my mom has told me she will give me actual money if i recreate the goth on the beach sketch this summer, aka go to the beach in full goth attire. i am SO excited
I remember a clip of Kumail Nanjiani staring at Fred and/or Carrie while he slowly pours a 5 hour energy into his cup of coffee and then slips calmly from it.
When either Fred or Carrie ask him if that's safe/OK to do, Kamail responds (in perfect, calm, deadpan style) "I'm so jacked up right now"
Probably my favorite Kumail Portlandia line, but for the life of me, I can't find it. Tried searching all kinds of word/phrase combos... but still nothing. I watch IFC all the time in the background, but it hasn't resurfaced for a long time now. Please help!
unintentional portlandia breakfast this morning
Fred is in the Fallout show, episode 7, and essentially plays a Portlandia character. Specifically Studio Guy.
I’ve seen this commercial many times. I just imagine it is her singing it. Close your eyes and try it out.
I cannot recall the context but there’s a skit where a news caster does a play in words when calling a crime a “whodunit” scenario. Ugh if anyone can lend some help.
A fun scene w John Early
I really love the way this episodes ends. Like I really love it. The silence and brief look Doug gives. Probably taking it a little too serious, but my wife and I disagree. She thinks it implies they don’t and it’s just an awkward ride they share. I believe it’s a fate thing and they get back together. This whole episode is a very real depiction of a break up. I really just love it and want to discuss.
She also thinks Walt Grace does in that John Mayer song. So don’t attack her character if you agree with me. She’s a beautifully flawed woman. :)
S/O to plutoTV on roku, I recently leaned they often stream Portlandia episodes, just watched this one, I kinda unironically love the song lol. What a great show, endlessly rewatchable
rewatching season 5 and i think its hilarious how similar carrie looks to Justin Long when shes in character as Lance lol
This has been driving me nuts for over an hour.
It goes like this: Carrie gets talked into buying a really nice house, has a birthday party years later surrounded by family, friends and some very expensive luxury items, and gets kicked out immediately after.
I keep trying to search Google, but all it gives me is House For Sale and Nina’s Birthday.
I’m trying to find a skit that I can barely remember, I think it was Fred hearing a friend sound smart at a party talking about foreign policy, or something in that vein, then trying to repeat what he heard at work and it falls completely flat. The rest of the skit is him being thought how to talk like the original friend did. Does anyone remember this skit?
