First topical aff of the year - I’m a little lost on what 2AC blocks to cut.
What is the strategy this year? What are we doing on the case page? What about general Off case args?
Obviously this changes significantly on the aff, so for context it’s the plan text In the graffiti aff from DDI - modified to a soft left sole advantage.
It’s pretty basic, and topical AF.
Thoughts?
Im a sophomore atm and I wouldn't hate going to the TOC like most people BUT I want to be realistic. what do y'all think my chances are?--
Im from an underfunded public school in a state with like 3 tourneys a year but my team travels a lot for stuff-- my varsity record is 80%
we have only lost 2 neg rounds this year out of like 30ish rounds-- (The AFF kinda needs work lol)
I won grapevine JV in policy this year-- I break at all the tournaments I go to, Im going to UT, Newman, and Emory in the varsity division
I don't expect TOC this year but maybe next?? What are my chances at one bid this year?
So lets say a team in my district that we consonantly hit had their coach of speechdrop tell the debaters what to do, isn't that like super against the rules, along with this they debate on paper (my district is maj online), their coach also tracks cases via the speechdrop. What should I do? Or how should I like "attempt" to prevent this?
I have a tournament coming up and I want to prep a K that links via basically any impact and criticizes the use of apocalyptic rhetoric in policy debate over rational meaningful discourse. What are good sources for framework cards and in general theory that talks about the role of the judge and analyzes rhetoric within speech and debate?
ik func and textual but i swear i’ve heard “positional competition” before; does it even exist? what is or what was it?

Hey there! I'm a second year debater in the Kansas circuit prepping for a Ban IP CP I will be seeing at regionals in a few weeks. I was taught to answer CP's in the POST form (Perm, Offense, Solvency, Theory)
I have every single answer to the CP down to a tee, except for a perm. Does anybody think a perm is feasible here? Any advice would be great!
This might sound kinda dumb but I feel like it’s easy to flow other people’s speeches in round, but when it comes to flowing my own speeches, what am I supposed to do specifically? Like for my 2NC’s when it’s 70% analytics how do I pre flow that or get time in the debate to right it down on my flow?
Lot of affs in my circuit run obscure laws with no opposing literature to them because they haven't passed the introduction stage in congress. It makes research really difficult because of just how complex and obscure it is so no one talks about it. Any tips for how to prep against them/what to run??
Has anyone run a consult plan text on the aff?
Would that be topical? (T-Strengthen?) is this doable?
I love my consult CP on the negative, but I feel like I’m loosing it on the aff - can I?
Hi I'm prepping against a K aff, and found the universality K as a good choice. Opinions anyone? It's in the CCFMP from UMich Camp! Thanks!
so basically my partner has been super indecisive about what we’re gonna run and i keep saying e commerce e commerce e commerce and im in middle school so at mmsdl tourneys we run shopsafe and at toc we plan to run e commerce. what’s the difference??
Does anyone got hella recent courtclog non uq evidence? if so please post it down below, when im searching for courtclog non uq, im only getting immigration courts clogged, i need ipr related courts. thanks yall!
hey guys I'm from a small circuit and half of my team doesn't know how to use verbatim even to cut cards. could someone teach me some tricks on how to use things like the V-tub and quick cards? maybe even some custom macros?
Hi everyone, there's some K affs that have been popular in my area lately, and so I'm prepping for them. I've never debated K affs before but am familiar with some arguments against them. I'm just kinda confused how I should organize my 1NC. I have like a few questions
Thanks!!!
Can someone explain either the anthropocentism K or the cap K? I'm gonna try to run one of them at nat quals.
Planning on running wipeout at my first tournament tommorow. Does anyone have any tips or tricks on running it effectively? (or args that are good against it so I can prep those out)
Email chain is ass and doesn’t even work 90% of the time because school district email are cancer to deal with
Speechdrop is so much more convenient. It’s literally just a room code on a board and you get all of the evidence. It’s so much faster than email chain.
Kansas debaters can agree with me on this
I'm a jv debater in minnesota, and I was curious who's the best.
I'm in novice policy. Recently I was in a tournament where our opponents dropped our disads. In the negative block, my partner took care of on case and one of our das, and I took care of the other later in the 1NR. I mentioned that they conceded our disad, but continued explaining to the judges on why our disad outweighs.
The judges at the end just told us to tell them why our disad is important and why the AFF shouldn't drop the disad, and also do a little bit of impact calc on our two das, but I don't think I'll be able to do impact calc on court clog for the entirety of 5 minutes. What else should I say in the 1NR if our opponents conceded with our das? Thank you 🙏
Ok first off, I kinda suck against k affs but I’ve been trying to work on it. I have a good grasp on topicality and how framework debating works so I wanted to expand on my potential 2NR’s. First, as I understand it, a claim to a ballot turns the aff by deenergizing movements and a call for the ballot is bad. What would an ideal 2NR on that look like?
I heard that a lot of people can go for heg turning the k (particularly race k's). How does this work?
How do you against a green tech case since they’re trying to help climate change: anything we say is like we’re trying to say climate change doesn’t exist, we’re novice
In cite creator I have %last% %y%%linebreak%[%author%, %quals%, "%title%", %publication% (%date%), %url%, accessed %accessed%]
I also use docs instead of word because chromebook. I'm transitioning into policy so I'm trying to learn the format of everything especially cards relatively quickly, as our school's LD team taught none of that.
In EastMO can novices run counterplans? Because my vp said not to do it but we can’t see any other way to win a neg round. So are counterplans like banned or what? Thank you!
