What few songs do you hope they play? Personally i would like to see lacquer head, pudding time and jellikit over the two nights. Out of all of them i would love to hear lacquer head the most as its my favorite song of theirs and its my birthday on the first so it would be like the coolest thing ever!!
i feel like the intro guitar thing in blue collared tweakers is a sample from the movie fantastic planet am i just bonking... or am i on to something... because it sounds like it's from the movie...
Who do u guys want they to tour with Edit: Not stadium tour i meant just normal like 10-15k venu tour
I decided to scrap my cover of John the Fisherman after Primus’ latest statement regarding drum auditions. Here’s an original medley by me, showcasing my abilities to hold down the pocket and contribute to the writing process in a creative way!

The only downside was being confined to the eKit. (My downstairs neighbors hate me!) Thanks for taking the chance to check it out! I’ll most likely be posting some more medleys like this as well!
Here goes nothin'! Thanks for taking the time to check this out. It's half Primus covers and half original moments. Let me know if you like what you see.

Primus Tracklist:
00:00 - 1:36 Shake Hands with Beef intro (Brain copy)
1:37 - 2:19 John the Fisherman intro (Herb copy)
2:20 - 3:50 HOINFODAMAN intro (improv)
3:51- 5:56 Glass Sandwich (improv)
5:57 - 7:15 The Ol' Diamondback Sturgeon (improv)
7:16 - 11:22 Pudding Time (improv)
11:23 - 15:21 Mr. Krinkle (Herb copy)
15:22 and on is original stuff.
I want to play a few Primus songs at an open mic kind of thing (specifically Primus because I can’t sing) The only song I’ve practiced and can consistently play in time while singing is Jerry was a racecar driver. Ive tried DMV and lacquer head a bit and I think I could definitely do those with practice. And I think I might be able to do John the fisherman with enough practice. Not sure about other songs though
Edit: Mostly looking for bass, but any songs that are easy while playing are still helpful
I ordered the mystery bundle of posters and got this signed poster as one of them, I am curious about it's origin story.
Added a part 2. Video in my audition that had more live clips than covers. Features my best most of live/original ideas. Part 1 has more covers. Check it out! I have a good feeling of Les sees that I’ll get a call. Thanks for all the support on my past posts! I’m only uploading part of it here because 8 minutes is too long to post on Reddit. Here’s the YouTube link to the full video! Cheers!
Hello from NJ, America! I just joined this sub. I’ve been a big fan for years. I finally saw them live for the first time in April in Texas at the Irving/Dallas Sessanta show. Fucking amazing! I’m looking forward to the NJ show next May.
To my fellow record players/collectors and audiophiles, I would like to know which albums and pressings are the best to look for. I don’t need every album on wax, but I’d like one or two that sound worthy of having the CD and vinyl.
Favorite albums in no order: Cheese, Brown, Punchbowl, and maybe Naugahyde.
Which pressings are the best to look for? Thanks in advance! 🍻
Thought I would just create a "two-disc" version of Primus songs from 1990 - 2003. Any ideas on fan-favourites apart from the ones already on the original compilation? Also, how should I spread the tracks I choose between two discs / digital playlists?
Note: Nothing wrong with the original compilation (it still has one of the coolest CD packaging ideas), just wanting to expand it, for no main reason. Just thought it would be nice to talk about it.
Edit (link to playlist I created on TIDAL, you hopefully should be able to view it): https://tidal.com/browse/playlist/9c586702-016c-490d-b261-477c5751d796
Going for around 30 songs max, so trying not to bloat it too much.
New video. Can't wait for that guy to cry about it. He knows who he is.
This feels like a stupid question but everything online is mixed
Idk I get a lot of the other references but not the bud light one cans someone kinda explain it to me or tell me what album it’s on or song or something
Was watching primus jams and this short lick came on before the video cut to another jam, is this a song or just a continuation of the jam? The way bucketehead left the stage and the way Les and brain connected immediately made me think it’s a song I don’t know of theirs. Any help appreciated
Hey ! Just wanted to share my drumming audition vid for Primus open call ! Pretty proud of it, regardless of the fact that it’s such a long shot ! lol
is it just me or are the vast majority choosing brown album and antipop songs.
To me it makes sense as brain was the most stripped down in terms of drum set.
Hey gang. Primus fan and bassist in training here. I felt bored and wanted to ask all of you guys what the easiest primus song is (like, THE EASIEST) and the hardest primus song is (like, THE HARDEST)
I'll take ranges.
New poster posted to Primus instagram
“Ring in the New Year this 12/30 & 31 at The Fox Theater in Oakland, CA with two nights of Claypool Gold, featuring the unholy alliance of Primus, The Frog Brigade, and The Holy Mackerel. Tickets for both nights are almost sold out and available at primusville.com”
I am very excited for both nights, will it still be the fisherman’s ball? What do you think we can expect from this show??
I’m curious to find out if this means these are now Les career shows rather than Primus with drummers from these bands. Could be cool, but I was hoping for a proper Primus show after seeing them do the Rush show twice.
