There is this one video on YouTube that I can’t find idk if it’s just deleted or lost in conte farm slop but in the video (the plants and zombies make peace and join together nightcap encounters a random guy hijacking? Penny and he throws a attack and the guy catches it before lighting the place on fire and don’t ask but nightcap and solar flare have a child in the series but nightcap and solar flare go unconscious and another random guy come injects them with something and that apparently will bring them back after a few hours or minute once again I forgo) I wanna see if they continued it or not and just to see the video again.

I swear, no one talks about him as much as they should. The only thing people care about related to him is gloom walk but even then most people just look at gloom shrooms and don't care for garlic. Which is a shame because there is so much bs about garlic that just gets ignored.

First off, the ability to completely close off an entire lane from entry for the price of a SUNFLOWER is absolutely ludicrous. Not only does this mean that your sunflowers will never die for the whole level, he also makes the early game way more efficient by grouping up zombies into one lane allowing you to, say, kill 2 zombies with one squash instead of 2 separate ones. Sure, pvz is already an easy game, but garlic just makes it braindead easy, completely removing all challenge adventure 2 has to offer despite the RNG bs.

So, what about survival? The density in survival is really high, so maybe then garlic will get overwhelmed? Nope. Garlic has 400 health and basic zombie & variants do 20 per bite. That's NINE.TEEN. zombies he can divert before dying to the 20th. NINETEEN. ON A 50 SUN PLANT! And it's not like Garlic getting overwhelmed will ever happen either considering his recharge is SEVEN SECONDS.A defensive plant with a SEVEN SECOND recharge that can last forever without being replaced. And people say that he's mid?

Well, what about the zombies that supposedly counter him, like pole vaulters and zombonis? Simple: those zombies are very easily countered themselves. Pole vaulters can jump over him, but what's stopping you from just... Doubling up your garlics? Zombonis? Just bring spikerock. Even gargantuars aren't a threat since they usually aren't high in density in the first place outside of survival endless. Just 2 instas is all you need. Completely unlike in the sequel, Garlic has ZERO hard counters in PvZ1; nothing can stop him.

One of the biggest real complaints with Garlic that I've seen is that he doesn't really have many plants that synergize with him. And to that I say "So?" That being false aside, how exactly is having a low amount of synergies a weakness? Gloomwalk, Starwalk, and Spikewalk are among the best strategies in the game imo since they're so easy to set up thanks to Garlic making the early game 100% irrelevant; I don't see how that equals a justified B tier or D tier. If anything, it sounds more like nitpicking on a plant you don't like

So yeah, tbh, I think the Garlic slander is completely unjustified. Even in the sequel, where he got nerfed to the freaking ground, I still think he's just above the bottom 5 worst plants on the game. Even so, I'm still willing to hear what y'all think. If I'm missing something, tell me about it.
