A split off community of r/PortAngeles. the goal of this group is to engage in conversations regarding Port Angeles and our area without political censoring. That being said, this community is not a free for all. We are neighbors and family members in a small town. Please enjoy!

So with the dust settling from the election, one lesson is the importance of local politics. I want to give you all a taste of one of our local party's.
Get involved, stay tuned in.

Just wanted to add some context. They got the money through civil forfeiture. That's when the cops suspect that money or items are being be used in a crime. Don't need to be prosecuted or anything. The cops can straight rob ya https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Civil_forfeiture_in_the_United_States?wprov=sfla1
Washington currently looks the way the movies made you imagine it looks.
Hey, so I was binging said show and have been kinda miffed that our area hasn't been really featured (and by our area being anywhere north and west of Bainbridge).
I've also been thinking of how little traffic I see at Midtown (given the building is for sale and China Bar went under, I'm definitely concerned).
Anyway - I emailed the DDD team, as it does definitely falls into the "dive" category.
The world might look fucked, but you can still impact it. The native plant sale is back. Go plant something
A while back we had a post asking for subreddit feedback, and multiple people suggested a rule against personal attacks. We'd like to ask the community what your thoughts are, and to what degree this should be enforced.
In the case of option 1, minor insults, such as calling somebody "an idiot" over being ignorant, may possibly be subject to removal (context will still be considered, and we'll still take care not to hamper genuine discussion)
In the case of option 2, if someone is excessively rude, no action will be taken, more or less regardless of severity, and we suggest blocking someone if they've said something particularly offensive. Be aware however, that things against Reddit's rules, such as slurs and other hate speech, are not tolerated by Reddit, or by us.
Option 3 allows some tamer examples, (calling someone "an idiot", "asshole", "shitty", etc.) but particularly volatile language, or a member just relentlessly ripping into another beyond what is reasonably necessary will likely be removed.
This sub exists because we don't want to stifle conversations, even regarding controversial subjects, but we also want to avoid this subreddit becoming a cesspool of unfiltered toxicity. So please, let us know where you think we should draw the line between "disagreeable" and "hateful".
We are back in December at 6 pm (please note the new time!) at the PA main library. Can’t wait to see you there.
Their socials seem dead and i haven't gotten a response from their email. Is the chapter defunct?
More good news in my opinion. Upthegrove is our new lands Commissioner. Someone focused on environmental protection is what our state needs to adapt to the changing climate.
Anyone know what's going on at the fair grounds? Can't find anything on the website
All signs suggest substantial Trump victory. And with that, Clallam County’s bellwether status rides off into the sunset.
I'm incredibly disappointed in the national results. Our nation has once again elected Trump, this time with a mandate to implement his far right policy. All I can say is don't drop out, stay engaged. We must resist his worst impulses.
On more local politics, thank you for voting No. Without federal aid that will result from Trump's administration, we must rely on our state. The carbon tax will reinvigorate our economies, restore our degraded lands, and provide jobs for thousands.
Take care of yourselfs, and maybe take the day off from news and reddit. I'm gonna be spending the day recovering from sickness and reaching out to the women in my life. We will survive these 4 years
... And I couldn't be happier! Our community has been infiltrated by out of touch people and this is a testament to the fact. It's over and life is good. Enjoy the sun for the next 4 years. God bless.
Go out and vote!!
Apparently there are about 300 submitted ballots that have issues in the county, if you have submitted your ballot you can check the status here https://voter.votewa.gov/WhereToVote.aspx#/loginYou just need your First & Last Name and date of birth and it will confirm if you ballot has been accepted or if it has an issue so that you can resolve it.
The biggest cause of a problems is signature mismatches which is easy to fix.

If you haven't voted yet, please vote No on 2117. It provides a lot of needed funding for thousands of jobs and hundreds of projects. We deserve clean air and water, don't get rid of it for small immediate gain.
I got mine have you? Faster you return it, the easier it is on the election staff.
