My grandfather and I were very close and one of the things we bonded over was the music he grew up listening to and his record collection. Bo Diddley, Waylon Jennings, Paul Simon and Elvis were some of his favorites. When I first wanted to get into collecting records he gave me all of his old ones he bought when they originally came out in the 50’s and 60’s, and I’ve always treasured those. He recently passed away and while my mother, grandmother and I were sorting through his things, we found these tickets! I knew my grandpa had taken my grandma to go see Elvis back in the day, but didn’t know where or when. So I was thrilled to find these and also surprised that they went on my mother’s 10th birthday!!! After my grandma gave me these tickets as a special keepsake, I decided it would be fitting to frame them with one of my grandpa’s Elvis records he bought when it was first released! Now these tickets and records are even more special to me, and I will always cherish them! 🖤
Hi! I wanted to share this event for anyone in the Detroit area or anyone interested in Detroit history. Both in-person AND virtual tickets are still available for our presentation of "Women of the Kahn Family: A Quiet Dignity"
https://albertkahnlegacy.org/events/women-of-the-kahn-family/
The Albert Kahn Legacy Foundation in partnership with the Jewish Historical Society of Michigan present a lecture by Carol Rose Kahn, granddaughter of Albert and Ernestine Kahn.
Albert Kahn was a renowned Detroit architect who made a global impact. But he had an incredibly supportive family who helped him along the way, and who made accomplishments in their own rights. At this presentation, Carol Rose Kahn will be focusing on the extraordinary women of the Kahn family who achieved remarkable things and left a lasting legacy.
Please join us as we learn more about this historic family and celebrate these women together!

I did recently learn that the name bois blanc, which "Boblo" is another spelling for, means "white wood" in French.
anyway, the location I'm talking about here is Boblo Island, and that's the island that also identifies as Bois Blanc, seeing as the "Bo" is because of a silent s, and the "Blo" is because of the silent nc, which is a byproduct of the French language's syntax for pronouncing words.
French words are characterized by silent consonants at the end.
