I have been critical of Jenkins but judging off of Jaren’s comment last night, i understand now that Jenkins is probably taking directives from the front office to manage minutes but guess what…
You have to make it to the playoffs, 1st.
Why do people think this team is constructed in a way that can load manage their star players and skate to a top 6 seed in a loaded West?
It’s just so counterintuitive. You give Jenkins a shit roster and expect him to juggle minutes, minimize your best players, and secure a playoff berth after that.
I see a lot of fans endorsing this like we have some type of stacked roster. Guys, if Ja, Jaren, Bane don’t play, WE SUCK! Why is that such a hard thing to understand. Especially after what we went thru last year.
Before you downvote me to oblivion, hear me out. No, you won't get any player as great as Ja in return, and obviously you would destroy fan relations, so in no way do I believe the organization would even entertain the idea, but I'm finding it hard to envision a championship run built around Ja Morant.
I had hoped he'd come back humble and mature this season, but I've seen no evidence that he has. He'll give the requisite soundbite that suggests personal accountability, but then almost immediately say and do things that run contrary to that. He's a tremendous player and has all the tools to be a superstar in the league, but he can't seem to focus on his on-court product because he seems so distracted by his celebrity and everything that comes with that.
The Ja of the "Welcome to the Dark" period, who kept his head down and put in work, was the player you could build around, but around the time he launched his first shoe, something changed. Booking promotional events around the team's travel schedule was just the beginning. Steve-O saw the writing on the wall and tried to get him to focus up around that time, but I don't think Ja ever listened.
He's the heart and soul of the team, the face of the franchise, but I feel like that responsibility is secondary to developing his brand. But maybe I'm wrong. Convince me I'm wrong!
It's not worth much, but as a fan since Lionel Hollins days and a lifelong NBA-head, Taylor Jenkins is an awesome coach. He has the support and buy-in from his team, and I'm disheartened to see the constant overlooking of the flaws of the roster and the weaknesses of individual players and projecting it onto Jenkins. Some of these posts are out here acting like Jaren is an all-NBA 1st team player or Santi is an all star, not players who have great skills and upsides but also cannot shake devastating losing basketball plays on a consistent basis (Jaren - turnovers and bad/costly fouls, Santi - the disappearing act). Chill out with all of the shouting about Jaren's rotations. He's obviously on a minutes restriction, and there's definitely a crafted early season plan focusing on the long run. This team needs to compete deep, not Tom Thibodou out the second half of the season. Tearing down Jenkins is how we end up getting HAMmed or full MONTYed.
I am planning to come to my first grizzlies game. Any advice on where to get away team autographs? I've looked around and best I can find so far is getting tickets by the visiting tunnel or getting to the Westin hotel 2.5 hours before tipoff. Unfortunately the tunnel tickets are a bit out of my price range. Does anyone know if the players still come from the Westin hotel and if times and routines are changed for a Sunday afternoon game?
I know it is way too early for this and we need to see the team fully healthy, but have been thinking about how we can make that jump to a top tier contender(other than coaching change)
IMO with Marcus Smart coming into the season looking out of shape and not playing well to start combined with the ankle sprain, I think it would be best to trade him on the expiring deal. I think it would enticing to include Santi as well, we may not be able to afford him if someone offers him $15 mil/year.
I was thinking Smart/Santi/First Rounder(s) for Cam Johnson. Gives us some more height and shooting on the wing and he could start until GG is ready to be our starting 3 and Brooklyn gets assets and players they could flip for more.

Way too often over the past few seasons we'll lose an otherwise close or good game due to one complete trash period. Why does this keep happening? do other teams do this as frequently? I’m no basketball expert but this is baffling and infuriating to me.
If we're going to play Edey 15 minutes a game, please let him go crazy. Let him foul out, fight for boards and push people around.
This team lacks energy and plays awkwardly.
What a steal we got from the second round this year! Jaylen Wells looks unstoppable. He’ll be the one that leads us to the championship at the end of this season.
People used to dunk more on this team and that made people cheer, which was exciting and also fed into defensive intensity. I also miss defensive intensity.
Tl;dr: The people who can dunk should do it more often, for the culture.

### Game Highlights |
my 2 cents = they're gonna play with alot more energy tomorrow
I love jenkins but some of these lineups and rotations have been terrible. Most importantly, WHY IS LARAVIA PLAYING THIS MUCH? He is a detriment on both sides of the ball and I understand we’re injured, but we still have 11 other active players.
Will not return tonight.
They're really out there making basketball look like a job instead of a passion. Wtf is going on this season? We're getting trashed by Ziaire Williams and BEN SIMMONS?? What?
Is anybody else having trouble watching the Grizz games on Xfinity. I've been trying to watch them but the fan duel sports network isn't working for me.
That is all
