This is a subreddit for friends of Israel and those with thought-provoking questions or insights. It is not a place for trolls or circlejerks, and it is not moderated in the same manner as r/Israel. We won't ban you here just because we don't happen to be to the left of Lenin. Welcome.

If this subreddit is dead, go to /r/Israel2 or /r/yisrael. Or just post. On the internet, reheating something repeatedly doesn't dry it out.

WHAT DO ISRAELIS THINK OF WINONA RYDER?

Easy contender for one of the most beautiful celebrities of the 90s (and still is quite lovely today!) and an outstanding actress. I just learned recently she identifies as Jewish and has ancestry from Russia through her father's side (which is the line with assumed to have Ashkenazi blood). Most of her paternal family was killed in Concentration camps during the War and is almost extinct.

I am curious what Israelis overall thoughts about her?

So we already have a handful of people.

Those of you who are looking, if you want to help out, comment below. I'll be looking for mods who actually know how to do this, because I don't. This is long overdue, and this time, we need to have a bit of staying power. Other pro-Israel subreddits didn't last. I'd like this one to be different. I'll be checking comment histories going back a ways to keep nuts from becoming mods as happened in /r/Israel, so if you're a nut or a troll or one of the anti-Zionist shitposters who has the run of the house over there now, you need not apply. Once the subreddit gets active enough, we'll try to hold elections for new moderators, but if we don't get enough people, it'll never happen. If you know pro-Israel redditors who have been banned from r/Israel or who have simply become discouraged, send them here.

Above all, this is a place for intelligent debate on the merits of issues and for mutual support. Let's help each other out. This could be something good, but again, I can't do it alone. Subscribe and nominate moderators. Self-nominate if you wish. I don't look down on those who rise to the occasion.
