Here is a 90 second compilation of real 99 Dylan Heid. OP Knuckleballer with Outlier fastball! I did time his fastball and hit a perfect perfect though. But was still a nightmare to face.
Usually don’t have enough time to play and knew I wouldn’t be #1, but hoped for at least Top 100 of finishing Skenes. Was a lot of fun pitching with him!
When is mlb the show 24 leaving gamepass or will it not leave since mlb the show 25 is not going to be on gamepass at all
Games are long asf
That would be sick.
How can you tell???
Ok, first of all, I don’t have a current system. Let’s back up. I wasn’t into baseball until after grad school. A friend in college had given me a copy of The Show ‘06 (I think?) for PS2 just because he never played it. I don’t know that I ever played it either. But then in about 2012-2013, I picked up MLB 2k10 for 360 used at GameStop because it was dirt cheap and I was curious. It wasn’t long before I was playing that game on the highest difficulty settings and still blowing out the CPU the overwhelming majority of the time, because, at least according to the Internet, 2k was unrealistic and arcade-like. Meanwhile I became interested in baseball in general, started watching games, etc.
At some point, I got used copies of The Show 10 for both PS3 and PSP. Started with all settings and sliders at default. Played a few games. Couldn’t buy a hit, and gave up a lot of stuff defensively that seemed ridiculous. Switched to Rookie difficulty, didn’t feel like anything changed. Tweaked sliders. Same. Tried slider suggestions from the internet. Same. Tried extreme sliders that should’ve made the game as easy as possible. Same. Continued for probably half a season, never won a single game, managed at best a couple of hits and a run, shutout most of the time, blown out by 7 or more runs at least 75% of the time. Put the game away for a couple of years.
Tried it again a couple of years later on a whim. It never got better.
I now don’t have my PS3 hooked up and don’t own a PSP (or a 360 for that matter) anymore. I have a Pi4 emulator setup, but I haven’t gotten anything more intensive than PS1 games running decent on it. I do, however, have RetroArch on my iPhone, and a Backbone. So I got The Show 11 for PSP (that was the last one released for that system). I’m having the exact same experience. I also tried 2k10, which was the game I had been good at on 360, and it turns out the PSP version of that game is HIDEOUS, so I’m avoiding it.
Anyway, I don’t expect to blow out every game, but it seems like there should be a way to set it to make it at least playable for someone like me that never played baseball and didn’t get interested in the sport until later in life. I always read about patience and discipline at the plate. I get that. And I readily admit I’m terrible about it. But is there ANY getting around that in this game? I fear 2k reinforced bad habits, because hitting was so much easier.
I won’t be getting a current console and current version of the game for a variety of reasons. I don’t care about the latest gameplay modes, current rosters, any of that stuff. I would just like to be able to play something on what I already have that is more realistic than NES/SNES baseball games. But I’d also like to be able to pick up and play and be at least moderately successful without spending a year (or forever?) practicing “getting good”.
It’s just very discouraging. Is this series just not for me?
can we have team captains next year apply to players that played for that team? e.x all Trea Turner cards work for the dodgers team captain
I hope we get a graphics overhaul. I don’t think it looks bad, but I can’t be the only one that thinks “holy shit this is a good-looking video game” and then there’s a close-up of a player and it looks like the Santa Claus clone from SC 2? I just think with the power of the consoles it could be better. It’s not a deal breaker for me, but sometimes it looks…off. How do you guys feel?
So we know if there will be online franchise this year? It would be do fun to do one on the show just like madden a draft free agency and everything
Is there a way to decipher which card is Elly and which one is Gunnar from the new pack opening?
Didnt know he was goated like that
Anyone know when this event is happening?
Maddux, Smoltz, Mariano, etc. Their location is not listed and I can’t find anything online about how to get them, who knows?
Got into the game last year when Sony put it on PS+. Ended up being one of my favorite games I’ve played in a while.
So I’m looking into getting 2025 but I’m fine waiting for a sale. I also just read the studio says it will not be on any subscription services for all of 2025. Ideally I don’t want to wait that long. When do these games usually go on sale?
Hopefully I don’t have to wait til Black Friday. Lol

For PS and XBOX that use Gaming monitors. I am planning on playing 25 on a monitor but the problem I have had in the past was input lag. I was mess with the settings during a game and figured out that different difficulty levels responded differently. I’m looking for a monitor that can compete at the hall of fame/ legend rating on ranked. Does anyone have any suggestions?
Listen- I’m not saying that I’m some top ranked player, I’m consistently ranked 500-600, talk as much shit as you want, but like… if we are going to rage quit after a home run, can we please wait until it’s counted so that way I can get my parallels up 😂 not saying I get 1000 rage quits a day, maybe once a month, but still cmon, let me get rewarded
After seeing a few legends enter the legend pool in ‘24 while seeing an even larger number get dropped was concerning. I feel like the legend pool shrinks each year. Anyone feel the same? NBA2k may be greedy but at least they have a very deep legend pool to the point that each basketball team has their own All-Time legends team!
I hope MLB the Show can get to that point. Imagine an All-Time Yankees vs All-Time Dodgers? And no, I’m not talking about the theme teams (which are cool in their own right, love seeing those on here) where you have to include someone who played for said team for only one year because the legend pool wasn’t deep enough.
I used to love breaking up double plays in older The Show games. Anyone else?
I was wondering as a PC player, now that game pass is not going to be a thing anymore, is there any way to play The Show 25 on PC? Is there maybe some kind of emulator we could use?
Im mostly playing offline game modes, so the raw gameplay is improved enough to worth a purchase?
I am a Red Sox fan, sorry if they are overrepresented! Do you think any on my list have a shot of making it into the game? Who are some others you would like to see?
This is on Veteran difficulty.
I am down to only 1 more trophy before I have them all and it is a diving catch. I play a offline DD so if the CPU gets a hit it is usually a ground ball or HR. So in addition to never having done it, I also don’t get a lot of tries. Should I move to a created stadium with a deep outfield? Is there a trick to timing it?
Assuming the retired players from this past year won't be in the show 25, I'm really going to miss having a Charlie Blackmon card.
Are there any other cards that you will miss having in 25?
Instead of the way co op is right now where you gotta get to a certain rating I think a mode kind of like how madden is would work way better for co op. You have to go atleast 5-2 or wtv then you get to your playoffs you have to win 3 in a row to get to your world series game. It’s an absolute grind to get to world series in the current format.
