Im 20F, soon to be mom! I have two wonderful dogs named Mia and Ricky, I love going to the beach, hiking and trying new snacks. Recently moved to a new area by myself and I'm currently working on getting used to the new setting, excited to see new faces and getting a new job. Wish me luck! :)

Hi everyone!
Ooh it's wonderful to meet you all! I really suck at intros but lemme see.. I am 26 years old. I am a medical student with a focus in pediatrics and psychology. I am a very boring person sadly. When I'm not studying and working, I spend all my free time with my husband and our cat. I love playing video games but my biggest passion is reading. I am OBSESSED with books. Especially fantasy and sci-fi books and I spend about 80% of my free time desperately searching for something new to read. I like to color and journal as well. It helps me relax at the end of the day. I love lazy days. Just getting to be cozy inside on a rainy day, sipping a nice vanilla latte, curled up on the couch with our cat on my lap and either my kindle or a physical book in my hand. A small secret about me is that I actually like to write. I've been working on a fantasy series for the last 8 years. I am too afraid to try and get it published right now but one day I really hope I'm able to at least try. My dream is to be a published author. So maybe one day 😌
So that's me lol I look forward to getting to lurk a bit until I get over my initial shyness and then get to know you all
Peace and love y'all. 😊✌️

QOTD: Do you prefer croissants or bagels?
As many people know, RAOA is a huge sub and it can be very intimidating. Many newbies have questions they may feel silly asking or are just worried they won't make any l here. This thread will hopefully change that!
How this works:
The general idea is that this will be posted and you will be adopting a newbie for a whole week. I'm not saying you have to talk to them 24/7 all week. But be there to help them out and be an awesome friend! :)
Newbies:
Make a top level comment (basically make a comment in reply to this thread) stating you're new and would like to be adopted. Maybe include a little bit about yourself for your adopter to start to get to know you! If a top level comment is a bit too intimidating, sometimes users volunteer to be adopters and you can grab one of them!
Adopters:
Reply to a newbies comment saying you'd like to adopt them for the week! If you'd like, you can also post a top level comment saying you're looking to adopt! This will help any newbies with a bit of stage fright!
Notes:
Newbies don't have to be brand new. But you should be new enough to need some guidance such as what are tags, how do I contest, what rules do we have, how do I make friends, etc! Anything you need help with. A newbie can be adopted by more than one adopter! This way they have many people to help them out! Newbies, if you missed the first day, feel free to comment and be adopted mid-week! You can even come back and be adopted next week too!
So go! Have fun! Be adopted! :)
Happy Thursday y’all! I’m awake much earlier than usual, thanks to a cranky old dog, so let’s do some retail therapy with a throwback contest.
The rules are simple:
Post a throwback picture of yourself; could be from earlier today, could be from last week, could be from twenty years ago, it’s entirety up to you.
Comment on someone else’s picture: tell them how great they look, mention their impeccable sense of fashion, however you want to do it is fine, just be nice.
(Optional) Summon a friend, or a newbie, or total stranger, to the party.
Include the words “throw it back” for raffle purposes.
That’s it. A randomly chosen winner will receive a little something from their wishlist. No need to link anything, just make sure your wishlists are up to date.
Contest will close when it’s no longer Thursday, or whenever I wake up tomorrow, with gifting to occur some time thereafter.
Go!
So cool!! u/WhatsThisMess

So the saga...3 months ago I ended up with an over night stay at hospital with surgery the next day. The wound has still not healed. I have been seeing nurses for the past 3 months to check the wound and was constantly told it takes a while. Finally got a nurse who i had seen previously who was not happy it wasn't healed and worried it may become much worse. After a trip to the Dr's yesterday I have an appointment with a surgeon (i think) tomorrow. My doc said it could involve another operation. So will i be be kept in hospital tomorrow for further surgery or let out into the world? (I am taking an overnight bag JIC).
So da rools
Guess Yes OR no for if I have to stay in.
Will end either tomorrow or Friday and gifting soon afterwards

I adore these u/suitable_let2337 I am going to step away from this for a bit, like a lot of folks, just because of the obvious bad energies of the platform we’re using, but I will miss this group so much!! Please keep in touch, maybe we will cross paths in some of the other pen-pallish spaces around the internet. Have a good week!!
