want to put this to a community vote and hear your thoughts rather than just doing it. One negative is I know for a fact that it would result in more reports as some people would fall for it. So kind of a good thing I've recently hired some new slaves valuable employees for the mod team, eh?
Anyway, vote below in this totally not biased poll:
I made a post earlier in the week looking to see if I could find any new mods to help me as I was sort of fed up of being the only one keeping this sub running.
I was pleasantly surprised to get quite a few messages and replies from people offering their help and after a rigorous and exhaustive selection process where I totally didn't just choose the first three who replied, there are now three new mods on the subreddit!
Join me in welcoming the three brave individuals who have chosen to protect their virginity:

The benefits of having these extra guys to help out means more power abuse quicker responses to reports and quicker approvals if a post gets incorrectly filtered out by reddit among other things and should help to prevent posts sitting for hours unmoderated because I happen to be asleep.
Anyway, I hope you can join me in welcoming these guys to the team!
PS: Don't swoon over them too quicky now that they're reddit mods, form a line.
(PS PS: Thank you to the others who offered as well, but I think that the mod team size we have now is more than enough considering the low post rate on the subreddit, sorry!)
Hey there,
So believe it or not I'm the only active moderator on this subreddit, the only reason the sub even is in a healthy state is because first of all people are very good with reports (thank you!) and because Reddit's automatic spam filters have gotten pretty good - plus the fact that posts are only made rarely here helps a lot. Shoutout to Automoderator as well, the real G of the team.
Anyway, I'd really like the help of some others - preferably people who have some idea about moderating although if you have a reliable looking post history that's good enough for me. Even better if it's anyone who's made posts here as that's proof you understand the idea of the subreddit.
Basically all it involves is keeping an eye on the mod queue and approving comments/posts that get filtered out for various reasons (new user etc) and ignoring the inevitable reports where people get confused and think the posts here are animal abuse, or removing the occasional "lost redditor" post where it's completely random content that isn't suitable for this subreddit.
For the new mods I'll be pretty laid back, if you want to take more responsibility for the subreddit feel free pretty much, just discuss big changes or ideas you have first in a DM or in the mod mail.
Either reply here or send a message to me if you're interested, thank you.
Well, received a surprising number of offers already and have decided to add three new mods! Sorry to anyone seeing this post a bit late, but for now I've found enough mods. Thank you for everyone that's offered, it's great to know there are lots out there who are willing to help.
Will introduce the new mods in a post once they've accepted the invites.
