I'm a release player who stopped playing a couple months before the release of sun and moon, when I got my 3ds. I started playing again recently and think the game is fun. So I wanted to see if there was a memphis community for PKMN GO, and surprise surprise. There is. Now I want to see who still plays.

I used to be in a WhatsApp group that got groups together to raid but I was working all the time and wasn’t able to attend much and ultimately got deleted. Now I’m unemployed and use “needing fresh air” as an excuse to get out and play Pokémon every day! I can solo 3 tiers but would love to be able to do more. Memorial park funeral home and cemetery is a great spot. Lots of poke stops and gyms. Lots of pokemon to catch. Poplar and 240 across from the Starbucks. Only open during the day. Also old main street downtown. If your driving it's hard to spin all the pokestops you will hit. Pretty much anywhere downtown is good.

Hey guys, got back into playing with friends this weekend and had a blast.

I know it defeats the purpose to be indoors and play, but given the warm weather, does anyone know of gyms (or stops) located near restaurants or bars? It'd be nice to play while enjoying a pint or meal in the air conditioning.

As an edit, in the midtown area would be nice.

What chat do you use and why? I've noticed that there seems to be three main groups (Discord, Facebook & WhatsApp) for one reason or another. I'd really like it if everyone just used one, but no one seems willing to ditch theirs and commit to another. I just was wondering if there were people out there to have a civil discussion about this with me.

I've read (and seen) that the Facebook group is the place to be, as it is more active than our fair subreddit here, but... I've tried to join at least 2 or 3 times now and no one will approve me. In fact, I think I've actually been denied approval to join at least twice. (The "Pending" button has reverted back to a "Join Group" button.)
 
I know a few people in the group, but I don't know any of the admins, can anyone here help?
 
I do read the group already, since I know it's public... but it's frustrating not being able to interact/comment at all.

I read somewhere that the Galloway Golf Course is a Kabuto nest, is that true? I don't have one yet. Where have yall caught Kabuto in Memphis?

My family / friends / wife have all slowly stopped playing POGO over the past few months and now I'm pretty much a solo player. I'm an active lvl 30 Valor and I'm looking for an organized group on my team to work together on gyms, future events, etc. with - particularly after the latest gym rebalancing. Now that prestiging gyms is such a PITA, I'd prefer to do it only when I know it will be beneficial to other team members. Also - if your group is spoofing / cheating / using 2nd accounts etc, that is your business but I'm not interested. I've kept my gameplay legit & want to keep it that way.

Please don't suggest the local Facebook page for Valor because I cut the cord on facebook years ago & I'm not going to reactivate for a game!

There is a Pikachu nest at Overton Park. There is a spawner in the area around Overton Bark. They spawn in around there as well as in the fields around there. We found at least 6 a piece.

K-12 Memphian here who comes back to visit occasionally, and now is one of those times...

I have tomorrow free to hit a park and hunt around. I've been in NOLA for a while, and we have a place about 30-45 min outside the city that I've gone to with and even without friends because it's such a ridiculous spawn point. We constantly have Staryu's, Slowpoke's, Magikarp's, Psyduck's, Poliwag's, the originals, etc. plus a rare spawn at least by the hour at that location... so much so that I've run out of 100 pokeballs in less than a half hour without leaving the same 1 km area.

So the question is... is there anything like that around the surrounding area? I'm staying out in Germantown atm, but I wouldn't mind going out to Southaven or Bartlett or something like that if there was something like that in the area.

I read that you guys have Jigglypuff, Staryu, Onix, Geodude, and Squirtle in some of the parks, but I've got all of those evolved fully already. I was also told by a helpful redditor in this sub that I'd be unlikely to catch enough Kabuto to get a Kabutops in Audobon Park.

TL;DR - Have tomorrow free... from the burbs... wanna get some sun and catch some Pokemon. Suggestions welcome.

Also, anyone who's ever caught a Lickitung or Porygon, even via egg, let me know where.

I can confirm that Shelby Farms has stopped being an ekans nest & has become a psyduck nest. I plan to check out some of the others tomorrow to verify the changes posted on the memphis pogo facebook.

Every time I drive through I catch 2 EBuzz without fail.

Omanyte nest found at Ellendale Park in Bartlett! Located off of St. Elmo near Oak Road. Confirmed as well with users on the Facebook group. Happy hunting!

I walked my ass off today and and used up nearly my entire supply of potions to take four gyms in east Memphis, near the Liberty Bowl. Someone from team Instinct had taken the one closest to my house, so I decided to swing back by on my way home and get it back. Meanwhile, I could see a battle happening at one of my gyms in the distance, so I figured worst case scenario someone was following me around taking down my level 2 gyms.

Seconds after that battle, a fight starts at the gym I'm sitting at, and clearly nobody had walked up. There also wasn't any way this guy had crossed the atleast half a mile between gyms in literal seconds. Plus, just from the three gyms I could see from where I was sitting he was putting a high level Dragonite in each one. Not impossible that someone would have three strong Draginites, but crossing the map that fast is suspicious.

Screenshots attached, just in case anyone else has seen this person and can corroborate anything weird happening. If the person in question happens to be reading this, I'd love to hear your side of the story because I'm willing to give you the benefit of the doubt and not report you for gps spoofing or whatever.
