Traditional painting. NO DIGITAL WORKS. All other links will be aced by our space lazers. Here at r/paintings is a subreddit dedicated to looking and reading about the well known artists who are working in paint. This is not the place to submit your latest work, go to r/painting or r/idrewapicture for that.

Painting shows the choice of Heracles as described by Socrates in Xenophon’s Memorabilia.
This is my favourite rendering of the event, id like to get a canvass but don’t know the name of this specific painting.
My grandma had this over her couch and my mom stored if for years. Now that they are both gone I want to rehang this pretty painting but I want to reframe.
Stark Davis is from the late 1800’s early 1900’s.
Its a sign original.
It’s probably not worth more than a $1000 but I don’t want to devalue it if I reframe.
Anyone know if it is taboo to reframe?
I just finished this painting, any thoughts? I’m 27 years old and I’ve never taken any kind of art class, which I deeply regret now. I’m hoping to get better and learn actual techniques. Any feedback is appreciated 🫶
After not painting for literally decades I decided to put paint to canvas again! Would love any comments or input! Does anyone like it? Should I paint more and see if there’s a “market” for these?? or stick to the day job?
acrylic on canvas, 30x40cm
Gonna add some more graffiti then some people in the foreground
I am wondering what this type of painting is called. Thank you.
Found this what appears to be original painting by Scott Listfield in an “emptied out” warehouse. It’s titled “At The Laundry Mat with Boba Fett.” It’s signed and dated on the wooden part on the canvas structure back from 2006. Thought it was pretty neat find and wanted to share, also open to any information more educated people could share as I know nothing about the art world or artists.
