Those entering into office: politicians, military officers and soldiers, and police officers all swear to honor an oath. While this oath may differ from office to office they all carry the same message. To those who undergo such an oath know that we, the People, will hold you to your word.

OathWatchers promotes civil discourse and civic responsibility through the observation of our public servants. It is believed that the fostering of courteous, civil behavior; responsible citizen journalism and activism; and non-violent civil disobedience - where appropriate - are the correct ways to effect change.

Authoritarianism

Hi! I am just wondering what the oathwatchers’s view is on authoritarianism. Very Respectfully

An idea to reduce police abuse. Xposted /r/Bad_Cop_No_Donut, /r/AmIFreeToGo, /r/OathWatchers, /r/restorethefourth,/r/Assert_Your_Rights, /r/copwatch, /r/evolutionReddit, /r/Libertarian, /r/LibertarianLeft

Hello fellow redditors.

I have an idea that would help reduce cop violence. My problem is that NO ONE will even look at it, let along give feedback. All the while complaining about police abuse.

The basic idea is an amendment to state constitutions that would make someone found guilty of abuse ineligible to be a police officer. It is still in the early stages and the wording is specific to Colorado.

Would you please have a look and give some feedback?

p.s.

Yes I know I posted it everywhere. I hope I can be forgiven.
