RES used to have this save feature: If you have Reddit gold on an account, you can add a category/tag to comments you have saved with Reddit, then filter saved comments/posts by category. (You cannot sort or filter comments saved with RES.)
I've had Reddit Premium for many years now and still have over 9 months remaining. I really love the categorization option for saving posts. 99% of the time I use old.Reddit. I remember being able to filter for specific category not that long ago. I know it was on September 29 because that's when I made [this wiki on the r/drugs sub to prepare for 'Best of 2024' post/event I was planning to do (link to that wiki. I've been collecting posts/comment I thought might be good material since Jan first 2024.
Now the filter buttons are gone on my saved posts/comments section of my profile page. And I can't add new saved posts to specific categories (see screen capture for what I mean.
Using latest version of Firefox (131.0.3 (64-bit)) and the RES extension (Version 5.24.7). Disabled all other extensions but still didn't fix it. Tried saving with most recent/up to date Edge browser and RES exertion too (Version 5.24.7) and doesn't work there either.
Btw, for both browsers I even disabled the 'Enhanced Tracking Protection' built in the browser.
Did Reddit somehow make it so that this feature doesn't work anymore?
How do I change the font size of subreddit links?
I want to have the r/sub text larger so I can see immediately if it's a funny/crapPost/news/real/notreal easier on my eyes
is this possible?
Solved by u/XenoBen
What's up?
Opening this sub it just loads grey bar after grey bar of pages, no posts are shown. I have tested many other subs and it's just this one I can find with the problem. Both while using and not using subreddit style.

When Firefox is launched with Wayland display protocol, the Request Permission
does nothing. When you launch Firefox with Xwayland it works as intended.
Where does it happen?
Everywhere.

Requires Twitter permission, can't be granted.

Old Reddit/RES has the save image icon which is GREAT. It saves the image in native format (Not webp) and all of a sudden the other day. Save Image and browser crashes.
I have cleared browser cache, restarted windoze etc.
Tried in Firefox and button is un responsive.
Sad noise and face if this is no longer a thing.
Whenever I click the little button to show an image on my front page, the image takes a very long time to load. If it's a slideshow I'm doomed, because every image loads slowly. I just installed RES a few days ago, and wasn't having this issue before just using regular (old) reddit without any extensions.
RES is the only extension I have installed on this browser
There seems something wrong with reddit. I have read spam policy and i found that i didn't broke any rule but i am got removed at morning and now as i logged in my profile is working fine. Reddit should check it.
Just installed a fresh Windows 11 Pro, installed both Chrome and Firefox. I use FF for RES and reddit. Logged on to my account but as soon as I go to http://old.reddit.com (I prefer the old style) it says I'm not logged in. If I click on any subreddit I'm logged in again.
What gives?
edit: Reinstalled Firefox via Revo Uninstall and get the exact same problem.
edit2: Just for funsies I installed RES on Chrome and it works like it should. But I've always used FireFox as my Reddit browser of choice.
What's up? In RES dashboard each multireddit widget gives the message "There was an error loading data for this widget. Reddit may be under heavy load, or you may have provided an invalid path." This was working a week ago and no changes were made to the dashboard.
Checked the widget multireddit path is using the old.reddit.com domain. The same message shows for paths using reddit.com and old.reddit.com
Checked the multireddits are still alive.
Cleared cached and history and restarted the browser.
I minimized all but 1 or 2 widgets with only a few links each, waited 30 minutes and got the same error on page refresh. This test is to see if Reddit's connection blocker was at fault for pulling too many link too quickly.
Is anyone else having issues?

Twitter preview doesn't show images on Chrome/Edge. This used to work on Chrome Beta but didn't work after I switched to normal Chrome and continued to not work when I switched to Edge. I re-installed Chrome Beta and it doesn't work there now either.
I've seen other posts here about this feature not working on Firefox, but I haven't seen anything about Edge/Chrome. Is this permanently broken on Chrome/Edge now as well?

It appears that 1Password has a brand new incompatibility with RES where it prevents permission prompts from appearing in the browser.
I've contacted 1Password support and they've confirmed this however no timeline or commitment to fix has been given.
For the timebeing, if you experience this issue you can get around it by temporarily disabling 1Password, expanding the host again to trigger the permission prompt, accepting the permission then re-enabling 1Password.
Hopefully we get an update soon on a fix.
What's up?
I'm in the process of switching from Chrome to Firefox. I imported all my RES settings, but there is something different in how it downloads animated posts. In Chrome, when a video is expanded via the expando, I press the floppy disk "save" icon to download it. In Chrome it downloads a *.mp4 but in FF it's an invalid *.gif that only works once it's manually renamed to a *.mp4.
Where does it happen?
Seems to not matter where it's hosted.

What browser extensions are installed?
Brief testing with only RES installed suggests it's no related to another extension.
Any way to disable link posts to link directly to what ever they are spamming and instead open the post with comments, when clicking on the title? (Dont wanna go to the spam link, but to comments)
Just found RES and done some changes and hopped over to old.reddit.com However, i wish to highlight the sub-reddit each post because now i need to sit and look for a long time until i find where the subreddit is over and over.

On certain subs and comments like in /r/Amd when having "Use subreddit style" unticked, a horizontal scroll bar appears and a little extra empty space is added to the right side of the page. This is annoying when auto scrolling with middle mouse button.

What browser extensions are installed? Ublock Origin Dark Reader Same result after I disabled them
Same issue in Firefox 129.0.2
For the last day or so any and all gif/gifv/mp4 imgur hosted expandos won't load for me. Clicking the expando shows an empty box with the broken page icon within.
Clicking each of these links will load just fine directly on imgur but I'd obviously rather the expandos work.
Other animated expandos are working as expected, e.g. redgifs, v.reddit.
Where does it happen?
Somewhat useless example thread here.

When using this button to save an image, it just downloads directly to my Downloads folder
Can I change this behavior to show the Save As.. dialog box so I can choose the location each time?
Thanks!
When visiting my profile comments I am met with infinity scroll but none of the comments load. See photo None of my own comments are visible.
This only happens on my profile comments page (www.reddit.com/user/YOURUSERNAME/comments/). I can see my comments if I visit my profile.
I hadn't changed any filtering recently and I noticed the profile 2 days ago.
My employer blocks chrome store downloads, anything chrome personalized. So I can no longer install extensions from the store, for Chrome or Brave browser.
Since Brave has adblock native, I'm using Brave v1.68.134
Trying to load the extension manually and don't think i'm doing it correctly.
__
I downloaded the .zip file from here: https://github.com/honestbleeps/Reddit-Enhancement-Suite
I then unzipped it to a temp folder
Opened Brave/Extensions and enabled dev mode
Select: Load Unpacked
navigate to: C:\temp\RES\Reddit-Enhancement-Suite-master\Reddit-Enhancement-Suite-master\chrome
I then get this error:
Error Required value 'version' is missing or invalid. It must be between 1-4 dot-separated integers each between 0 and 65536. Could not load manifest.
kind of a noob at this, but RES is worthy of the struggle. TIA
Clicking on the Lock symbol for v.redd.it for example gives prompt:
Permission Required
In order to inline expand content from v.redd.it, RES needs permission to access these sites:
redd.it
Be assured RES does not access/modify any of your information on these domains - it only accesses the public API.
If you prefer not to use RES' expando for these sites, you may:
Disable this host
Checking the Request Permissions tab in RES config, shows it to be greyed out, clicking it gives no visible activity, but F12 consoles gives error, see below screenshot.
Anywhere with a lock expando.

Screenshot above.
EDIT: Solution courtesy of /u/Watchful1.
Temporarily disable 1Password extension, click locks, popup should now appear (if not, close and reopen browser), re-enable 1Password extension.
Solution is here https://www.reddit.com/r/RESissues/comments/pje3x2/expandos_in_linuxwaylandfirefox_permissions/hcn7mx5/
no idea how to do this
open js console (F12) and grab window.location.href. Then copy and paste that into a normal tab and click the button. THEN I get the real firefox balloon message about actually granting the permissions.
What's up? Any time I click "home" it bombs out and doesnt load anymore. This started about 2 weeks ago.
Where does it happen? On the "Home" shortcut at the top of RES

I think it disappeared sometime last week and I'm not seeing anything in the RES options to enable/disable it. Anyone know what happened or how to bring it back?
What's up?
Reddit will just load up to a blank page when I click on a comments section or just try to navigate the site. Will work after I restart Firefox for a bit, then fail again.

What's up?
I can browse reddit fine for a few minutes then things just stop. I can still hover over things on the front page and they'll show, but when clicking to comment or read I just get a blank page. When I refresh I get a "cache bust" link in the bar.
I clear out the cookies, go to log in, it says I'm logged in, then redirects to the front page NOT logged in, but if I clink on ALL, I'm logged in only to start this process all over again.
Where does it happen?
This is happening with Firefox (most recent version) and also in Chrome where I just got a dead page as well.
Screenshots or mock-ups
What browser extensions are installed?
Firefox w/ hover zoom and RES, Google Chrome, no extensions.
What's up? When i.redgifs image is expanded it loads the broken image sprite. Actually gifs don't have this issue.
Where does it happen? Anywhere that isn't the post itself. Read: r/all, user profile, domain/i.redgifs.com

What browser extensions are installed? A lot, but the only combination that has issues is old.reddit and RES enabled.

after switching to my alt and back the "opt-out of new reddit" becomes broken. everything (on my main account) becomes new reddit but the settings still show "prefer old reddit". only way to fix it is to deselect "prefer old reddit" and then select it again.
Where does it happen?
Every time when switching back from the alt account.
