Maps have been around for centuries- they help us know what cultures were aware of in terms of their neighbors, other lands, and so on. Map making continues today, as we map other planets, the bottom of the seas, and continually produce high quality maps here that measure various aspects of culture, demographics, and geography.

Both professional maps and ones you draw yourself are welcome, as are fantasy maps.

The grey concrete walls on either side of the Infected Zone are an imposing sight. Vines creep up the wall, and cracks create deep crevices in the walls aging concrete and rebar, with the walls disrepair becoming a visible attribute.
Making a world map for one of my campaigns, and wanted some feedback on what you think could be missing or is needed, as well as anything to polish.
Hopefully you guys can see this. I apologize if it's difficult to read the locations, but a number of them are subject to change anyway.
I have every intention of creating a final, complete map on an even larger piece of poster board (because I enjoy torturing myself). Other than correcting the splitting rivers to the far south-west, and the lonesome central mountain, do you guys see anything else that may need amending?
The map is for an epic fantasy world, so naturally, geography doesn't HAVE to be geologically correct. I want the readers of my world to explore the continent without running into any jarring discrepancies, though. I feel like the more life-like something is, the easier it is to become engrossed in stories.
Thanks to everyone in advance!
Hey there, I have a question about G.Projector that maybe someone here could help with. I recently updated G.Projector to the latest version, but now it won't let me export maps larger than 7500x3750 pixels whereas the version I had before allowed exports up to 20000x10000 pixels. Has anyone else experienced this problem and if so were you able to fix it?
I did find this section in the changelog on the NASA website that probably has something to do with it, specifically the last two points:
I’m not sure if this is allowed here, but we shall see
I made this map for a Pathfinder campaign I’m running for two of my closest friends.
After suffering a devastating defeat at the hands of a dark priest, the huntress and the thief awoke on a strange island surrounded by a thick wall of fog and separated from where they last remember being by hundreds of miles.
What will they find on this spot of land best lost to time? What must they go through to return home and expunge their town of the bloodthirsty cult?
I'm trying to combine these two maps of subdivisions of two North Indian states, Punjab and Haryana, but when I match up the scales and try to overlay the maps, I see that the boarders don't actually line up properly and there seems to be a lot of places where they don't overlap.
Other maps I've looked into with these two states combined don't have the subdivisions, so I'm wondering how I can make or find a map with the specifics I'm looking for, could I use something like QGIS or OpenStreetMap, do they export to vector files, as I'm working in Adobe Illustrator.
Or maybe even exporting data from Apple or Google Maps? I've tried combing through Wikipedia Commons but I just cannot find what I'm looking for.
Not sure what I’m gonna do with this map, just thought it was fun to whip up. Any feedback would be greatly appreciated.
Hello I’m currently working on creating my world for mostly tabletop RPG purposes and as a form of relaxation. For me it is important to accurately portray maps of globe planets using projections. I also plan to make 3D models of those planets. I’ve tried many methods of drawing and planing this on paper, but it creates many problems and frustrating issues.
So I thought of making a 3D planet in some program and then project it on flat surface to make a map. I would be very glad if someone could recommend to me some programs in witch i could draw a map on a sphere and if any program could to this project this in different methods with accurate distortion. Any other tip related to this process would also be appreciated.
I don’t have any deadlines because this project is mostly for fun, so this methods don’t need to be quick or convenient, just not torturously frustrating. It would be cool if there also be a little intuitive or customizable.
Thank you in advance
So I have been updating the map of my world to make it more developed, and I wanted to check with y'all what do you think of the shapes of the continents, the way the rivers and mountains are set up and such. Also a recommendation for a good style for the more developed map would be cool haha. Thanks!
Now its time to flesh out some details as well as the swamps surrounding this rotten city. Cant wait to move on to the coloring. The full map will go on my insta first.
