i’m really super behind in math 141 and i was wondering if anyone has recommendations as to how to catch up - i’ve found that i have trouble following trudeau’s lectures (in person and on youtube) but i worry about how i will catch up in time for the midterm… any advice?
I am studying for the midterm. Does anyone have tips?
Hey does someone have a link to the groupchat for nicolas ajzenman's class? Thanks!
As the title how would you guys deal with short attention span.
I feel like that I just can’t pay attention on any lectures and videos, I can get carry away by the simplest thought, like right now I am supposed to watch my chem 120 videos, but I’m here typing Reddit posts.
While flling the declaration commitment and authorisation form for caq renewal, I mistakenly put my hometown name at place where declaration is signed, where's I have to put montreal Canada. I have already submitted the documents on Arima portal. What should I do now? Should I call the support team to inform them the error or wait for their decision? Please advise, I am really tense
Hii, so I graduate this semester, and I know nothing about booking the appointments for photographs, renting the regalia, getting the tickets,.. etc. can someone help me please?
I have had the most horrible neck/shoulder pain for the past couple of days and I can barely sleep or do anything at this point. Does anyone know where I could go for this type of problem? I have no idea where to go as it’s my first year here and I’ve never been to the hospital or a doctor here.
Is anybody willing to help a struggling non-STEM (psych) student pass this class😭😭 I am really struggling rn but I NEED to pass and do well, as it’s a prerequisite for a bio class I want. The midterm is fast approaching and I am screwed😣 Send me a dm if you’re willing to help / tutor in any way possible way, it will be very much appreciated🙏🏻
Hi! I'm a first year and trying to figure out whether or not I want to do a liberal or major program. For reference, I'm planning on doing a minor, and also going to grad school after. Are there specific advantages/disadvantages to either? THX
I heard the uprint at burnside is free of charge. How do you do it?
Hi, I’m planning on taking SOCI 333 (Social Stratification) in the summer. Has anyone taken it? If yes, could you give some info on how the course structure and exams are like? What’s the level of difficulty? Would it be doable with a second class at the same time? For context, I’m in psych but there are basically no PSYC classes offered in the summer, so this is the only class I could take that would count towards my major. Thanks in advance!
Hello,
My roommate and I are moving one street away and mainly need help moving bedframes and mattresses up four floors, with some extra smaller furniture. Does anyone know an affordable moving company or people willing to help move some heavy stuff in May? We live very close to McGill's downtown campus.
As an international student, I was literally about to study in the UK and have a lot of friends who study there, but why are there so many British people at McGill? I mean sure McGill is obviously a great university, but there are so many other similar-tier, just as good universities in the UK. Maybe it's a "study abroad" thing - but then why not the US? There are more options there, why come so far and to one of the coldest cities in the world?...also compared to other Canadian universities McGill seems to have way more British people and I'm just wondering why 😅
just looking to connect w folks !! this application process is so nerve wracking so id love to meet other ppl going thru it haha
I am applying and since i am from a cegep, the portal says that my transcript will be obtain from the MELS. So do I need to send any documents at all? It's been more than a week and it still hasn't updated yet.
Hi,
Does anyone know when would be MUAR 201 final exam date? I couldn’t find it in the tentative final exam schedule. Wondering if the professor has ever mentioned it in class and I missed to catch that.
Hello!
I'm Adeline, and I am currently working on a story for CKUT about the lack of availability and resources with Student Health Services. After hearing from peers about the struggles of trying to get an appointment or find health resources at McGill, we decided to reach out to the general community to see if anyone else has experienced this while at McGill. If you are comfortable with sharing your story with CKUT, we'd love to hear, and you can contact me here on Reddit to share your story ! Thank you!
I just saw a bunch of firetruck and an ambulance outside of campus 1 residence building, what's going on?
is anyone else majorly struggling in this class?? i saw the average is an A- but the quizzes have been going horribly and I can’t follow her lectures bc she’s so frantic and disorganized. any tips on how to do better on quizzes??
looking for café recommendations near mcgill to study! particularly ones that are very quiet if not silent - no loud music, chatter, etc. thank you!
Hi everyone, I'm a chemical engineering major, and one of the prerequisites is PHYS 142. I'm currently taking this class, but I find it super hard. The lectures don't help, and I've searched every question in the ANS so far.
To be fair, I am WAYYY behind in the course material, and I'm trying to catch up, so maybe my odds will change. (i hope, or I'm fr dead)
I was talking to one of my chemical engineering classmates today, and he told me that he took 102 instead, and it was much easier. Since the course withdrawal (without a refund) is on February 25, I'm considering dropping 142 and taking 102 later on. I don't know if i should wait till the first 142 midterm (feb 21) to see if i can survive or not.
Why did they replace the normal tampons in the bathrooms on campus to tampons without applicators??? WERE THE CARDBOARD APPLICATORS NOT GOOD ENOUGH?????
Hi, is possible to study all night in Schulich library, I love the ambience there. Or is there any alternative library I could go to?
Hey, Concordia student here, I'm doing a bit of research on people's travel plans and I wanted to know if anyone's diverted their travel plans away from the US. This might be a stretch but I'm genuinely curious if people are boycotting the US in any way, including travelling.
is there any sort of online forum/community for students going on exchange? a facebook group or something organized through mcgill, etc? thanks
hello!! i am taking the psyc 212 - perception - course with Mathieu Roy this semester, and i find his lectures and slides way too confusing. kinda stressing out here because my midterm is in less than two weeks, so i would appreciate any study tips for this class from people who have taken it before!!
also should the textbook be enough to study for exams? thank you!!
Overheard some people talk about how they wanted to join a profs lab but in order to you have to do the experiments that kill rats, and my biochem rooommate said there were so many places that work with rats, how many rats do you think are killed a year at mcgill? (RPY)
I'm struggling with another math course and looking for advice, I am currently totally lost in this course and don't even know where to start to understand anything. Im so lost on the switching of variables and Jacobian. Anyone who was successful in this course have any tips?
Anyone down to form a magic the gathering club?
i’ll be a couple credits short on electives to meet graduation requirements after this term and absolutely despise the idea of coming back in the fall, so i’m considering a summer language course but wondering about the course load. i’ve taken a full year language course before so i know they’re not to be taken lightly if the same content is being covered in a shorter amount of time but don’t know what to expect in terms of actual class time bc i also need to be able to work as well.
TLDR: is it feasible to work 30ish hrs/week while enrolled in a summer language course ?
Bonus: any easy summer elective (ARTS) suggestions?
