What is a Nickelodeon?

Well besides the network powered by child souls, Nickelodeons were the first iterations of movie theaters. They would play programs of short silent films constantly throughout the day, often providing music and narration for them. They only cost 5 cents and you could stay as long as you wanted.

Here's some more info.

This Day in Buster…June 13, 1921 Josephine Van De Grift’s review of “Hard Luck” is an interesting one - she liked it so much she suggested people sneak past the door keeper to get in as “it’ll chirk you up in these parlous times.”

This Day in Buster…May 24, 1921 The Capital Times reports on “The Saphead” stating that Winchell Smith “detected under the uproarious effects achieved by Mr. Keaton a quiet subtlety of method that convinced him the slapstick actor would be a ‘find’ in the more human field of straight comedy."
