Hello does anybody know where i can find a really cool spot so i can just sit and fish without having any trouble around me?
Hi! I’m from an area near Montgomery, but not in Montgomery by any means. I may have a possible job opportunity that I’m really excited about in Eastdale Mall, but my family has been really adamant about my safety being at severe risk while others say that it’s a perfectly fine place to work, as they’ve worked there without any issue so far. Any input from people who know anything would be lovely, and I’m so sorry if this isn’t the right post for this subreddit 😭
new to the area and looking to spend some weekday evenings enjoying a couple drinks now that it’s dark by 5:00pm 😅
Are there any issues with Bristol downs apartments? I’m looking to move to mgm soon and need to know?

last month I was briefly lost driving to see family in montgomery and so saw this sign that made me cry. I’ve been having a hard time lately and it was something about fighting battles and losing but making it to another day- I was wondering if anyone had a picture of the sign or the actual quote. I think the sign was near ASU
Don’t park in the marked off space between handicapped spots!!! That is for people to load and unload their wheelchairs, walkers, etc!! When you park like this, you are risking someone’s ability to be able to get themselves or a disabled child in and out of a the car.
I have many bottles and wonder if there's any place these can be recycled.
I don’t know of many if you folks on here have ever heard of or been to this recent iteration of “Yellowhammer Bistro”, but I just learned it is now permanently closed. This location was over behind El Taco Shop on Taylor Road.
I work in the Wetumpka area so I hope to stay close to it or in it.

We are planning to temporarily move to Montgomery for my husband's job. He's going to be building the Meta Data Center.
I've been searching through this reddit to see what neighborhoods we should move to...seems like Prattville is a big suggestion. I had a few other questions and I'm hoping to get some insight. Thank you in advance! :)
I'm sorry for so many questions, but I've always trusted Reddit in every move! Your help is much appreciated! :)
Edit: No budget for rent. We are a family of three so we don’t need a huge space, but we’re also happy to pay for one. We want to be comfortable and safe. Our son is still a baby so schools aren’t a concern yet. If commute and budget weren’t factors, what neighborhood would you suggest? Also, what areas should we avoid?
Anybody know any Halloween events going on in Montgomery or prattville this week? I’d like to be able to have a good time and have a drink if possible.
Yesterday while traveling from AL to FL, I got off the interstate and stopped for gas. When I got to the gas station, I noticed a very big building across the street that looked abandoned with the word Candlelight on it, then noticed another abandoned bullding next to it. I’m always very intrigued by abandoned buildings, especially when they’re big. I decided to pull in to the Candlelight parking lot to take a closer look, then quickly realized it was an abandoned motel where squatters were currently living. Didn’t spend much time over there as to not disturb the squatters. After some quick googling, I found both former businesses & it even says America’s Best Value Inn is still open for business while it is clearly not.
Anyway, I’m making this post because I’m curious if there’s any sort of interesting story to these buildings/businesses aside from “they went out of business & squatters moved in”.
My husband and I went to brunch there two Sundays ago and everything seemed normal. We tried to go today and there’s a paper sign that says, “Permanently closed, we will miss y’all.” We asked the owner of the bookstore down the street if she knew what happened and she said she’s just as surprised as we are. Anybody know what happened?
MONTGOMERY, Ala. (WSFA) - Ebony Evans is running for the District 7 seat on the Montgomery County Board of Education [as a write-in candidate] this November 5. She’s challenging incumbent board member Arica Watkins-Smith and is supported by the new political action committee Kids Come First.
Has anyone here went there? I'm considering going there for business and want to know others experience and if you guy were able to find employment with your degrees and what the classes were like
Hi everyone,
I am a scientist from Australia + I am looking for participants, around the world, for some new research I am doing.
Are you the parent/caregiver of a child aged 2-12 years? If so, we kindly invite you to participate in our short online survey about sharks. We are interested in what children know about sharks, so this survey involves you completing a couple of questions about sharks, and then asking your children some questions about sharks. You will then be asked to write what your children say or what they do (e.g. if they use hand gestures).
LINK TO SURVEY:
https://research.unisa.edu.au/redcap/surveys/?s=XYPHMNMKFEJR7H4P
Please also feel free to send to any one you know who might be interested.
The survey takes approximately ten minutes per child to complete, if you have more than one child aged between 2-12 they can all participate.
This study has received ethics approval from the University of South Australia (#206267). If you have any queries, please contact the lead researcher: Brianna.lebusque@unisa.edu.au
Hey all I’m moving to Montgomery this weekend! I was curious if anyone could give me insight on the area on these subjects. (yeah I know it’s the same song and dance every other day with this same question - but I want to get more specific.)
Best places to get produce and meats at a fair price. (I do like Publix but would rather find an alternative to turn it into an “ outing” for myself.)
Pet friendly places? Dog parks, breweries etc.
Game stores aside from GameStop maybe a place that does weekly functions or events? (
for the record I’m a 28yr old guy.)
Edit: I also like fishing and hiking, and disc golf! Drop some locations on some interesting spots!
Thanks everyone!
I'm currently thinking about relocating to Montgomery to be closer to family and for the lower costs of living. I currently live in the DC/Baltimore area. My currently job is willing to let me be fully remote, if I do indeed decide to move out of state.
I really do not like living in suburbs, and would prefer to live in an area that I could walk to cafes, restaurants, breweries, events, etc. I'm also a single woman, early 40's, no kids so I'm not really looking for neighborhoods with a family feel. I don't want to be dodging bullets, but normal city stuff doesn't really bother me as I am familiar with DC and Baltimore. Also if I don't move to Montgomery, I will be moving to one of those cities.
I was looking at some apartments online and will be visiting some next month. I believe most are close to the Riverfront area, but was wondering if there were other areas I could add to my search. Also, if I do move to Montgomery, I will most likely be looking to buy a small house or condo after a year with a budget under $200,000 since it is doable down there. And if I could find a neighborhood that fits my wants, that also has housing inventory in my price range that wouldl be fantastic and make up for having to deal with the hot weather down there.
