Part-Time Courier

Redditors of RVA!

Are you inexplicably nocturnal? Not particularly social? Looking for an alternative to restaurants or office life? Maybe just a little extra help with bills? I've got ya fam!! Come try something new... I promise you will find it most chill, easy, relaxing, and most importantly, independent.

I'm seeking one lucky, responsible and/or responsive, human being to assist with my paper route 0-2 times a week. It's a lovely route stretching from the edge of Short Pump west into Goochland. The hours are by far the hardest part to get used to, it takes from approximately 1AM each evening until around 7-8AM to complete. You will be paid $100 for each route you complete. Easy, bam, six hours, done.

The schedule is completely negotiable depending on your needs and availability. Ultimately I'm still trying to work the route most evenings because I need the money too! But if you want to step up and work 3-4 days in a week, I will be happy to step aside and allow you to do so. If there's some weeks you can't work any nights, hey no worries. I'm already working all of them now! I'll still be happy to see you next week.

Please reach out to me with any questions you may have! Don't wait!! There's no telling when you'll have an opportunity as easy as this to make money again 😏

$4000 in one month making deliveries in your own car

Not easy but decent money. You need your own car and you must be an excellent driver.

Commuting from Richmond to D.C.

I am currently looking for a new job, but everyone I am looking for my job field is in D.C. The last thing I want to do is commute, but I also want to know if there is anyone that does make that commute and if you do, is it as bad as I would imagine or not at all?

Any feedback about Dominion Outsourcing LLC?

I accepted a work from home call center position with Dominion Outsourcing and start my training today. It's been a struggle communicating with them so I'm looking for any feedback about them as a company and/or an employer. Should I keep looking for other jobs while I'm employed by them? I've been out of a job for almost a month now and I hate having to rely on my partner paying for everything so I want to avoid another lengthy period of unemployment if possible.

For context, I have a bachelor's degree in psychology and a master's degree in education. Thanks for any help!

Looking for Entry level Bio jobs, plus other interests.

Hi, I need a sustainable gig in the Richmond area, or remote. I think I'm super hireable but don't we all...

I have a Bio Undergrad Degree and have passion in sustainability, innovation, and environmental science. I have done some conservation work and outdoor leadership, but have not had very much lab experience except for college.

I have graphic design and adobe suite skills, about 2 years. Various projects for friends and businesses. I am a creative and have been painting, illustrating for a few years. Would LOVE a creative job.

lastly, I would be down for any place with a good culture. Matters more to me who I'm with and our vibes than what we do sometimes. Breweries, music stores, gigs, venues, outdoor education, whatever..

Thanks a bunch for the brainstorming,
Ethan

Has anyone worked at Insight Global, The Richmond Group USA, or Actalent?

I have a few different opportunities I am deciding between for entry level recruiting roles. My decision is almost made but wanted to see if anyone here had experience working at any of these three companies. I’ve talked to a each company a lot and have scoured their Glassdoors but want to hear about any personal experience y’all may have had.

Need help finding science based companies to do research lab position that’s non academic??

(TLDR: looking for non academic science technician research position (R&D/QA/QC) hiring in central or Petersburg, VA for someone with a masters of science in addiction studies and psychology bachelors and also has moderate lab experience and great scientific job references)

Hiiii

I’m a 28 y.o. female that has a bachelors in Psychology, Masters of Science in addiction studies and various job experiences:

-Pharmacology/Toxicology lab technician doing animal colony maintenance, drug formulation, drug administration, behavioral assays, lab upkeep, experimental design and execution for NIDA funded grants (1.25 years) -Pathology lab technician doing animal colony maintenance, molecular work/histology/PCR/dissections etc. (6 months) -IACUC Manager for all of VCU’s animal research protocols overseeing research ethics and compliance with the P.I.’s and facilitating and coordinating education events related to animal research ethics and compliance for the community (1 year 7 months)

I also have 1 publication where I am not first author but I am included in the author list.

Also important to note that I am MISERABLE at my current job doing desk work because they won’t even compensate me for gaining a masters degree. I am making 60k in my current position at VCU but I know I can make so much more out of academia… I also miss doing any kind of hands on research and was hoping if anyone had any ideas of where I should apply outside of academia??

I already applied for both associate scientist, associate research scientist, and scientist positions at Thermofisher and was debating on applying to Civica in Petersburg because my house is in Petersburg, VA (but I’m willing to commute for the right pay).

Does anyone have any leads or suggestions given my odd background of not having a biology/chemistry etc. degree but still wanting to continue in possibly R&D and maybe QA/QC (if it’s the right fit)?

I’m willing to commute anywhere around central Virginia and near Petersburg, VA.

TYSM in advance ❤️❤️

Home Harmony is hiring Client Care Specialists

We don't know how reddit works, but we know people have heard about us from local reddit communities so we're giving recruiting a try on here! 😅

We're looking for people who have wide-open hearts and who want to help members of the community find peace in their homes. Many of our clients have some kind of mental health experience or physical impairment that causes them to struggle with daily tasks like folding laundry, sorting mail, washing dishes, emptying litter boxes, taking the trash out, etc.

Sometimes clients have a hard time letting go of items that cause them stress because…

  • "What if I need this someday?"
  • Or, "My mom bought this for my child and she'll ask about it next time she's here."
  • Or, "I have a hard time looking at my things that are from before my transition."

You need to be able to do not only the physical labor part of hauling, scrubbing, sorting, and sweeping, but also do the heart labor of listening, being empathetic, and providing judgement-free support.

As a Client Care Specialist, you must be able to:

  • Drive your own vehicle to and from appointments
  • Follow instructions
  • Use critical thinking skills to help clients formulate a plan if instructions are unclear (IE: "I just don't know where to start!")
  • Lift heavy objects (IE: moving a recliner to sweep crayons and yogurt cups from underneath it and carrying bags of trash to dumpsters)
  • Be on your feet/bend over frequently for 3 hours at a time or more
  • Work in homes that are impacted by pests and severe neglect
  • Keep track of PPE and cleaning supplies and request a restock when necessary
  • Work while the client is home and while the client is out
  • Take part in monthly team meetings on top of regular daily communication
  • Be available Sunday-Saturday 9-5, with two-to-four weekdays off of your choosing every week. (You decide how many days per week you want to work vs. you want to have off. Everyone's needs and abilities are different!)

You also must be up-to-date on your COVID-19 vaccinations and be willing to wear a mask when requested, as we work with immunocompromised clients regularly. Other immunizations are highly recommended due to the nature of our work.

The pay is $17 an hour during an initial probation period of 90 days, and $18 an hour after that (including breaks and drive time between appointments).

Within your first year, you will be trained in Mental Health First Aid and receive a certification. At that point, your pay will go up $1/hr.

Being a small company, we do not have all the fancy benefits options that larger companies have. We believe in being completely transparent about that from the start.

Our current additional compensation options and benefits are :

  • All Home Harmony-related mileage over 20 miles per day is reimbursed to you at the rate of $0.63/mile.
  • Half off our group rate for a Seven Hills Family Medicine membership for you + 2 adults of your choosing + up to 3 minors.

As we grow, we have big dreams about other benefits and increased pay. It has been hard to be realistic about what we can provide, but we hope this small benefits package will grow as our team does! We recognize that businesses are nothing without the people who show up and work hard every day, and we do our best to honor that.

This position can be hard on your body and your heart, therefore to prevent burnout we are only hiring for up to 20 hours per week at the start.

There is no difference in treatment or benefits between part time and full time workers. It is all the same work - there is no reason to pay anyone less for not working themselves to the bone.

If this sounds like a place where you want to be, please VISIT THE LINK BELOW to apply on our website.
