The Autumn Wind is a raider,

Pillaging just for fun.

He'll knock you 'round and upside down,

And laugh when he's conquered and won.

Raiders have hired Mark Thewes as Senior Vice President of Football Operations.

Unfortunately, they couldn’t block out the Donkey’s logo more than a light blur. He spent many years as an executive/assistant to the head coach with the broncos (multiple regimes), and previously with the Cleveland Browns.

Los Angeles Raiders vs San Francisco 49ers (September 5, 1994) "Napoleun McCallum Awful Leg Injury"

The Raiders selected McCallum in the 4th round of the 1986 NFL Draft out of the United States Naval Academy. He wore Nos. 34 (1986) and 41 (1990-94) in two stints with the Raiders. In all, he played in 74 games with 6 starts and gained 790 yards on 223 carries with 6 TDs.

I remember watching this when it happened. Terrible.

Currently 2nd in odds to land Myles Garrett. Pipe dream but trust leadership if actually pull trigger🏴‍☠️

Clearly need to build across the board on offense/defense. Landing MG to pair with Mad Maxx would obviously be insane🤯

ITS ALIVE….The “Raider Frankenstein Brain Trust”

This is shaping up to be a fusion of greatness.

Tom Brady’s methodical mind, Pete Carroll’s championship DNA and motivational swagger, Chip Kelly’s dynamic offenses, Patrick Graham’s defensive schemes and John Spytek scouting and personnel—this monster is alive and kicking.

It’s like the ultimate Raiders revival project, channeling that Al Davis “Commitment to Excellence” energy.

Now the big question is: How will this brain trust navigate the draft and upcoming season? Will they aim for bold, revolutionary moves like Davis would have? Or take a more surgical, strategy-driven approach with Brady’s influence? Let’s hear your thoughts!

Does not sit right with me

I don’t care what anyone says—Tom Brady becoming a minority owner of the Raiders just doesn’t sit right.

We all know the history. The Tuck Rule game robbed us of a Super Bowl run, and now the guy who benefited from it is sitting at the table like nothing happened. It’s not just about that game either—Brady represents everything we’ve hated for decades: the Patriots dynasty, the NFL’s favoritism towards New England, and a culture that was the complete opposite of what the Raiders stood for.

Now, I get that he’s just a minority owner, and he probably won’t have much actual power. But that’s exactly why this move feels pointless. How does this help us? This doesn’t make the front office more competent, it doesn’t improve the roster, and it sure as hell doesn’t fix the dysfunction that’s plagued this franchise.

Mark Davis clearly loves Brady, but Raiders fans don’t. This isn’t just some random ex-player joining the team—this is the guy who played a direct role in one of the most painful moments in Raiders history. It’s tone-deaf, unnecessary, and honestly, just gross optics.

I don’t care if he brings a “winning culture” or whatever excuse people throw out. This team needs stability and real leadership, not Brady’s name slapped onto the ownership group. If it somehow leads to success, fine, but right now? It just feels wrong.

Edgar Bennett

With all the coaching news, and in light of Greg Olson coming back again (again). . .

I’m here waiting for the news of Edgar Bennett being retained as WR coach. Man lasted from Gruden to Pierce. Some of the only stability we’ve had; he’s a good coach too.

Thoughts?

Per Ian Rap “Cooper Kupp will be on the move, per Cooper Kupp.”

Maybe a solid vet option for a young QB??

[Silver] Veteran assistant coach Greg Olson is heading back to the Raiders--again--as the QB coach on Pete Carroll's staff, @VicTafur and I have learned. He'll work under new OC Chip Kelly. Olson was the Raiders' OC for their most recent playoff appearance in 2021.

Sincere McCormick Pass Blocking

I loved the burst that Sincere provided to the offense, but on plays where he’s asked to pass block he’s an absolute liability. Im rooting for the guy, but with his weaknesses I think we need to draft or sign a starting RB.

Chip Kelly’s predictability in his Eagles run. Why is no one talking about this?

https://www.bleedinggreennation.com/2015/12/22/10636432/chip-kelly-offense-eagles-cardinals-patrick-peterson-quote-defense

All the attention seems to be on drafting Howard or picking up another mobile QB, but no one’s mentioning how Eagles players seemed to be losing faith in his play calling. Am I looking too deep into this?

A realistic expectation for the new-look Raiders

Pete Carroll 3 year contract (with 4th year option):

Year 1:

  • Install a new culture
  • Winning season (9 wins)

Year 2:

  • Culture solidified (players want to stay)
  • Playoff berth

Year 3:

  • Culture established (attracts top FAs)
  • Playoff win!

Year 4:

  • Extension at age 76?
  • Pass the torch?
