Classic Groves. Although I do think that the movie portrayed him as somewhat likable and charismatic whereas he was a complete ass in real life.
One of the best things there is on YT about the movie is the unofficial expanded score that has over 20 tracks that are not part of the official playlist of the Movie OST, but do you think we could see in the future an official expanded version of the official OST with those missing tracks?
For instance, Interstellar 3/4 years ago had something similar, they officially released many musics from the movie that were not part of the official ost from Zimmer.
Asking this because I'm a big fan of soundtracks and I'd love to get on my hands a possible limited edition collector's item
Oppie's parents where german and his doctorate thesis was written in german. Does anyone know if the ever communicated in german irl and they just changed that for the movie? If they only ever communicated in english irl, does anyone know why?
Title
I didn’t see it when it came out but a work colleague who did; my first question to him was “did they show the bombing?” He said no and I was disappointed. I deliberated on if I would even watch.
Well I watched it and I think they made the right move not showing the bombing but alluding to it, speaking about it and portraying the aftermath; I think it’s great as is.

Some may disagree but I think Oppenheimer truly is Nolan’s strongest film. Between the cast, performances, cinematography, editing, and music, the movie just feels perfect. I feel like there is so much to unpack from the story and characters that I know I’ll be watching it regularly for years to come.
Just like the first viewing, the ending left me with a haunting feeling. Even though we’re far from nuclear war compared to the Cold War, just knowing it could technically still happen merely due to the existence of nuclear weapons is downright chilling. I can’t imagine the conflict and guilt Oppie felt in his final days.
Physicists race to the bomb.
Take a minute and appreciate how they have shown fussion results with that old equipment on screen to audiance.
‘Now I Am Become Death, the Destroyer of Worlds.’
It’s been nearly 6 months since the last time I’ve watched the movie. I finally rewatched it and the end never gets any better. I can never sit through that scene without getting shivers down my spine and my skin crawling. I feel scared every time I watch the ending.
It’s just magnificent. The scenes, the script, all of it. The film. The slow rise in the increase of volume of Destroyer of Worlds, the pictures of earth burning. I’ve watched this movie 6 or 7 times now, and it’s the same feeling every time. I know it’s coming. But it’s just the same.
I have never watched such a movie that could bring emotions out like that of Oppenheimer. Christopher Nolan is a genius. A true one of a kind director. And I hope to continue hearing soundtracks made by Ludwig.
Sorry for the glaze. It’s just amazing what this movie can do. Even more than a year later.
Either way, I love this track and it's several renditions throughout the film. Talk about continuity
I’ve never posted on Reddit so this is a little scary, but anyone else leave this movie every single time feeling just in awe? I’ve watched it now several times and it continues to leave me feeling like 👤 in such a sad but beautiful way. I can’t even describe it. During the final scene when oppy receives his award, there is something so gut wrenching and every time I watch it, I come this close to crying but simply can’t because it’s so … heavy?? Like one of those moments where you can’t even cry it’s just like wow. Combined with Einsteins commentary I just feel so sad and haunted but amazed at the films beauty. Not to mention the soundtrack speaks to me more than any other soundtrack ever, and im a film score nerd. I just really wanted to talk about this and how the movie makes me feel so emotionally heavy, but not necessarily in an all bad way. In a complex beautiful way.
Hey guys, so I'm finally sharing this compilation of soundtracks Ludwig made for the movie. The reason behind this project is actually uncanny has hell but I loved doing this. Basically this is mashup of soundtracks I considered the most melodic and melancolic that for me, can be interpretated in a very emotional and 'sad' way. I invite you all to listen to it for 25 minutes. I believe you will understand what I mean by the title. Of course, all credits do the amazing Ludwig Göransson, the composer behind this masterpiece of a soundtrack.
Let me k low what you think!
Ludwig’s score for this movie is easily my favourite soundtrack from last year. Started making this piece after watching the movie, but just got around to finishing it. Let me know what you think :)

There was this scene where CIllian Murphy walks in the streets of Los Alamos with dust falling over. Are there any high quality images of that?
