My car just started going absolutely insane while I was driving throwing messages i didn’t know existed. I pulled over in an autozone lot to get the batt and alternator tested and they’re completely fine
The car won’t start, come out of neutral, activate parking brake, has no tics, srs is going off, etc
Anyone know what this could be?
I think I transferred the dye from my black wool coat onto my leather seats 😭. Any recommendations on how to safely get the stain out ?
I am new to the sub, but have been following for quite some time. I have loved MB cars since I was a kid and for many many years have dreamed of someday being able to own a black W140 S-class.
Well, I just so happened to find an absolutely pristine ‘97 S320 with only 70k miles that inside and out literally looks like it just drove off the showroom floor yesterday (pictured). It was a one owner since new and was kept in a garage its entire life and well serviced. I am drooling over this car, but my wife is balking at 1. Buying a 28-year old car, and concerned about costs/repairs etc. and 2. Our family just not absolutely needing a 3rd vehicle right now (our other cars are an MDX and Lexus LX470). I never thought I would even be able to find my dream car in this type of condition, and it feels like a unicorn/once in a lifetime type opportunity, but I can’t quite get her over the line.
Does anyone in this sub have experiences with these vehicles, particularly the IL6 variant in terms of expected costs, maintenance and what to expect? I would think given the longevity of the engine platform across multiple models, it would be fairly easy to work on and find parts… but is that the case? Or am I looking at a big risk due to the age and part’s availability? Any thoughts or experiences from the members here would be greatly appreciated!
Thanks!
Hi! I have a 2019 RAV4 and only $1,500 left on the car loan. I think it’s time for an upgrade, especially since I’m making more money now. Do you think I should use the funds from paying off my RAV4 as a down payment to get a Benz SUV or a mini SUV? I’m not interested in an AMG, though. Is a certified pre-owned Benz worth it? Would you suggest that I just buy a new one? My new annual salary is $100,000.
It finally drives like a Mercedes! Big improvement in ride comfort and noise. I did lose a decent amount of steering response due to the softer sidewalls, but I am very satisfied with that tradeoff.
I had the OEM Conti ProContact GX SSR. I chose the Tour 54 based on TireRacks review and the fact it’s a newly developed tire.
One,two,three,four,five,six!!!!
Hi everyone
I’m currently leasing a CLA 250e Shooting Brake (Business Line, default options) for around €82/month. I now have the opportunity to exchange it for an EQA 250+ (AMG Line, +- full option) for around €113/month. Both leases include insurance, fuel/charging and all the rest.
Would you make the switch if you were in my position? What are the pros and cons?
Colours (not THAT important): CLA mountain grey, EQA digital white/patagonia red
Curious to hear your insights! Hope you can help…
My new S Class screen is making a coil whine noise like an old laptop fan and I can’t stand it.
Was looking for another Benz and got an offer from previous dealer for gle.
He was offering out the door for 22% off from Msrp.
It has no mark ups. Just added option prices.
He also offered extended 10 year warranty for $4.1k and 5 years of service for $3.2k
What do you guys think on this offer?
Hey guys. I have a 2021 GLC with an impending lease maturity date. I've never leased with Mercedes before, and I'm wondering how strict/ expensive they are with damage. My car is in mostly great condition, but there is a small chip in the windshield smaller than a fingertip. It kind of looks like a droplet of water. Should I have this fixed before turning it in or is the windshield included in the "credit card test" for damage?
Alright. I have a 09 AMG E63 I have recently discovered a small coolant leak. Upon some investigation I found a old bulletin about stretching headstuds. I have called and called many shops all to just be ran around not a soul even dealers will not touch this. I have decided I am going to take this on myself and am having troubles finding much if any information on this repair. Has anyone taken on such a repair here? I'm looking for some guidance on tools needed, time, and anything else that can help this process along.
We’re deciding between a CPO 2021/22 GLE 350 (~25-30K miles) and a used non-luxury higher end trim SUV. Budget is $40K-$45K, and we plan to sell in 3 years (visa situation).
GLE 350 checks almost all our boxes - great interiors, panoramic moonroof, heated seats but it’s been a little hard to find one with Driver Assistance Package, and we really want adaptive cruise control as we’re planning a lot of road trips.
With little warranty left, we’re considering an extended warranty. What kind of maintenance or repair costs should we expect? Is the GLE a bad choice for resale in 3 years?
We’re also looking at slightly used Mazda CX-90 or VW Atlas (open to other suggestions too).
We’ve always wanted to try a luxury car, but we’re still debating if it’s worth it. What do you think?
Would love to hear your thoughts—especially from GLE owners!
Thanks!
Hi. I am having a problem with my 2015 Mercedes C300 W205. A few days ago, I've noticed that it stalled on startupz twice happened twice. Another, most likely related, issue is that it often does not want to accelerate, the RPM won't exceed 2000 and it takes 15s to reach 40mph. I also noticed small sporadic jerks while driving. This only happens sometimes and when I turn the engine off and on, it usually comes back to normal. No lights or issues showing on the dashboard.
I checked the car with a scanner and it it throwing these errors:
P033900 - Position sensor 1 for the crankshaft has a sporadic malfunction.
P033904 - Position sensor 1 for the crankshaft has a sporadic malfunction. There is an internal fault.
P06DA00 - The actuation of the valve of the oil pump in the combustion engine has an electrical fault or open circuit.
Could this be the crankshaft position sensor?
If so, am I fine with an aftermarket sensor or should I do with OEM/Genuine? Does it make a difference with these sensors? I need to fix it asap so I would prefer to get an aftermarket from Amazon.
Additionally, there's the oil pump error but I'll address this later, unless it's an easy fix while replacing the CPS
I know, they're 20+ years old now, super unrefined, etc. But everything I've researched says they're probably the most reliable G wagon (at least sold in the states). How reliable are they? How user friendly are they to work on? Any advice on the would be greatly appreciated.
My cabin air sensor started buzzing, i cleaned it from the dust but it still kept buzzing. Now im waiting for a replacement piece. My question is what would happen if i leave it unplugged so it doesn’t drive me nuts until my part comes.
On my 2017 e43 I cannot use the original navi when carplay is enabled. Is there a way to fix this ?
2023 EQB 350 in my dream color 😍
This vehicle is amazing! It’s fast, luxurious, and obviously ROSE GOLD!
I loaned my car to my old man yesterday and when i went for a drive at first the system didnt connect to my phone (aftermarket bluetooth module, normally works perfectly fine). After turning the car off and on again I was able to play my music but with little to no bass coming from the subwoofer. I tested the cds in the car and they also produced no bass. Any way to check if the sound system failed?
Looks pretty good from about 10 feet away. Finally got warm enough to wash it from the dirty ass snow melting on top of it (didn't drive it in the snow or on salty roads). I've been trying to bring it back up slowly over the last couple of years. It's definitely been a lesson in patience, and a test of how much money I'm willing to spend.
i just recently bought a 2000 clk320 mercedes but the driver side tail light is broken and that one seems to be hard to get but i can find a 2000 e320 driver tail light , would that fit my car? or are they not compatible
Check engine light diagnosed as maf sensor malfunction. It is the om642 engine with the sensors integrated with the intake (stupid). Car jerked when accelerating but it would only happen every few months. Now its daily occurrence and on lower rpms which forces me to attack the problem. New sensor from merc is 1500 euros, aftermarkets are 300-400 but probably chinese, vemo and others, used part is 350. Do i buy after market or do i overpay for the used one? Also, can i just buy one bank and install it? Sensor itself is melted into the plastic so just the sensor is not possible. Any input is appreciated
Hello w205 enthusiasts,
does anybody know how to unpin the black cable from this door connector so I can pull the long pink fuse?
