New band featuring the bandleader of Norwegian electronic jazz band Jaga Jazzist. From their EP, debut album in February.
For me it's: John Freese of A Perfect Circle on drums, Colin Edwin of Porcupine Tree on bass, Javier Reyes of Animals as Leaders on guitar and Ian Kenny on vocals. Would you listen to this band? :D
I’m really craving some offbeat drum patterns(or any insturment), like the start of ‘Combustion’ by Meshuggah. I probably know the mainstream ones, so if you have something more underground, I’d love to hear it. But hey, I’m open to any suggestions!
I recently got into prog metal and am struggling to find new bands to listen to. If anyone has a good playlist on Spotify and is willing to share throw them at me!
Their 2024 album "lunaison" on bandcamp.

Caeli Concept biography
CAELI CONCEPT plays an original and unique style of progressive metal utilizing a brass section with musicians that are full members of the band.
This is music that proves there is a lot of room for making metal music that sounds unlike most current metal bands.
Not a lot is known at this point about the band, there isn't even a proper band photo available, but the line-up consists of Clément REVIRIEGO (guitar), Paul PARSAT (guitar), Clément DENYS (drums), Benoit SERRET (bass), Flavien MOREL (keyboards), Emilie KLIPFEL (saxophone), Oliver VISEUX (trombone) and Nicolas RENARD (trumpet).
Their debut album "The Dark Playground" was released in April of 2021.
Edit : "mise en forme"
Looking for some new artists and bands to get stuck into for the rest of the year, throw your recommendations below !
What are the bands whose style is so unique and mature you can tell it's their song right away? In my case it's Mastodon, Haken and Karnivool.
I am an ultra introverted recluse with little to no friends ( I like it that way), however, this causes a lack of discussion when my partner has only a vague interest in prog music. I am also a long time reddit lurker that has never posted, so forgive me for any internet etiquette blind spots I may have.
My question is what would be in your personal Progmetal Hall of Fame?
For me there is one above all, then a set of two and then a list of Hall of Famers that I would be sad not to hear a new album the day it releases.
First inductee: Between The Buried and Me
Second and third: Persefone and Ne Obliviscaris
Then I love: Wilderun, Caligua's Horse, Opeth, Parius, The World Is Quiet Here, Nospun, Aspherium, The Anchoret, Omenrod, Fires in the Distance, Haken and sadly Native Construct.
Obviously, I love other bands as well. (no Dream Theater OMG) This is my Hall of Fame. What is yours? I think it would be a fun way to learn about new bands and be reminded of old favorites.

I've added everything referenced from a top-level comment, even if someone commented "not a hidden gem", or it turned out it was from before 2024. It's all albums, so best played on randomize perhaps. Enjoy, and thanks to everyone for these awesome recs.

I know this is a stupid question not at all related to prog metal but since I respect this subs views on music I'm genuinely interested. They don't even have to be metal bdw, just good. Mine would be undertale and Hollowkight just of the top of my head.
