A place for all those interested or already involved members of the magazine fed paintball community. Great for discussing opinions, events/products or anything related to magazine fed play in general.

Welcome to the r/Magfed, a place for all discussion based around the magazine fed paintball industry.

  1. Ten round tubes and Tac-Caps are not magazines.

  2. Boxmags and the players that use them are welcome. Do not disparage these players as they are a part of the magfed community

  3. We will allow for discussion of limited paint games as it relates to Magfed, however discussion outside of events needs to be kept strictly magfed

  4. This is not a place to bash or hate on speedball or airsoft. This is also not a place for "meme wars". Please stay on topic.

  5. Before making a new post, please do a search of the subreddit to make sure that any issue or concern you have hasn't already been addressed or a thread made about it. It helps to keep the subreddit from getting gummed up by numerous threads about the same topic over and over.

  6. We are all players of the same sport, some new, some not. Treat your fellow players with respect, be helpful, and in general do not be a dick to people or gatekeep information or help.

Thanks!

Sten style Magfed on cronus

Hello everybody

Just bought a Cronus tactical for cheap (50€).

Do you reckon I can use a Sten like magfed adapter on it ? Talking about those made for the Tippmann 98.

And what mods do you recommand?

Additionnal infos :

  • I am in France so some things are to come by but those adapter are accessible for 55ish €
  • I am a complété newbie
  • I also bought a Tippmann TCR (Heard it can leak from the CO2 port - anxious about that)
  • also ordered some JT ER2
  • I havent received any gun yet, all in the mail.

(the goal of all this IS to have some familial fun on homeground woodlands... Don't know if I am making sound choices)

Thankful for any help

EMF100 buying question

Good morning; decided I was gonna buy an emf just for its versatility. Found two bundles on ansgear for two very different prices. Anyone have any insight into what could be the difference?

https://ansgear.com/planet-eclipse-emek-emf100-pal-enabled-mag-fed-paintball-gun-w-6-pack-cf20-magazines-black/

https://ansgear.com/planet-eclipse-emek-emf100-pal-enabled-mag-fed-paintball-gun-black-w-6-additional-20-round-magazines/

I’m looking at other online sites (lone wolf, proedge, hr tactical innovations, etc) but just wondering the huge difference between the ansgear bundles.

Mag issue

Hey everybody. I'm having a slight issue with my PE CF20 mags. Most of the time they run great, but every couple of games I notice that some of my mags don't feed all that well. It seems like the follower stops when it reaches the bottom of the mag where it curves back up. Then I have to give e it a little slap or wind it back up. It seems like it's random whether or not a given mag will have this issue. Another thing is that the seem awful snug in the maxwell. My dye mags pretty much just drop out so it makes quick reloads easy. I do clean my marker and mags the night before each and every field day. I also inspect everything for damage, as well give all the moving parts a fresh coat of grease. I even put a light coat of silicone oil in the tracks that the follower rides through and when I do that during a game day, it seems to fix the issue of the follower getting stuck. I'm no chemist so I don't know if that's healthy for the plastic. Is there anything else I can try? Thanks!

What body mods/dress-up kits/random upgrade parts do you wish were available, and for which markers?

I've been doing some experimental stuff with the FSC platform lately and have been getting some interest but sadly no sales yet.

I love designing and manufacturing stuff, but I'm quickly realizing I don't have a great bead on where the gaps in the custom magfed market currently are.

Please let me know if y'all have any items you've always wished existed, whether that's ergonomic stuff like what I've posted for the FSC, upgraded versions of stock marker parts, oddball magazine types/hopper-to-mag conversions/hi-cap magazines that aren't just box drives, or even just kits that make your marker look like a historical or fictional weapon for scenario games or just because it'd be cool.

I primarily do 3D-printing (I have light aluminum/brass machining capabilities but can't do any pressure-bearing or steel parts for the moment) and I'm decent at designing/fabbing moderately complex electronic parts.

I have access to the following markers for prototyping purposes:

-Valken M17

-Spyder MR2 (tactical fore-end)

-Tippmann Stormer Elite

-Tippmann TiPX (including CMP-18 body kit)

-Umarex HDR50

-Umarex HDP50 Compact

-Umarex HDR68

-Umarex HDX68

-Umarex HDS68

-FSC

-Tiberius TAC 8 (don't laugh at me, I impulse-bought it from eBay before I realized it wasn't a T8.1 and now I feel dumb)

-Psycho Ballistics Delta 68 (in here just for fun)

-Nova N8 Fury 50mm launcher (I can't imagine many fields would even allow you to walk in from the parking lot with this thing, it's honestly terrifyingly powerful and looks pretty sinister)

Some of these are break-barrel/tube-fed/internal magazine markers, not sure if those all count as magfed but I thought I'd throw them out there. MR2 is obviously hopper-fed, but I've been thinking about doing some wacky stuff with adapting magazines to its feed neck mount after milling it out for First Strike rounds.

Thank you for reading! I look forward to hearing your ideas and working on some new products for you folks.

And if this isn't in keeping with the spirit of the sub, somebody let me know and I'll take this down if need be.

5v5 magfed games, tell me your opinion

Been trying to organize 5v5 or something around 10v10 in a small scenario( city, woods and a mixture with object based games. It's been a little difficult to get people to play and im looking to get some insight on what people would like to see in the game. I reside in new England and want to start soon.

Convince me to get the TiPX remote hose adapter

Or don't. I currently run the gun as a primary, and love the maneuverability afforded by 12grams, BUT it is kind of exhausting having to change then out constantly if I get stuck in a long battle. Biggest question I have: will I still be able to use the 12'ies if I have the remote adapter installed? I've used coiled remotes before and didn't really care for it, are the straight hoses easier to deal with?

EMF 100 tigger

I’m interested in getting a new trigger mainly for aesthetic reasons such as polished red. But if there is a brand that is better than an other, I would go down that route.

Any guidance on the matter is helpful.

Sell me on magfed

Hey all, I recently got back into paintball after a 15 year break and I already have speedball and stockclass setups. After playing yesterday, I found that my body cannot keep up with the younger players with these setups.

There were a couple guys rocking magfed, but I didn’t get a chance to talk to them much, so I’m turning to y’all.

Basically sell me on why I should get into your style of play.

Thanks

Tac vest mag retention inserts? Tippman tmc

I want an insert that will hold the mag in place and hold the mag pouch open so I don’t have to use the god awful elastic string pulls. Anyone have a brand recommendation? As far as I know it’s the same as a m4 mag.

Airtank difficult to remove from my t15

Hello everyone,

Unfortunately the air tank on my T15 Gen 5 is very difficult to remove under pressure. So heavy that the regulator twists off when turning.

The problem suddenly appeared. I think the problem arose after rattle can my T15. I've already tried a new ASA and even with this it's super difficult to turn off the air tank too...

Does anyone have an idea what it could be?

Yall asked for in use. Here we are. The abomination emf :)

Emf100 q loader operational! I was able to fix the chopping issue it had by altering the length of the toob so that it fed juuuuust right.

Q-loader emf

So.... what's the consensus? Does this count as magfed? Haha

I posted this in r/paintball last week. Been doing tweaks to make the q-loader more reliable.

BYOP

Hey magfed family. I was wondering if anyone has a list or some other resource to point me to BYOP and BYOFSR fields near rockford illinois. The only field that is totally BYOP/FSR is Fox paintball. I really enjoy Fox but I'd like to get out a bit more and try other fields. Ideally the fields I'm looking for would be within 1-2 hours of rockford and be woodsball or larger themed fields like they have at paintball explosion. Thanks for any and all help!

Current magfed setup

The drill has the MCS mag winder bit. Absolutely amazing to have. And the hopper is paired with a 3d printed speed loader(only for dye and cf20) Works best with a force fed hopper. The grey lokbolt on the marker is also 3d printed and works great. Biggest problem though is my barrel. It's a freak xl barrel and the barrel back is impossible to get out without taking the body apart so it stays in there due to it being shorter than the handguard/shroud part of the body. I will be getting a barrel for first strikes so having to get the freak back out is gonna be a hassle. Also run a 68/4500 tank if not using the 13ci.

300 Bar Regulator recommendations

Hello everyone,

I need a new regulator for my 300Bar air tank. I play a Firststrike T15 for which a full auto kit has already been ordered. Do you have any recommendations for regulators that create an output pressure of 850 - 950 PSI so that the full auto kit works properly?

First strike scout

Does anyone have any experience with these? I've been looking for one that's not wayyyy over priced. I wanna try something "bolt action" was thinking about trying an empire tracer or PMI with some modifications. Hammer 7s are always priced higher than id like to pay whenever I've seen one. So I'm lead to the first strike scout. (Also the 468 bolt action but again way too expensive from what I've seen, but I'd love to here any experiences with those too) But how are the scouts? How's reliability, efficiency, build quality, parts availability, customizability etc? The biggest question though is are cocker barrels able to be adapted to them? Specifically barrels with inserts. In hindsight I regret not buying one before a while back ANS had em marked down to like 200 and some change. And last black Friday CPX Bros had one for sub 200. I'm not very familiar with the first strike markers I'm way more familiar with tippman and PE.
