Location: Various businesses throughout New Ziki City (Please do not upload any bases! The city will overwrite it so no one will see it.)

Description: Market Days are an economically-focused event. The goal is to have multiple player-owned HubCoin (or barter) businesses set up for business on a single day. The benefits of this are twofold:

• For Shoppers: By having multiple vendors online at the same time, you can purchase products without needing to arrange meet-ups like you normally would. Everyone is already in the same location, making shopping far more convenient. Vendors are also encouraged to offer special discounts during Market Days, though not all shops will necessarily participate.

• *For Vendors: By having interlopers in the city ready to shop, vendors can benefit from something nearly unheard-of in the simulation: foot traffic. Instead of needing to advertise, you can just announce that your shop is open for business and reasonably expect people to come by and shop. Offering a discount will increase the draw. Hey guys! I play on Xbox a lot I’ve played through the main quest line and now I’m finally getting settled in on a new base! I’ve discovered a paradise planet with no storms or sentinels and plentiful in resources. My problem with the game is that I don’t have any friends! I get bored and I’ve made a cantina-ish style base with a nip-nip grow facility in prefabs. I make my bases for other players to also enjoy. My last base was a sub orbital cantina but got tired of falling to my demise. This new one is planted firmly to the ground and though it is small and it will be expanded. I’ve got 5 or 6 landing pads and more to come so please let me know if you guys would like to have party here! I’m on Xbox and I’ll post my friend code in my bio in the morning!

Criteria

Interlopers will be asked to vote based primarily on the criteria of your costume itself; that is, if someone takes a not-so-great picture but you think their costume is the best you've seen, you should vote for them. In practice, though, framing will probably have some effect on how people vote. So think carefully about which image you want to submit! Consider how it presents your costume and fits into the character you're trying to be.

Submission

Post your submission in the Costume Contest 2024 thread in our Discord, found in the #halloween-festivities channel. Only one submission (so only one image) per player. Please do not submit multiple photos; if you do, you will be asked to select one as your entry.

Guidelines

• Your costume may include: your character, your multitool, your starship, and any companions.
• Your costume may not include: any base or base parts custom-built for the purposes of a costume. This means you may take your photos at Halloween bases (or any other bases), so long as they're open to the public. But you may not build a custom base just for the purposes of entering the contest.
• Aside from the prohibition on custom bases / base parts, you can take your screenshot anywhere you like.

Voting

Voting will open during the Costume Party on October 27th! Note that you do not need to attend this event to vote nor to submit an entry, it's purely a social event. But you should all come out anyway!

• Oct 18th: Overgrown Isle narrative opens! Think player-created Expedition - and in this case, I'm "player"! More info coming soon. We also have a Star League Death Race scheduled for tomorrow, hosted by Time's Alchemist!

• Oct 19th: We will be decorating #new-ziki-city-🌆 for Halloween, as well as having an Afterparty! Note that the NZC Art Museum Day will be part of the Halloween decorating event, so it's not cancelled, but also not a standalone event this month.

• Oct 20th: lofnloaded will be hosting a Halloween BBQ for Permadeath players! This will be hosted in Eissentam - not sure specifically what system but I'm sure Lof will provide details as the event approaches. A bit later in the day, the #totokenn-city-🏙 Trick-or-Treat Event will begin, hosted by u/Zaowly! That means everyone should have their costumes ready by this weekend!
