Hi everyone,
I will be in my first year at QUT on November 18, i want to preview my lecture before get into class. Where can I get it?
Hey, just a quick question for those who have gotten exam deferrals.
I've been really sick for a couple days and don't think i will be able to sit my exam in a couple days. How hard is it to get a deferral? Do I need to get an in person medical certificate or is an online one okay, and what's the chances I get accepted?
i’ve recently received my conditional letter, but the problem is i have high number of backlogs in my bachelors due to some serious medical problems i wasn’t able to attend exams. but any how i received conditional letter considering i have strong financial situation with all the legitimate documents supporting it. iam now furthering my application getting all the paperwork ready and will apply it on monday. but iam not sure if further assessment i will get COE and what are my visa acceptance chances considering my situation
Im wanting to get into qut however I am scared that I will get below the atar requirement. Anyone succesful stories out there ?
I’m currently studying at UQ for engineering but struggling really bad, and I’m worried that my GPA might not be high enough when I do want to transfer to QUT. Do I use the cumulative GPA to compare to the equivalent ATAR? I’m looking at the ATAR conversion from the UQ site and it says 3.5 ish is equivalent to tough 85 ATAR..
Does the Shuttle bus run on weekends? I have an exam on Saturday at kelvin grove.
I am registering electives for next semester and took some challenging courses that have brought my average down a bit. I am currently working full time so my time is spread quite thin.
I’m looking for some units that are relatively straight forward that are easier to get 7’s in. I’ve heard IFN541 isn’t too hard, hoping to find some others to register. Any ideas appreciated! Thanks for reading :)
Just picking an advanced law elective for Sem 2 2025. Choices: commercial contracts in practice health law & practice public international law Innovation & IP law
Any recommendations? Any that is easy, useful, or well-organised? TIA
I’ve enrolled to master of it, wondering how long it takes for me to get a response.

Hey everyone, ive been accepted in to bach of pharm starting in sem 1 2025. Its giving me the option to enrol and its extremely confusing, i was thinking about going in person to have it done but i am sick rn and will probably have to wait a few weeks. Is that okay or is there some sort of census date coming up that i should complete my enrolment before?
looking for advice from architecture students about doing ABB123 Sustainability and Design Thinking for the Construction Industry.
I have just completed ABB214 Environmental Principles, and it was hard but amazing.
Is ABB123 worth doing?
is there any recommended reading prior? I already have Bainbridge and Haggard (Passive Solar Architecture) and Lechner and Andrasik (Heating Cooling and Lighting) and Kwok and Grondzik (The Green Studio Handbook)
(i’m gonna be calling the uni tmrow but wondering for quick answers here)
currently a year 12 student n i applied for the qut early entry, however i keep getting notifications that the documents i uploaded are insufficient but i uploaded the correct documents: a full screenshot of my internal scores. i called the uni earlier bc i asked my school career coordinator to generate a pdf of my learning account summary but he wasn’t too sure what it was and gave me a pdf of my internal scores however the uni guy said that i could pick either one so i uploaded a screenshot of my qcaa internal scores but then i got a notifications saying it was insufficient so then i uploaded what my teacher sent and my own screenshot but it’s still showing up as insufficient 😭😭 i’m so confused, is anyone else having the same issue?
I'm a cardiac physiologist who has been accepted for an echo training position next year at my current workplace.
I'm really struggling to decide whether to go with the QUT or UniSA cardiac Sonography course.
QUT has certainly been around longer (this has a level of prestige I guess), whereas UniSA has only been operating for 3-4 years. Almost everyone at my current workplace are QUT graduates understandably. I'm not sure if employers look more favourably upon a QUT graduate as opposed to UniSA. Both are ASAR accredited.
Course content and structure wise, I believe both are similar.
I've heard rumours that there've been some recent changes in course coordinators QUT, and the current coordinator is not as attentive? I've also heard whispers that the quality of QUT is going down whereas UniSA is going up, though I'm not sure on what basis people are making these comments.
QUT is 8-9k more expensive.
QUT requires applicants to have '3 months full-time echo experience' prior to applying (though according to my manager they don't strictly enforce this), whereas UniSA has no such requirement and teaches from the ground up.
Does anyone have any opinions on either course?
Hello,
Im currently sitting on what I believe to be is decently average marks for a ATAR. There is one factor though - physics. I have never been strong at physics and my obsession with it ultimatley led to my downfall.
These are my estimated results:
EnglishScore- 83
Study of ReligionScore- 81
PhysicsScore- 46
Legal StudiesScore- 86
Gen Math score - 76
Compared to physics, if i did modern history and recieved a 75/100 I would be sitting on a 87 atar compared to the 73 estimated now. Its completely embarassing how one subject can demolish any chance I have of getting into my desired double degree in Law/Justice.
I understand I can go into the Justice degree by itself, do a semester and then transfer into the double degree with a GPA that would equate to a 99.95 atar and still keep the credit points allowing me to not add on any years to the double degree. (long sentence i know)
My question is, will this atar affect me considerably in trying to apply to UNI or applying to a law firm outside of UNI once I finish? Is there anything I can do?
Im a idiot for choosing physics and not choosing a humantiarian subject in which i would excel in, but at the end of the day it is my own fault.
How long does it take for QUT to respond to postgrad applications? It has been 3 weeks since i applied to nasters in psychology
I’ve had a really difficult year and I’m worried my ATAR won’t be high enough for university. I did pick up a diploma in Year 12 and applied for early entry. What are my chances of getting into university? Am I in trouble? I hope I haven’t ruined anything for myself.
Hey I am going to be the future student at QUT and i will be pursuing "BACHELOR'S OF ENGINEERING HONOURS (COMPUTER SCIENCE AND SOFTWARE)". I am planning on buying a new laptop and for that I need to know the minimum specs i should get. Do drop your recommendations , it will be highly appreciated. Thank you all! :^)
Hi all, currently doing a Bachelor of Engineering (Computer and Software System) and almost finished my 1st year, I didn't really enjoy some aspects of it but I enjoyed the coding parts so I will be switching into the Bachelor of IT (Computer Science). Talked to faculty and they drafted me up a study plan based on units I've already done.
Just wondering if this study plan is any good? Is there maybe a semester where there is 2 or 3 hard units bunched together?

people are fully treating study rooms like it's their living room. if i have to walk in and tell one more person to get your BARE FEET off the table because i have this room booked i might explode. it's a public space, keep your shoes on (or socks at least) and pick up your rubbish when you leave. i don't understand how this is hard?? has this happened to anyone else? am i just cursed?
I’ve applied for the eas thing but I’m worried on how many points I will get . U guys know anything abt it ?
Hi guys, I am currently in grade 12 looking to study at QUT next year, and have been eager to be apart of QUT's motorsport team for years. I just wanted to know what it takes to be apart of it, and what are the onboarding sessions like, if I am able to choose what part of the team to work in, and if there are limited spots.
Has anyone started a grievance solution before as per this link?
I have had quite a bad unit where I honestly felt like I wasted my money. I have pretty good evidence and backing to support my claims and complaints. Just wondering if anyone has experience going this far. I strongly believe the student voice survey may not be enough for the matter
Hey everyone,
I‘m am an exchange student from Germany coming to QUT in Febuary for one semester. I would love to connect with people already. So I‘ve you‘re an exchange student aswell -hit me up! (If you‘re not an exchange student you‘re welcome to text me too of course)
I love to socialize, travel, do sports and experience new things. What about you?
Hi, i’m about studying civil engineer at QUT, i need to have a new laptop for study. Do I need a laptop with RTX? Who was studying civil engineer suggests me a laptop you have used. My budget is under 1400 USD.
I'm a Master's student. I've completed three semesters with a GPA above 4. In this semester I couldn't put the same efforts for the 3 units because of personal issues & mental health problems. I'm not sure If I can pass these units given the predicament I'm in.
I'd like to know whether this is grounds for academic probation or exclusion from the course.
Does anyone else wish they could experience QUT (or UQ) dying the 2000s or 1990s? Or honestly anything before 2015 even.
I was born 2003, so certainly couldn't have been in uni at the time but when I see old pictures, the vibes seem very nice and fun (I also love how ppl dressed back then). I guess it's just a general nostalgia over that period. But I do think uni was more meaningful and fun back then.
These days campus feels quite dead. There's no real "culture" I see, and whatever there is, feels a bit forced. With tech development, everyone having smartphones- I'm sure we r interacting less with each other than we used too.
Anyways, nothing serious, just sort of wish I could experience what uni was like back then!
Edit - I also get this feeling when I'm at the GP main library or law library. Seeing all the books on the shelves. I know nobody checks then out or uses most of them now but a lot of them look well worn. I'm sure it was harder, but so interesting to imagine a time where people would actually use the books there to research. When the internet wasn't as big of a thing.
If anyone has any old pics, please add them below, I'd love to see!
Ill be starting Engineering management at QUT gardens point from Feb 2025. Anyone else perceiving the same course or something similar? I have recieved the CoE & waiting for VISA.
I am currently a grade 12 student wanting ot go QUT for a bachelors of engineering and bachelors of science. I made this my first QTAC preference and I soon have to submit my results to be assesed. It says that I need a mark above 70% across atleast three general subjects and atleast passed two of those general subjects (which I did), but when I look at my results, I barely missed out on consistently get above 70% for each IA for three general subjects (a lot of stupid mistakes and interuptions), however they still tallied up to an overall percentage of above 70% for those three. I called QUT to understand the requirement better, but the dude said he wasn't sure, but said that if I do meet the requirements I am guaranteed a spot. Can anyone clarify? I feel like i'm not eligible.
