Please what external options would you recommend to allow people share images on my sub?

Deliberately restricted images from being shared on my sub (to help fight spam/abuse)

What other external options can people use to share their images instead?

Can someone explain how to stop scheduled posts?

I hope there’s an option on mobile. I’m tired of deleting them manually every time.

500 subscribers lost in 1 day. Meanwhile, the "Members Growth" stat shows a net gain of 43 for that day.

Nothing out of the ordinary happened in the sub before this sudden drop of 500 subscribers (from 235.77k on 02/15 to 235.25k on 02/16). Could this be the admins deleting a bunch of inactive accounts all at once? Is there any way to know what caused this sudden drop?

Is cross-posting evil or am I missing something?

Hi there

Trying to grow my sub r/growyourdream day by day

As suggested in some growth guides here on Reddit, I reached out to some subs who I felt won't mind cross-posts of inspiration, growth mindset tips, lessons learned, new projects, seeking advice, etc

All the mods who responded say a resounding NO. A few "reminded" me that cross-posting is self-promotion

Please can anyone help? What am I missing?

Can anyone recommend subs that are friendly towards cross-posting?

Thanks in advance!

I have a really niche subreddit

About anime and manga addiction. Isn’t a exactly a common topic. Any ideas how to promote it? I already tried subreddits like r/promoteareddit or r/newreddits

Buying a reddit ad to help promote subreddit

Hi all! I was tossing around the idea of buying an ad to show on a few of the larger related subreddits that don't allow crossposting or regular promoting to help people find my new sub r/girlgeeks

Has anyone had any luck with this? Should I save my money?

How do I promote my community on other related subreddits?

Hi everyone, I'm new to Reddit and I'm planning to grow a wellness community based on our feel-good content such as memes that are related to all.

For now, I'm actively crossposting my content and engaging with other subreddits to improve my Karma points. Recently, I've been able to crosspost my content to the biggest meme community on Reddit known as r/memes .

However, I noticed that my community growth for the past 1 and a half months has been quite slow. This is the recent why I am looking for collaborations to grow a community with like-minded individuals.

Hopefully, you guys can share tips on how to initiate collaborations and help grow my community with genuine people who believe in our motto.

Feel free to check out my subreddit to see what I am trying to build:

Has anyone had issues with ban evaders? Looking for guidance.

There are at least four redditors in the past year I suspect of being the same person, but it hasn’t set off reddit’s ban-evasion detection.

It’s a hunch and my evidence is only circumstantial:

  • Each of these accounts behaves the same way (uncivil with orher redditors), is very vocal and antagonistic about a few less-common opinions on our subreddit, are the only accounts using a certain phrase/term, and (except for the most recent one) has been banned for repeatedly violating the same couple of rules (which are a less common reason to be banned from our subreddit).
  • There’s also zero overlap between these accounts participating on our subreddit. One gets banned. The next one shows up, and the account was created after the last one was banned.
  • We basically always have one—but only one—redditor at a time who behaves the way these four accounts have behaved. Sometimes we have someone share the less common opinion, but that redditor won’t be an rude to everyone about it like these four accounts.

I’m 100% confident it’s all the same person who’s just really good at ban evasion, but I can’t be 100% certain because I have no hard proof.

Has anyone run into something like this before? Is there a way to test my suspicion? How should I handle something like this?

Prevent new/unsubscribed users from voting

Hi, everyone.

This is my first time moderating, so please bear with me. I attempted to find the answer to this question on my own but couldn't come up with a solution.

Is there a way to prevent new accounts or unsubscribed users from voting in the subreddit I moderate? We run a book club and conduct monthly voting to select our readings. I want to prevent unsubscribed users or alt/fake accounts from affecting our results. Is there anything that can be done in this regard?

Also, is it possible to prevent accounts that are less than 3 days old from joining our subreddit?

Thanks!

Is there any log that lets you see which mod changed your subs logo?

Someone changed our logo and we don't know who, is there a log somewhere?

What skills and tools do you/you all believe are needed to moderate a huge 1million+ subreddit (mainly technical skills question, but I welcome sift skills navigation answers IMMENSELY)?

What is considered participating in a subreddit in regards to ban evasion?

More specifically, is voting in a poll within a sub you were banned from with another account considered ban evasion?

I can't seem to find a definitive answer to this... and can't post this for an admin to answer in the modsupport sub. (admins presumably appear to be the only ones with a definitive answer)

Is this situation considered ban evasion considering that 1) commenting or posting in a sub with an alt account has always been what's referenced as it pertains to ban evasion, 2) the new ban evasion detection tool only filters/detects comments and posts, and 3) users still have the ability to vote in polls within the sub they were banned from even with the same account in which they were banned {but of course commenting and posting isn't possible}.

In other words, I assume it's safe to assume that when it comes to ban evasion, participating in a subreddit (as explained here) is specifically pertaining to commenting and posting, and not something such as voting in a poll with an alt account? Is voting in a poll considered 'participating' in this instance?

I recently came across this scenario via a user in another sub and was told that I was basically undeniably wrong with this assumption/analysis, so I wanted to get a definitive answer to this, if possible. Thanks in advance. ✌️

Regional Subreddit - Creating a wiki entry detailing where to get assistance and support

I'm a mod of a regional Australian sub. We're currently putting together a wiki entry detailing where residents can access services and support. It's a huge 10 page draft atm because I think I've included too much info.

With this in mind, I'm looking for advice about this from other regional mods, and examples of regional subs with wikis that you like. Any words of wisdom? Thanks ❤️

May I ask how can I interview moderators for an academic project?

I am a graduate student currently writing my dissertation, the project with a proven ethical application is about the impact of a human-machine moderation system on human mods, I plan to conduct an email or chat interview via Reddit with an Amazon gift card as compensation. I have sent some modmails today but haven't received a reply. So, how can I do the recruitment job more effectively, and are moderators willing to do this interview without personal privacy involved?

on lifting off the web and keeping a subreddit post from getting further indexed and appearing in search engines

1 help: someone who could help navigate with me the different possible routes on how to do that, pls dm me.

2 goal: remove a post but the OP has been deleted or may have been shadowbanned, suspended. i, as a mod, keep on removing/disapproving the post but it keeps getting re-approved with the green marks???

3 rationale: potential libel case.

Can somebody help me obtain subreddit?

So theirs this subreddit r/TheUpsideDowns. The only mod appears to not use reddit anymore which means their is no moderation, which is fine because it's a small subreddit. Now I am interested in moding that sub so I send a message to the owner but I get no response because he doesn't use reddit anymore. But when I go to r/redditrequest I can't post anything because my account isn't 90 days old yet, I have the 500 karma needed but It's not old enough. So I need somebody who can help me, send me a dm if your willing to help.

How can we check a redditor's history from July

When considering a ban appeal or vetting mod candidates in our subs, I like to use tools like redditinvestigator to go through their history to give me some idea of what they are really like. These tools do a lot of API calls so cannot be ported.

What other tools are out there to do due diligence?
