will show up as: Powerless

I remember there was a ep with a ant or spider or something
You'd think it would be on Peacock...
I've always been curious about the unaired pilot that was shown at SDCC since I knew they drastically retooled the show. And some kind soul has finally posted it onto Youtube! https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=T7OAgOqZlEQ
It seems like most studios don't mind if their unaired pilots end up online, but there's no guarantee of that so I'd recommend watching it ASAP just in case!
It's amazing just how different it is. Most of the cast are the same with (mostly) the same names, they reused a bit of the opening in the new pilot and the subplot about thinking a co-worker is secretly a superhero made it into the regular series, but virtually everything else is different, the setting, the plot, the tone, and even the characterization of each character.
I love the series we did get so I can't say I wish they had gone with this version instead, but I also would really have loved to see this version of the show made into a series.
the only places i see it available are for $2 an episode or $20 for the season. I just want to show it to my friends to show them i’m not crazy about this show.
Powerless was such an awesome show! I watched it about a month ago and it was amazing! And then I realized there was only one season and it didn't have a proper season finale :( It had so much potential to be a popular show but the network just,,, gave up on it?? I wish it would come back even though its been like 4 years
the pilot never leak?
I'm re-watching the series this week and just now I realized that she wasn't immortalized in the opening credits - who's fucking awesome by the way. Does any of you know why?
Shout-out to /u/youdiejoe for posting the correct episode order and co-showrunner /u/mrbubby giving an AMA on this sub a while back!
I thought the cast was wonderful and had a great dynamic. Also props to everyone who worked on the show. Any time I read someone who was part of Powerless always had nothing but good things to say about it. You could tell people loved doing their job.
It was fun catching small details referring to other DC characters/concepts on he background. I think if the show kept going, it would definitely hit its groove (Ex. The Office and Parks & Rec for example, also struggled the first season, but hitting their stride afterward).
Loved the jabs at Trump and I think they would have planned something like a character representing Biden defeating Lex to match current news :) He did a cameo in Parks & Rec, so it would be interesting if could do another one here.
I would like to see how romantic relationships grow in the show. Maybe Emily and Teddy down the road? Emily's psycho/angry version was great and would love to see her somehow being an actual villain for an arc (finale sort of had a taste working with the bad guy).
What would you want to see on Powerless if it had more seasons?
I would love to watch full episodes again of this show and am wondering if anyone knows why Powerless isn't on this new service. The show aired on NBC right, wouldn't be easy for them to have it available even if only a few appreciate it?
POWERLESS production sometimes booked the usual background office staff for exterior shots and wardrobe would always put a hat on us so we wouldn't be recognized [sneaky]. On the final episode of the show, when Wayne Security was sold to Lex Luthor, a scene was shot at the LexCorp campus and we were added into the mix as employees. I felt a sly grin grow on my face when they handed us these very familiar bright red hats but with the LexCorp logo 😁
Out of the blue, a fresh post in the last couple of days on the official Powerless Facebook page is getting lots of traffic and shares.
Witch streaming service should get the show?
Does anyone know where to watch the show legally as I live in the uk and the show never aired over here
What do you guys think? I think they should have given the show a chance even for at least two to three seasons.
It obviously needs to come back....
i watch the show mostly for the brief appearance of crimson fox, green fury, and my favorite villain jack o'lantern. I can't seem to find any photos or videos of jack, being cancelled is one thing, being unfamous is just sad 😔. I hope to see these characters on screen soon, also i feel like i am the only fanboy for them, it's been so lonely 😶
and is basically what made me have to watch this show. Even as a fan of the DC universe the whole idea of a show NOT about superheroes was interesting to me, tho becasue it didnt look like my style of comedy, i might not have stuck it out if for not becasue of Tudyk.
Having said that, i think the intro was one of the most epic and well done animation and the song is still stuck in my head.
I was PISSED when the network pulled it off the air even before it had finished, like, jeez, was it THAT bad you just gave up on it?
This could have gotten good had it had time to find its footing.
Case in point: Would star trek the next generation been pulled off the air after 9 episodes becasue of how BAD the 1st season was? And how much impact Star Trek had after that 2nd attempt at a show, only finding its footing in season 3?
I think we might have missed out on a good run of a show that might have lasted 4 or 5 years! (or maybe 10, or have gotten as popular as stuff like Big Bang)
Also, what about trying to get on netflix? According to some new show that copied a southpark joke: Netflix grenlights everything!
Well that may not be true, but are there enough fans to give it a try to some stream service? I really think the networks need to pretty much die in the past soon.
Episode 10.
That was one of the funniest scenes in the show IMO.
