This seed has a very easy and quick way to get to the 2nd asteroid, I'm talking in the first cycle, on top of that there's some good geo-activity which may make it a great choice, I wouldn't be posting it if it wasn't impressive!
If you want to see some of the geoactivity feel free to copy the seed in a sandbox world and reveal the two asteroids, but starting two colonies at once seems pretty fun already
Hey guys, Im new to ONI and I am not able to figure out plumbing. There is a cler path for water to reach the shower. What am I missing ?
I'm wanting to start geotune some volcanos. I can go the cowardly way, and do 4 geotuners and deal with magma instead of gas. That's easy. I want to go bold, and geotune 5 times and have gas. Cooling the resulting gas isn't all that hard -- just use a heat injector and transfer the heat somewhere useful, like the inside of a steam chamber. My problem is the insulated tiles. I've double-walled the magma chamber, but I'm not sure I trust the obsidian inner layer to survive rock gas without help. The math says I should be fine, the gas will be at about 2,500C while magma obsidian melts at 2,700C, but I don't trust that not to blow up eventually -- if only by having the outer insulated tiles melt a couple thousand cycles from now.
Now, it seems like an easy solution is just run some obsidian, non-insulated gas pipse through the obsidian and fill with hydrogen. Easy, but gas has a hidden conductivity bonus -- will the rock gas overpower the hydrogen? I don't know, and that worries me. Maybe supercoolant in conductive tiles? I don't know if that's a good idea. I could wait a while and get my insulation industry up and running, but that's a ways down the line still, and I'm not sure I want to deal with the injuries involved in trying to rebuild the obsidian tiles.
Anyone have any advice?
Was curious if any Mac players could give me an idea of what ONI’s performance was like on an m4 or m4 pro? Thinking about getting a mini for this and a few other games along with work stuff. TIA to one of the best Reddit communities out there!
You ever just get into a problem, and that problem seems to create 10 more problems and then you load up one day and you are starting to fix some problems and then a few more pop up and you just go, my brain hurts. This frosty planet pack is really hitting that "my brain hurts" feeling.
broke my desalinators trying to do a rush job on water to get my electrolyzes going bc my dupes are suffocating slowly. now i have to find a way to heat this brine as its sitting at -8 F
edit; took u/AmphibianPresent6713 suggestion, found some water to jump start spom to increase initial heat then ran pipes through spom until 30+ degrees (going to put a loop to make sure it dosent destroy salinators with low temp), were working out the kinks but we got a small spom going.
I would like to construct a gas pump that is very high on the map to suck up all of the hydrogen that floats up there from my electrolyzer and route it to my hydrogen generator. Obviously my dupes are working on this very slowly because they have to keep retreating to catch their breath. Oxygen masks would help (I don't have exo suits yet) but I can only place it horizontally, so obviously when a dupe ascends to work on this project they wouldn't pass the checkpoint.
Does anyone have a solution? I am probably just missing the obvious as I'm new to the game.
does anyone have a video to help me?
So uhm the most straightforward thing to do is plastic. They are probably the easiest to set up early game but they need snow wich there is little naturally and making it is annoying. Snow uses water, and you can also use the same for oil wich offers a higher conversion rate even with a petroelum refinery wich cuts off 50% a d doesn't require cold enviroment. But dreckos are still the cheapest since they use dirt.
Nos ethanol. Even tough seals give 100% of nectar to ethanol, doesn't really seem to be a good trade since matching a distillery is quite hard and all ises of ethanol use a lot of it. Seals a good for tallow, but ethanol is mostly a byproduct
Some advatages are automation and that they can be grown wild, but using snow is quite impractical most cases and the conversion rate isn't really enough for some cases, it doesn't feel like light is "making" rather than just a requirement. But I get that that's what you use if you are in that enviroment.
i feel like i Must be missing something... is there really no module for you to load liquid/gas onto a rocket to ship from one planetoid to another?
really not sure how im going to fix my water crisis on my polluted/uranium biome if i cant ship water directly as it has no geyser.
i guess i can get a rocket platform set up and send over a resource gathering rocket but ive never done a resource gathering mission and atm only have co2 engines. i should have a petroleum boiler soonish but i dont think itll be ready in time And its on the home asteroid.
lots of ice in the uranium but not sure how to efficiently melt it. what to do! any help appreciated
I made it very fast (new player but this was what I came up with. Currently the three produced a normal egg their first go, im guessing this will change as they all have a 25% or higher chance for glossy?
Basic question, can you combine the overflow rooms for multiple animals? Like if I simply make it half hydrogen on the top and half o2 on the bottom with one air tile on the bottom, it should logically be able to hold dreckos and hatches right?
I just bought the game today on steam, installed it and it was stuck, i searched olnine, deleted the documents folder, reinstallit, turning off windows defender, then for some reason it started, played it for a bit, turned it off and then when i tried to play it again it was stucknand nothing seems to fix it
I've set up a chlorine room to kill food poisoning in my poluted water and then filter it. I have a automation making sure liquids stay 200 seconds in each tank (see image 2). As you can see in image 3, the last tank contains only "clean" (still polluted but free of germs) water (in reality, the only tanks still containing germs are tanks 1 and 2, the 3 last ones are there for security). But for some unknown reason, when my water sieve receive the polluted water, germs magically appear out of nowhere in it (image 4). I checked the pipe and it doesn't have any either, the only places in this screenshot (image 1) where there's food poisoning are:
- The pipe pumping polluted water into the first tank
- The first and second tanks
- The pipes between reservoir 1 and 2
- And the water sieve for some reason
If you guys could help me that'll be great cause i checked multiple reddit posts and none of them help. My current theory is that the amout of germs in the last tank is so low compared to the amount of liquid in it that the game doesn't bother to show it (but that theory kinda falls apart when the pipes isn't showing any germs too) and when entering the sieves, it finaly appears.
If the answer is yes I want to put metal refinery coolant inside a reservoir and cool it my gold volcano steam box lol
right now i just have 2 AND gates feeding into 1 AND gate so only if all 4 inputs are green then it gives a green signal. Would it be more compact do use an automation ribbon ? (didn't use them anywhere yet) Because from what I saw, from a short tutorial, using an automation ribbon would use more space, no ?
Thanks ! :)
DUDE! my frost buns are coming out at 76 degrees!!??!?!?!? does anyone know why
EDIT: everything out of my grill comes out at 70+ Celsius. None of the ingredients are over 20 Celsius, the grill itself is under 20 Celsius, no part of my base or the dupes are over 30 Celsius, the only thing that is close to 60 Celsius is the food coming out of the grill, this is messing up my foodstorage and I’ve lost over 2million+ in KCALs of food
Please help
EDIT: with the your help I switched my radiant pipe from gold amalgam to steel, which helps it freeze better and now nothing is spoiling
I also added a sedimentary rock back tile to help the chill
Hello all - I am just starting to develop / excavate my oil biome (first time) and have managed to release zombie spores into my oil pool (my own negligence, I cannot blame the dopes). The biome is sealed off from the rest of the asteroid with a standard water lock and haz suits are required to enter.
Having checked wiki etc I see my dupes are safe in their haz suits. That said I am nervous when I start refining the oil that the spores might escape into my home proper. Should I be worried about this and take remedial action do you think? Im hoping the spores are effectively sealed off from the rest of the asteroid as it is set up and can be ignored.
Rags
Title. I have a save from right before one of my drecko laid an egg, so I have been reloading it and they havent given a glossy egg yet, which is strange bcz they have 25% chance to. Is it possible?
Klei, it’s time to give us an auto harvester! I want to have the end goal of putting all dupes on a part time job schedule!
