Still yet to get it working. Learnt some new information tonight which gives hope, thanks to NeilKnows on YouTube, that in the UK I should have been looking for channels 25 or 60 instead of 3 or 4 like the American releases. Also has a quirk of a modified power jack to take 3.5mm, apparently must have been done by the sellers dad way back in the day as it was found when clearing out his loft. Who knows what kind of power issues it may have seen... Are the jacks the right way for center positive?... Would it having had reversed power polarity put through it have caused major issues inside? Will it just end up sitting on a shelf for months as I'm still too busy with the rest of the house looking like a bomb site while moving in? Who knows, all this and more to come at some point in the future... Maybe...
Hey guys, just found a Odyssee ( ITT Schaub-Lorenz). If I understand it right, it is also from Magnavox, it looks almost the same as the original. I have the opportunity to buy it from someone (it is in good condition). But can't find any sold items on ebay, so pretty hard for me to evaluate the price for it. (This Pic is just from Google, as a reference)
Maybe someone of you have idea what a good price would be to pay for it?
Looking for a Magnavox Odyssey in Germany.
I don't want to own it forever. Only need it for 2 weeks, to see what it was like back then. If someone is willing to rent it (paid of course), just message me.
I recently bought a Odyssey (1TL200BK12) and the Player 2 port has been having problems. I had thought that the second controller was jittery, but turns out both controllers work fine on the player 1 port. Now the second player wont appear on the screen at all. How can I fix this? I’m new to this community.
Any alternatives to the rf box would be awesome.
It's way too old for me to just throw away but I don't really care to keep it since I have another one in a much better condition so I'm just trying to figure out if it is worth selling or I should just give it to someone I know for them to have.
Hey, I bought a odyssey 500 off ebay and didn't pay close enough attention to notice it only came with the rf adapter and no power cord, what kind of power cords will work with the odyssey 500? And just to double check, I don't need anything else right? I have the system with the cord coming out the back and the rf adapter, so I think I'm just missing a power plug. Thanks in advance
Would it be safe to retrobright my 1972 Magnavox Odyssey by leaving its cover (no insides just the cover) in the sun for a while? Kinda new so I would appreciate tips if it is possible, too. My odyssey isn’t in the best condition color-wise so I’d like to restore it too is former glory. Thanks!
⚠️SOLVED ⚠️Before I state the issue, I’d like to say that I’m a complete noob at this point.
My overlays for my Odyssey won’t stick to my CRT for some reason. I tried many, none stick, is this a TV problem or an overlay problem. Thanks
Hello all
I primarily collect Magnavox odyssey and am looking for rarer foreign systems if anyone had one for sale! Also any US or foreign advertising (I have some).

I've been a mod for quite a few of the retrogaming (and other adjacent) subs here for a long time -- even if kind of dormant recently. I love these topics, and how our digital "ancestors" solved hard problems, and how we've build a continuum of interest with their work. I started and even took over a few dormant subs and worked with /u/zadocpaet to help build a broad community here, even appealing to niche systems.
The mod teams are doing a great job, especially /u/Derf_Jagged. I feel like now is a good time to step down. I'm going to continue to lurk, and be a regular user and I wish the subs, the mods, and the users the best!
I was reading an article on the history of skateboarding video games, and the article had stated the first skateboard game was on the Magnavox Odyssey. It was called Skateboard Party. However, I can not find anything on this game. Does anyone know any information regarding the game?
