My best friend just went through rehab for 8 weeks in a facility in Portugal. There she made her first steps to sobriety of alcohol and other substances. As today she just past her first 90 days and we (our mutual other best friend) are so proud of her. We understand that the temptation of drinking will be with her for a very long period of time (maybe forever). So when we meet with the 3 of us together we will not drink any.
But: can I invite her to come to our Christmas dinner party where at least half of the people are drinking? Or is this too soon? And will she get her self in trouble / break her sobriety if we ask her to come? I guess if I ask her the question she will react like she can handle it.
What is normal to do in this situation? Does somebody have experience in a similar situation? Please advise.
Addiction is a powerful and complex disease that impacts millions of people worldwide. Whether it's substance abuse, alcohol addiction, or behavioral addictions, the road to recovery can be challenging and filled with obstacles. In this journey, one of the most important decisions you'll make is choosing the right rehabilitation centre. Opting for a professional Rehabilitation Centre in Delhi, Rehabilitation Centre in Ghaziabad, or Rehabilitation Centre in Ghaziabad can make all the difference in the success of the treatment process.
At Simran Shri Sasha Mukti Kendra, we understand the gravity of addiction and the importance of proper care, guidance, and support during the recovery process. In this blog, we’ll discuss the top reasons why choosing a professional rehab centre is essential for long-term recovery.
One of the primary reasons to choose a professional rehab centre for addiction recovery is the access to expert care. Addiction is a medical condition that requires specialized knowledge and treatment. Simran Shri Sasha Mukti Kendra offers a team of experienced professionals, including doctors, therapists, counselors, and addiction specialists, who are trained in the most effective addiction treatments and therapies.
These experts use evidence-based therapies, such as Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), Dialectical Behavior Therapy (DBT), and Motivational Interviewing, to address the psychological and emotional aspects of addiction. In addition, they will provide you with a personalized treatment plan based on your unique needs, ensuring that you get the care that is best suited to your recovery journey.
Having access to skilled professionals also means that you’ll receive comprehensive care that addresses both the physical and mental aspects of addiction, increasing your chances of lasting recovery.
A professional rehab centre offers a structured environment that is specifically designed to foster healing and recovery. At Simran Shri Sasha Mukti Kendra, we ensure that our patients follow a carefully structured schedule that includes therapy, support group meetings, recreational activities, and personal time for rest and self-reflection.
This structure plays an essential role in addiction recovery by providing stability and discipline. For someone struggling with addiction, routine is crucial to staying on track. It helps to reduce the chaos and unpredictability that often characterizes life during active addiction. In a structured environment, patients are less likely to be exposed to negative triggers or stressors, allowing them to focus solely on recovery.
In addition, the professional staff ensures that all patients are supported throughout the day. They help manage symptoms of withdrawal and provide guidance and encouragement to keep individuals motivated during the most challenging parts of the recovery process.
Addiction is a multifaceted issue that affects various areas of an individual’s life, including their physical health, emotional well-being, and social relationships. A professional rehab centre, such as Simran Shri Sasha Mukti Kendra, offers comprehensive treatment plans that address all aspects of addiction.
These treatment plans are not just focused on getting clean from substances; they also aim to help the individual rebuild their life. This includes:
By addressing the full range of physical, mental, and emotional factors contributing to addiction, a professional rehab centre provides a far more thorough treatment experience compared to self-help methods or less equipped facilities.
A professional Rehabilitation Centre in Noida or Rehabilitation Centre in Ghaziabad offers a safe and supportive environment that allows individuals to focus solely on their recovery. The atmosphere of a rehab centre is carefully designed to support individuals in overcoming addiction without the distractions and temptations of daily life.
At Simran Shri Sasha Mukti Kendra, patients are removed from their usual environment, which may include people, places, or situations that could trigger cravings or temptation. Instead, they are surrounded by others who are on the same journey, fostering a sense of community and mutual support.
This environment is vital for building confidence and a sense of belonging during recovery. The professional staff at the centre is committed to providing constant encouragement and motivation to patients, which can help them stay focused and positive during treatment.
Recovery does not end once treatment at the rehab centre concludes. In fact, maintaining sobriety post-treatment is one of the most critical phases of the recovery process. A professional rehab centre ensures that patients have access to aftercare services to help them stay sober and transition back into everyday life.
At Simran Shri Sasha Mukti Kendra, our aftercare programs include regular check-ins, relapse prevention strategies, and participation in support groups. These services are crucial for helping individuals maintain their recovery and avoid the risk of relapse. With continued professional support, patients can better navigate the challenges of life after rehab, equipped with the tools and coping strategies they learned during their treatment.
Family support and involvement in aftercare programs can also make a significant difference. Family therapy sessions, counseling, and education ensure that family members know how to support their loved ones after rehab, reducing the risk of enabling behaviors or misunderstandings.
Addiction treatment can be a deeply personal journey, and many individuals may feel a sense of shame or embarrassment about seeking help. A professional rehab centre ensures privacy and confidentiality throughout the treatment process. This creates a safe space where individuals can focus on their recovery without the fear of judgment or exposure.
At Simran Shri Sasha Mukti Kendra, we prioritize the confidentiality of our patients. All information shared within the treatment process is kept private, allowing individuals to open up and fully engage in their healing process.
In addition to traditional medical treatments and therapies, professional rehab centres offer holistic healing approaches that support the body, mind, and spirit. At Simran Shri Sasha Mukti Kendra, we incorporate a range of holistic therapies to complement traditional addiction treatment, such as:
These holistic treatments help individuals heal on a deeper level, enhancing their ability to recover fully.

Please understand how bad your words can hurt others. I have been sober for years... I still work at it daily. And I promise you Nothing hurts more than people you love saying you look "messed up" when you are sober. Almost makes you cry after all the hard work you put into staying sober.... No names called and please don't make assumptions. Just say a prayer please.
About a month ago, i was playing hockey and turned into a shot when someone hit me in the process. I noticed some immediate pain, but it wasn't overwhelming. Within 24-48 hours, i was getting intense, aching rhomboid pain and was unable to sleep in nearly any position. I gave it a couple weeks of rest and it didn't improve. My GP put me on a short series of steroids and muscle relaxers. However neither seemed to improve things. OTC NSAIDs also haven't helped much. I ended up traveling abroad for vacation (miserable flight with the pain), and managed to find a topical NSAID (Diclofenac) that helped a bit.
Fast-forwsrd to week 3 1/2 and the pain is 75% gone, with the exception of building a bit as it gets later in the evening. I've been doing some rhomboid stretching exercises and some dorsal scapular flossing exercises. But i have extreme weakness in the muscles that support lifting from behind ththe back overhead. I can barely lift a bath towel 3-5 reps, the muscles are so weak. I've looked for exercises on youtube, but they're all designed for building strength, not addressing or rehabing extremely weak, injured muscles. I was hoping to get some ideas from this sub. Thank you in advance.

(Yes, I'm probably obsessed with Bojack, but for some reason I feel a connection (worrying? Yes), I don't know, maybe it's the existential void, but I don't want to be him or repeat the things he does, things are probably late too much to resolve but I want to change and I think I'm asking for help here, it's a step.)
I have been rehabbing a shoulder impingement/tendinitis/bursitis situation and have had these marks pop up 2 times on my skin. Ive been almost exclusively been doing legs and just light rehab band work to heal the shoulder but today I tried lat pull downs with a moderate amount of weight and these popped up. The marks are directly over the injured area, and only on the injured side.
About 5 weeks ago, my left shoulder dislocated while I was rockclimbing but it popped back in after I raised my arm in that same moment it dislocated. But even before this dislocation, I had shoulder impingement for a while on the same shoulder while doing overhead movements in the gym (happened for a while, couple of months). Right after the dislocation at rock climbing, I went to the orthopedic and my range of motion was limited when I moved my arm but about a week in, I could move all around without it hurting a lot. 2 weeks after resting and stop doing any physical acitives (gym and rockclimbing), I went to a physical therapist who at first gave me 6 exercises to do with a band (rows, straight arm in front and swing down to side (idk the exercise name), internal band rotation, external band rotation, shoulder raises, and this hurdle exercise). I did 20 reps everyday (2 times a day) of each exercise but the next week, the pt added 5 more exercises and upped the reps of the previous exercises to 30. Also she said I could go to the gym but to go light and do my shoulder exercises before I go to the gym. I’m about a month in my exercises and going to the gym at the same but I do not really see any growth and it feels the same, where sometimes randomly my left shoulder would hurt a little and in the gym, overhead exercises burn and pinches my shoulder and I cannot overload at all. Even lowering the weight, my shoulder still burns a little and I make sure my form is good but still no difference. I go to the gym 3 days a week (push pull legs) and usually after the days where I do push and pull, my shoulder usually hurts a little for the rest of day and sometimes when I bring my arm all the way, it pinches a little, but on the other days, my shoulder feels perfectly fine, if anything, maybe a tiny bit of discomfort but rarely. I don’t know what to do, I want to go to the gym still and my pt said it was ok but I cannot overload any of the exercises and it still pinches and hurts my shoulder. And I’m not sure if quitting the gym and focusing on the exercises only will help. Some of the exercises hurt my shoulder such as the internal and external rotations and I watched a video from this other physical therapist who said those types of internal/external exercises are bad for you and cause your shoulder to feel worse. Also when I went to the pt, they just gave me the exercises, we didn’t do a mri scan of a test or nothing; they just gave me exercises to help strengthen all the parts in my shoulder. Anyways in the gym, chest exercises (bench press machine, incline bench machine, pec dec), some tricep and shoulder exercises (overhead tricep press, overhead shoulder press, dips, lateral raises), and some back and bicep exercises (lat pull-down, seated rows, cable bicep curls, reverse pec dec) all hurt my shoulder. However the other exercises that don’t really hurt my shoulder at all are (all leg exercises , hammer curls, preacher curls, I also play the viola and my left shoulder always burn after a while of holding my instrument but maybe that’s just normal, it was still there even before the working out at all so idk. I also can’t even sleep on my left shoulder anymore because when I wake up, it just hurts, it’s just random. Sometimes my shoulder feel perfectly fine and sometimes I just go to grab something or reach for something and it pinches or reach behind my back to scratch it. I just don’t know what to do and I feel that my shoulder is never going to get better and that I’ll have a weak left shoulder for the rest of my life. I’ve been consistent with the shoulder exercises and avoided doing any extra physical activists (rockclimbing, martial arts, home works) but it is no use. My shoulder still hurts when doing gym exercises or sometimes doing normal things. Can anyone help me? Preferably someone who help athletic people or is very familiarized when the gym so you can get where I am coming from. I’m not sure what to do, and I want to heal up asap, any tips and suggestions? Also I feel like I’m overworking my shoulder when doing the home exercises recommended by the pt, it takes me about 30 mins to do one workout (I have to do twice a day) and I have to eventually go up to 50 reps per 11 exercises I do (extra 5 exercises are dumbell exercises with 2lb weight). I think this would take me around 45 minutes to do once I get to the point of 50 reps per exercise then after that, I will move up to another band which is harder resistance then I would start back at 20 reps and go up to 50 again (I go up 10 reps every week, 5 for dumbell exercises and hurdle exercise). Lastly here are some things to help identify my shoulder problems, hurts where I wave and bring my arm back, hurts when I do an external rotation and go all the way back with no band, and sometimes when I reach overhead and grab something in front of me, and of course most gym exercises that consist using the shoulders (even at way lighter weights, for example I can’t even do cable bicep curl at 5 lbs where I did 50 in the past). Anyways here are the concerns: What do I do about the gym? Am I overworking my shoulder with 11 exercises that consist of a lot of reps? Should I go somewhere else?-(I found a potential better place (a physiotherapist rather than a pt from the same orthopedic place). And any suggestions to best heal my shoulder and strengthen it completely according to my problems and experiences. Anyways I hope some of you can resolve my concerns because I have really been stressed out because I do not know what to do and I told my physical therapist about some of this stuff but nothing really worked or seemed right. I told my pt about my shoulder pain after I workout in the gym and she said to ice it and I asked if I should still workout if my left shoulder burns a little and she said it’s normal and I should be fine but idk entirely. Any help will be highly appreciated, thank you. 🙏
A post acute rehab company approached me about building an alternative to Casamba as it's going away and they're not thrilled with Rehab Optima. They said that there's no competition, but I've seen other platforms like Prompt and Raintree. Are these viable alternatives to Rehab Optima or is there some crucial difference? (I'm a software developer, completely new to this space.)
Hi everyone,
I’m reaching out for some guidance and recommendations for my mom’s recovery process. She’s been through a lot, She had her first hip replacement in 1996, in 2020 she had that replacement replaced and it failed. In 2022 she had another hip replacement with the hope of helping her pain, but that one left her in only slightly less pain. These two failed hip replacement surgeries have left her in severe pain and neuropathy. Her doctor believes that her scar tissue fused with a nerve, causing significant discomfort. She recently tested a nerve stimulator that thankfully brought her pain relief, and she’s scheduled to get a permanent implant in November.
In the meantime, her doctor has suggested using a motorized foot pedal to help rebuild strength in her leg. The problem is, that he didn’t have a specific brand or model in mind, so we’re feeling a bit lost on what to look for or which ones might be the most effective and comfortable for her needs.
We’re hoping to get this before the insurance year ends to take advantage of her current coverage. If anyone has experience with motorized foot pedals for rehab—either as a provider or a patient—I’d love to hear your insights on which brands or features to consider, or any other tips you think might help her recovery.
Thanks in advance for any recommendations you can share!

Something make you agitated recently? Need to vent it out? Post it here!
Around February 2023 I had a bad snowboarding accident that led to my right AC joint being separated. It's been a brutal recovery process exasperated by some life circumstances following the incident, however over a year and a half later I have most functionality back - even to the point of doing handstands and ring muscle ups.
Recently I wanted to try and train chest since I haven't really been able to in such a long time and my shoulder was completely shot after. Collar bone felt unstable and it just felt... wrong.
Did I miss something in my rehab, am I doomed to never get a strong chest?
Hello everyone,
I hope you're all doing well. Recently, I wrestled in two matches, winning one and losing the other. However, I've started feeling some discomfort in my biceps, particularly a tightness when I do pushups. It feels as if my biceps are really tight, although it's not exactly painful.
Most of my workouts revolve around pullups, pushups, and dips, so I suspect the tightness is due to overuse. To avoid aggravating the situation, I'm planning to take some rest.
Does anyone have any advice on how to manage or alleviate this tightness?
I'd appreciate any tips on recovery strategies or adjustments to my workout routine to help prevent this in the future.
Title: Nerve Damage, Muscle Loss, and Long-term Shoulder Injury – Need Help with Pain, Muscle Loss, and New Technology
Hey Reddit,
I’m really struggling with some nerve and muscle issues and could use advice from anyone who’s dealt with something similar. Here’s the story:
Background:
I’ve had issues with my shoulder since 1999 due to a dislocation and multiple surgeries. It never healed 100%, but I managed to get by with limited mobility.
Now, I’m dealing with something new—nerve damage in my neck, specifically at C5/C6, which has been pinching and causing all sorts of problems.
Recent Situation:
Around June/July, I could still move my arm, but the pain was excruciating. I was on painkillers, but they barely touched the pain. After weeks of that, I ended up getting acupuncture, and it actually helped a lot—it fixed the pain, and I regained movement.
Fast forward a few months, and it feels like the nerve damage is coming back. Now, I’ve noticed that my deltoid is basically fucked—I’m losing muscle mass, and I’m starting to worry it’s irreversible.
The Problem:
My deltoid muscle is visibly atrophying, and I’m concerned that the nerve damage is getting worse. This seems to be a repeat of the pain and mobility issues I had over the summer.
I suspect it’s partly due to bad posture, but the Canadian healthcare system hasn’t been much help. I’ve been to doctors, been prescribed painkillers, but I’m not getting any real answers or solutions for the nerve damage or muscle loss.
My Main Concerns:
Muscle loss in my deltoid—is this something that anyone else has dealt with when the C5/C6 nerve gets pinched? How did you handle it?
Has anyone had success with alternative treatments like peptides (I’m looking at BPC-157 and TB-500) for nerve and muscle recovery?
Physical therapy, nerve regeneration, or surgery—what’s worked best for you if you’ve dealt with nerve damage leading to muscle atrophy?
Are there any new technologies or non-invasive treatments that I should look into? I’m hoping to avoid anything too intense or vigorous surgery but still need a solid solution to fix this.
I’m open to any advice or personal experiences that might point me in the right direction. This has been dragging on for way too long, and I’m worried the nerve damage might get worse without intervention.
Thanks in advance for any help!

What is a big success you've had this week?
Hello, I am trying to make a workout routine to rebuild my legs and try to lessen the pain in the injures in my knees. I tore my patellar tendon in my left knee while playing soccer two years ago. I was not aware that it was torn until a year and a half later and I played another season of soccer with it (I was wearing a patellar brace). The MRI showed that the tendon was not completely torn and as long as I workout/play sports I should be fine. I haven't been able to work out my legs in the gym out of fear of worsening my injury. Now that I am no longer playing soccer routinely, I want to focus on rebuilding my legs before playing again. I also have tendonitis and sometimes experience pain in my right knee as well, but it's not as bad as the left. What workouts should I start with and how much should I progress? I understand that going to a professional in person is the logical solution but I've started college and am not financially straight enough to go routinely. Just looking for any tips, inquiries, or comments on how to approach working my legs out again. DM me if you need more details 👍
Hello,
I am going to a PhP residential program to - of course - treat problematic mental health issues recently - but it is also court case involved. Attorney does not answer my questions, I have no agenda just want to know what to expect on the below! I have been to Detox's before so this isn't treatment related, the questions are. based on me wanting the best care.
Hi I’m Amy I’m a student interior designer I’m currently working on a project for rehabilitation. I’m working towards redesigning centres to benefit the community and people who use the space and I thought I’d ask from people who have actually been inside and seen the design aspects for themselves.
What I’m looking for is what would make you more comfortable? How are they designed now? Are they home like, do you feel safe in your own room? I want to try and make a change in the design industry and I believe this is something that needs to be changed and quickly.
Are they designed like prisons? Are they cold, comfy beds?
Any feedback is greatly appreciated, and hopefully with enough evidence I can write my essay and begin to make a change! Thankyou
Should I see a specialist?
If anyone would like a free movement assessment please dm me. With The movement assessment I can see the cause of the pain and possibly help!
Hi I'm dealing with adductor tendinopathy from a month . Sprinting doesn't hurt that much after few warmups but strength training especially lunges deep range of motion cause pain when going heavy. Anyone recovered it if so what's the best approach to heal this. Right now I'm trying to decrease range of motion and slowly increase as pain decreases

Hi, I recently applied for my state license 2 weeks ago but I’m hearing mixed things about how long it will take from 1-3 weeks to 6-8 weeks to receive my license in NY.
I received an amazing job offer and I worry it may not be available come 4+ weeks from now.
Would applying for a temporary license come faster? To at least secure the job until it comes in? Or will the wait be the same?
